I think they'd be understanding as long as you don't eat anyone they care about.

After maybe a week on a veg diet, though, you probably wouldn't miss it...especially because all the best chefs cook veg food. Pones eat eggs and milk (further proof they are evolutionarily divergent from earth equines) so I really doubt a hume would find himself going hungry in Equestria.

Actually I have a headcanon about that. My headcanon is that Equestria is actually a tidally locked planet like Gliese 581g with one side always facing the white dwarf star it orbits and the other facing away where it is always night, or at least it was until magic was discovered.

Basically the ponies migrated from the region between the day and night side-the only part of the planet that was initially habitable-to the cold dark side and created an artificial sun made out of magic to provide light and warmth so they can live on the night side. When the artificial sun is not in use it descends down into a cavern somewhere on the edge of the planet's night side until it is called up again by Princess Celestia.

They're kind of halfway in-between. They don't have the super forward set eyes that we primates do, but they're forward facing enough where they seem to have pretty good binocular vision.

Something that doesn't come up very often as well, but because of that I always imagined that they have to have a very interesting visual psychology. I would love to see how they process visual information with that unusual combination of binocular vision while still having a large amount of peripheral vision.
