Holiday decides that returning to Ponyville at this point would be a death sentence, and opts to head for the settlement on the other side of the forest. But how can she find it in broad daylight?
Wait, doesn't she still have the zebra's divining stick?
>'Eureka!'
-----------------------------------
The trip through the forest is lonesome and chilly... There's little to see at this time of morning besides trees and the occasional bird.
Eventually, Holiday comes to a river with no clear way across.
>>

Yeah, this seems good.
But maybe we could use our magic to knock down one of the trees to make a bridge instead.

It would probably use less energy to just knock a tree down.

Holiday trots up and down the river bank, in search of a narrow spot. When she finds one, she uses her magic on the tree closest to it, aiming for its base. The tree shudders as a jagged crystal erupts from its roots, sending it leaning forward and soon toppling across the river.
Still, the trip across the forest is not quick at all. The divining stick eventually leads Holiday to the ruined castle of the Royal Sisters. She stares at it pensively as she passes it.
>'Damn moonhorse, acting so high and mighty nowadays... She was just as fucked up as me once. Angry, and jaded, and alone...
>J...Just how I like it!
>But I guess she was too GOOD for that.
>She wanted to be WORSHIPPED and LOVED.'
Holiday's brow furrows.
>'How fucking pathetic is that? A princess, ruler of a whole country, needing validation like a school filly.
>And she didn't even get it! She got blasted into space instead.
>No wonder every pony else is a half-retarded wimp, when that's one of their leaders.
>One of their fucking GODDESSES.
>Not like me.
>I can take being hated, and alone.'
Holiday smiles to herself.
>'I wonder if that makes me stronger than an alicorn...?'

I suppose we could explore it, for lack of much else to do.

Holiday inspects the twin statues. They depict Royal Guard stallions equipped with spears, flanking either side of the door as if guarding it.
>'Assholes.'
With a snort, Holiday enters the dark room between them, her horn instinctively lighting up. Dark magic is surprisingly bright sometimes. The room is small and unimpressive, and there looks to be a partially-collapsed wall in the back of it.
Behind that wall, however, there sits a pedestal with a small treasure box set atop it. The treasure box is quite faded, but the lock on it seems to be in fine condition.

Entranced by the lovely little disc of metal and glass, Holiday eagerly takes it and makes it her own. She wonders if it's magical, and decides to test it with an ancient alternative unicorn technique: She licks it.
CLICK!
>"Ngh!"
Like many alternative techniques, licking the trinket doesn't work. It does, however, reveal the object's purpose: It's a looking glass.
>>
>>28259810

The looking glass points Holiday at a torch holder. Holiday defies societal norms by attempting to fit the looking glass into it. But the torch holder isn't wide enough.
>'Oh well...'
Since trying to combine the looking glass with light didn't work, she tries her luck with darkness. She zaps the floor with enough magic to produce a small crystal, and then she inspects it with her new trinket. The crystal is pitch-black, yet paradoxically it also seems to be glowing...

>LOOKING GLASS added to inventory

Her latent kleptomaniac satisfied, Holiday makes her way back the way she came before she's devoured by a grue or kobold or whatever lurks in the shadowy hallways of a ruined castle. On her way, she makes sure to give the torch holder one last check, just in case it hides any secrets she may have missed the first and second time around. When she is satisfied that it has nothing further to offer, she leaves the room.
Those statues she passed, however, might still have secrets of their own to divulge.
>"Hmm..."
Curiously, she peers at them once more, this time with the aid of the looking glass.

Holiday glances warily at the other statue, hoping that the untimely demise of its brother hasn't awakened it from its stony slumber.
Fortunately, this seems not to be the case. As she planned (hoped), the statue is as still and lifeless as... well, as a statue ought to be. Seriously, if your statue is moving around, you need to bring it back to Garro and have the both of them hanged for treason.
With a sigh of relief, Holiday leaves the statue and its jagged crystal twin behind and returns to the main corridor. She's not sure where to go next...

