That's specifically why I never read it (also because I don't generally read fanfics and FO:E is long as all hell), I mean, if you're going to write a fanfic where you're already stealing the lore and world of a series do you really need to steal the plotlines as well.

I mean shit, you could easily do something original by crossing the concept of Fallout with the world of FiM and actually write an interesting story. Just stealing everything from two franchises then lazily mashing them together is awful.

If you want something more original there's Project Horizons

FOE wasn't bad, it was your standard post-apocalyptic novel with ponies. I'm a sucker for survival stories so I enjoyed it. The first 10 chapters are good and worth a read.

Never got into Project Horizons though.

From what I remember, the only thing that was really used other than the world and characters was the basic questline from one of the games, FO2 I think. Also, the lore behind the war was really interesting, as the mane 6 basically split off and headed different factions for the war effort.

i think that happened because there was a war with the zebras, and fluttershy tried to pay nice, but she suffers retardation and give to the zebras some magic secrets, the war gets worst.
by the end, a magical nuke deletes all life in equestria, rarity dies saving retardshy, twilight becomes the master, AJ dies in action, RD becomes a ghoul (i think, been a long time), pinkie regroups her forces, and fluttershy becomes a tree watching all the deaths and chaos until lilpip saves her
