What is Past Sins?
Past Sins is a famous/infamous fanfiction from 2011 created by Pen Stroke, reworked to fit aspects of S2 canon in 2012.
"On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created.
Now, a little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Is she Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those who refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat?

Fyx is total shit though. And this is coming from someone who thought Past Sins was godawful and Nyx herself is ugly as fuck.
First off Fyx looks absolutely nothing like Nightmare Moon. Which is a huge issue, being that she's a manifestation of the corrupting Nightmare influence thought to help drive Luna into her transformation or what have you. Fyx does not fit this aesthetic at all.
Worse is that even if you ignore that fact and say she's just a cute filly, she fails at that too. Like Nyx she suffers from looking like she was made by someone who has no basic understand of color theory. Her coat is eyeseeringly saturated like Nyx's and is also a very boring and bog standard color scheme and design. She's no better than any other of the literally millions of shitty pony creator OCs out there that plague DA.
Fyx fails in her purpose of redesigning Nyx by falling for the same rookie trappings that ruined Nyx in the first place. Hell, she is even worse in certain aspects by not being consistent with her character