Holiday gives the room a once over with the looking glass. Nothing seems different from the norm here, so Holiday feels confident that she can pass undisturbed.
Just to be safe, though, she steps off the carpet as she walks.
Good thing, too: As she passes the unpartnered statue, it suddenly lurches forward atop its pedestal, spear thrusting out ahead of it with blinding speed. Holiday shrieks in pain and surprise: Had she been walking on the moldy carpet, she'd have been skewered. But the spear's reach is only enough for the tip to have just punctured her skin.

With an obscene battlecry, Holiday blasts the statue with enough dark magic to blow it to bits and leave a jagged mass of crystal the size of an upended table in its wake. Then, she turns and glances around at the other statues.
>"Let that be a lesson for the rest of you shitpiles!"
The statues make no attempt to respond.
>"That's what I thought."
With a small "hmph" of satisfaction, Holiday heads upstairs.
Judging by those busts on the walls, this is probably a part of the castle that Luna decorated.

Sadly, Holiday's musing doesn't go very far, so she just shrugs it off and continues down into the dark depths. The temperature drops dramatically, and a damp, musty smell fills the air.
At the bottom of the stairwell is a large chamber. It is so dark, Holiday can barely see her hoof in front of her face.

With a spark of her horn, Holiday casts her light spell. It's too small to be of much help, but it does reveal something on the wall nearby.
A torch.
Thinking back to her 'campfire,' Holiday lights the torch. The light is bright enough to reveal a few more torches, all surrounding some kind of large structure...
>'What the fuck is this?'
Soon, the room is illuminated, and Holiday is staring at a gigantic ring made of all manner of purple and black stones. It stands over 12 feet high, and carved into it in a perfect circle are various runes that Holiday has never seen before. The ominous ornament stands atop an elliptical pedestal made of marble, with stairs leading up to it around every side.
What's really odd is that the ring seems to be the only fixture in this room, which is otherwise quite bare save for the torches lining the walls. In fact, even the far end of the wall looks unfinished...

Holiday points her horn at the circular hole and fires. Her magic seems to collect in the hole and spread across the runes, making them glow a vivid purple color, much like the smoke emitting from her eyes. When she ceases her spell, the effect reverses itself, and the glow fades and disappears.

>I don't think I have enough magic to turn this thing on.'
Instead of exhausting herself, Holiday checks out the rest of the room. As I said before, it looks pretty incomplete. Like, you know how when you play Minecraft or Terraria or any of those autismblocks games, the first step in making an underground room is to dig out a big square- or cube-shaped hole and then clean up the imperfections before you start putting the floor and walls in? Whoever designed this chamber clearly skipped that part and just went straight from digging the hole to building this big honking ringamajig.

>>28332840
Why? So you can fire a magic rainbow at me and turn me to stone? Blow me into a million pieces?
Sorry, but fuck that.
>>
>>28332840
What in Celestia's godly asshole would we ever want to go see Twilight? She's the reason we're in a fucking run down trashheap of a castle with evil eye bullshit. Ms. "I'm going to steal your property and kick you out of the entire damn country because you aren't /friendly/ enough". She can fuck off, we're already trying to abide by her royal decree.
>>

Twilight can kiss my ass. We're busy, and we aren't going to drop everything that we're doing and come running just because she wants to have a chat over tea or some other gay shit. We'll go to Princess Twicunt when and if we damn well please.

>"No, fuck that."
"You're coming with me whether you like it or not!" Brainless Trash replies.
>"Why in Celestia's godly asshole would I ever want to go see Twicunt when she's the reason I'm in this fucking trashheap with evil eye bullshit to begin with?"
"How is this HER fault?" Trainwreck Dash asks.
>"Don't act like you don't know! She's going to steal my property and kick me out of the damn COUNTRY just because I'm not friendly enough! And now that I look like this, she wants to see me so she can fire magic rainbows at me? Turn me to stone? Blow me to pieces like a monster of the week?! No, fuck that! Get away from me before you hurt yourself and I get blamed for it!"
Holiday raises several crystal pillars from the floor, but Rainblowsass quickly flies over them.
"Nice try." she responds, a smug smile on her face. Holiday spins around and glares at her.
>"Look, if that fat bitch wants to have a chat over tea or whatever gay shit she sent you here about, tell her to come find me herself instead of sending her sidekick brigade to force us while she stuffs her fat face with hayburgers in the comfort of her little crystal princess playset castle."
"She IS here, genius!" Raincunt Cunt answers sharply.
>"Well tell her to go home! I'm trying to do what you fucks want and exile MYSELF so no pony has to deal with me anymore! So get out of here and leave me to rot in peace!"
Crusty Cunt's expression shifts a bit at this revelation, but she quickly returns to topcunt mode a moment later. "Yeah, I bet!" she says with a sneer, landing in front of Holiday. "You're just trying to get us to leave you alone so you can do whatever big evil spell you're probably planning before you get kicked out! Well you can forget it: I'm not about to leave a wanted mare with Sombra eyes roaming around the spooky old castle where Princess Luna went nuts, no way no how!"
>>
>>28333256
you won't believe me but there is no "grand scheme" i will probably unintentionally fuck something up though.
>>
>>28333256
Do I look like the kind of mare who would know super evil spells? Am i someone who want's to conquer the world? No I'm just a jerk and everyone in Ponyville knows that. The only reason I'm here is I got lost in the woods and was trying to find shelter.

>>
>>28333256

Oh please Rainbow Dash. Just think for once. If I was some evil world conqueror what would I be doing here? There's nothing in this castle but rubble. It's in ruins just like my life is currently. I'm exiling myself. Please I want to be left alone and I don't want to fight you. Let me leave right now and I assure you that you wont ever see me again. I wont bother anypony anymore.
>>
>>28333256
We aren't planning anything like that, we aren't retarded. We know how that shit ends. It ends with the "villain" getting turned into a decorative statue in the royal garden, and some "hero" getting praised for a day or two and then forgotten, or some overweight shut-in unicorn getting a pair of wings and a crown after sucking off suncunts clit.
We are a craftsmare, not some nerd like twicunt. We make shitty toys for kids who don't like us. The only "evil" spell we know is blowing shit up with crystals, and we can't even do that well. All we are good at is making crafts and being a cunt. We can't make friends. We will never have freinds, and no one will ever like us. So we are saving the princesses the trouble of exiling us and just leaving.
>>
>>28333256

We aren't planning anything you idiot! We are a toymaker! I just want to get away from everyone especially you and Twilight you guys have done enough to ruin my life as is.
>>
>>28333256
Ask who's all here? You? Twilight? Anyone else from your gaggle of friends?
>>
>>28333256
Luna became evil because she was jealous of her sister. If we become evil it'll be because they try and trap us in a corner and something bad will happen. Which is why it was a bad idea to waste time in the castle.

Let's get pride flag talking and then sucker punch her. Then we can just walk away while she's knocked out.

Holiday gives Rugmunch Dash a tired look.
>"Do I look like the kind of mare who would know super evil spells?"
Rainbow looks Holiday up and down. "Uh, YEAH?" she responds, as if the answer were the most obvious thing in the world. With a snort, Holiday tries a different approach:
>"Krusty Kunt, am I someone who wants to conquer the world? A job that would require me to keep an eye on and interact with all the ponies around, and then ultimately get me turned into a decorative statue in the royal garden while you guys get hailed as heroes for a day or two? All I've ever wanted is to be left alone. I'm not a monster, I'm just a jerkass craftsmare who got lost in the woods looking for shelter."
"...So you came HERE?"
>"I was low on options. Why, what would I do here that's so bad? There's nothing in this castle but rubble. It's in ruins, like my life..."
Holiday swallows on that last statement.
>"Please, I don't want to fight. I just want to be left alone. Just let me leave and you won't ever see me again. I won't bother any pony anymore..."
Braindead N' Brash trots back and forth. She looks conflicted.
"I..." she begins, before stopping. "You can't... Urgh, look. I'm going to go tell Twilight that I found you and you're not being a huge bitch for once." She opens her wings and lifts into the air above Holiday. "Just stay here until we get back. And don't try to pull any tricky stuff!"

>>28341941
West is a problem because she doesn't have any plot laid out there. Similarly she probably doesn't have any plot laid out to the east or south it's just never come up so she never specified. The plot hooks are north and going back. Everything else, unless it's really obtrusive like going to try and get an audience with Celestia, is likely ending the quest.

I'm more concerned with the fact that there bosses at all. I mean, how many fights did we have? 2? 3? I don't think the harpy battle counts either because we literally got killed on the second turn.
>>
>>28342254

>>28342254
I would assume given the quest so far that the boss battles don't have to be won with fighting. So it's just her terminology for the big deciding moment of how the story ends.
>>
Here's how it is:
Story is reaching it's conclusion.
Images are all named thiswillendbadly.
It's being railroaded super-hard and you honestly have two options.
No matter which one you pick, it's going to end badly and it will leave a sour taste in everybody's mouthes because a happy ending was never, ever a card that was going to be on the table.

No matter what you opt for, Inept has rigged it.
Your best bet is to figure out a way to rig the rigger.

We turn ourselves in, the mane six would probably be ok, but Celestia would have us executed or worse behind closed doors. AJ or Fluttershy might wonder about what happened but I'm guessing they'd be kept in the dark - save that Fluttershy knows it's her.

Only safe bet in that situation would be to write a letter to different ponies, the ones who know us and don't hate our guts, Celestia included - let her know we aren't forgotten.

Other than that, if we head north, we'd likely be faced with needless challenge that will result in us being fucked, no matter how we scale in power, since
>not even Tirek with all of Equestria's (sans the Princesses') Magic could win. Plot armor is their strength and we're being served as a meal of 'villain that must be [thing]ed'.
We'd be living, trapped within ourselves if we got 'magically redeemed' - it's probably a life where Holiday would be enslaved by the will of what's 'right and just' rather than her own.

The only thing that's pushing us this far is the voice and the intent of getting back at Equestria without complying to the evil villain shtick by sticking it to the 'man'. Honestly, I just see Holiday end up going through the mirror or something and being stuck in human land as her 'just desserts'.

This does sound like a very Holliday Special thing to do even if it is a little grim. Also it wouldn't be the first time Holly thought about suicide in this quest. Besides the trauma Holliday Special's self execution would inflict on the town's ponies would be a nice fuck you to leave the town with.
Honestly I've also had the idea of Holliday Special walking up to Twilight and asking her to "finish it" in my back pocket. Have Holly explain to Twilight that there is nothing left living for in her life and that she just wants Twilight Sparkle to finish her off.

I wish happiness was an option for Holliday Special but I agree that it was never in the cards...

Ending the CYOA because the primary goals have been completed or otherwise overcome isn't 'railroading' or 'rigging the system.' The only things in this game that I've enforced are the time limit and the morality system. Everything else has been and still is in the players' control.
>>
So if heading West ends the quest could Holliday Special just build her dank ass modern crystal condo, complete with a boss ass gazebo and swimming pool up in mountains somewhere while she lives out the rest of her natural life being alone and whooping up on pesky adventurers who come looking for a boss fight? Like the ending to Oregon Trail?

If this gets anywhere near 450, it'd be guaranteed burn-out, no matter how much time is taken off for Inept. Ending it early would probably have been between the time we visited Applejack and Fluttershy. Now is just the ideal medium area to be in the end game. Dragging things out just feels like extended suffering, whereas with a conclusion here, people can move on with things a lot smoother and without the feeling of a bad aftertaste.

We could go back and let Twifat and her faggy sidekicks help us. They aren't going to just turn us into a statue for calling Twilight fat or just being a jerk. They let that faggot Discord run around and he's way more dangerous than we are. Twilight being the hippy friendship fag she is will try and help us.
Why should we go north? What do you think is up there that would benefit us, aside from increasing the strength of our dark magic, which might not even be a good thing. How do you think we'll even get there without being seen? If they think we're dangerous they'll have ponies looking for us. We have no food or tools. no supplies at all. We'd probably die to wildlife or starvation before we even get halfway there.
If you guys actually want a good end, and don't want to be crushed by a fucking mammoth in the frozen north while trying to eat pine needles because everything is fucking frozen and there's nothing else to eat, then you need to stop running away like a bunch of emo pussies and ask for help. We can't fix this by ourselves, and running away and living in the middle of nowhere is fucking stupid.

This doesn't include the half dozen that died prematurely because Inept felt like they were bad stories. Which also matters. Inept will let her quests run for however long she thinks they need to not overstay their welcome and still be entertaining, for both her and her players. From the sounds of things she doesn't intend for this to be a 1000+ doorstopper, it'll either end with this choice, or relatively soon with the others.

And I'm perfectly fine with that, Inept seems about ready to move on to something else and FiT has been fun.

Holiday spends a long time trying to decide where to go next.
As much as she hates Twitard and her friends, something is nudging Holiday back towards them, and she's not sure why.
>'...Maybe...
>...I do need help.'
Holiday turns back towards the castle ruins.
Then, she turns towards the mountains again.
>'...Nah.'
The unicorn canters over the top of the steep hill and skids down the mossy slope, before galloping off towards the ridge to the north.

An hour later, and Holiday's stomach is grumbling and her hooves hurt.

>>

>>
>>28355594
No we don't, dipshit. we are closer to ponyville than we are to whatever non-specific location in the north you dumbasses want to go to.
We don't have enough supplies to make a trip alone across the country. What do you expect to do once you get there, what do you think is there worth potentially dying for?
Everything about going north is fucking stupid, and I don't think the people who voted for it thought about it that much at all.

>>
>>28355750

>>28355750
This, if they get all butthurt about us bailing on them back there, just come up with some sappy bullshit about how we needed to think about our life, and how it affects other ponies, or some shit, they'll lap it right up.
>>
There is nothing for us to the North. Sam said it would expand the dark powers Holiday Special has been granted. As far as I know Holiday Special doesn't even want dark powers. Also we're going to look like we're trying to be Sombra and Holly is going to freeze since she doesn't have cold weather supplies and there is hardly any food in the tundra.
Going back to twilight feels like a defeat since Twilight will likely gloat about how much she was right if she helps us. Honestly I think the best plan if we go back it to have Holly beg Twilight to kill her showing just how bad Twiglet fucked up or just have Holiday kill herself in front of the princess as a final act of defiance.
The option I favor most is going to the West and settling somewhere in the mountains away from any ponies. Although this seems uneventful, becoming a hermit like this was Holiday Special's original plan. She could build a house for herself and live out the rest of her time away from any ponies who could hurt her besides some idiot adventurers who I'm sure Holly could send packing after she humiliates them.
>>
I think its a mix of this and >>28355750
>I don't think the people who voted for it thought about it that much at all.
this.>>28355451 >samefagging

A lot of sensible suggestions like going back home to pack food and heading straight for the town for supplies was ignored. Instead, the people did dumb impulsive stuff like taking a detour to get cornered in the castle and the first act of running into the forest blindly.
I kind of think we would have been better off continuing our lawsuit regardless of our spooky eyes.

>>28355782
>we needed to think about our life
Well, it wouldn't have been wrong.
When you think about it while Twifat actions were wrong, but it did get Holly to learn some things about herself.
In the end, she learned she didn't want to be as alone as she thought and wanted things like a fuck buddy or even a child. There are other things that can make a pony happy rather than stupid friends.
So wants the moral of the story? Twilight should have sentenced holly to get gangbanged and impregnated instead. It would have made this journey of self-discovery a hell of a lot easier.

>'You stupid bitch!
>You dumb fucking sack of shit horse!
>How could you do something this fucking stupid?!'
Over and over, Holiday mentally scolds herself for her impulsiveness. She could die of exhaustion or exposure out here! Apparently her previous night in the forest taught her nothing.
>'I'm fucking dead. I've got barely any money, no clothes, I don't even have any... food...'
That's when Holiday remembers the apple that Applehorse gave her. She gingerly takes it out of her inventory and looks it over.
The apple is fragrant and shiny, like it just came off the tree.
>'Oh Celestia, Applejack you inbred nag I could kiss you right now.'
Holiday takes a bite of the apple. It's so juicy and delicious it nearly brings a tear to Holiday's eye. The hungry hungry mare wolfs down that apple like she hasn't eaten in days, because maybe she hasn't. I don't even remember. With some food in her belly, Holiday can think more clearly. She has a look around.
>'I'm in the mountains. Not the big frozen ones, though. Just normal rocky mountains. There's not a lot else to see around here... The ground kind of flattens out to the left there, and it looks like it's going to get more snowy to the right. I know you hit Manehattan if you go that way... eventually...
