I guess it's because I already think zombies are way overdone. I seem to see a lot of people disliking the first half of the episode but for me there wasn't anything in the second half to like either. Dash was an out of character jerk to her friends and Pinkie was out of character when she was encouraging her. It was the first time I ever wanted to just not finish an episode of pony. The Spike/Celestia prank was pretty funny though.

I could at least stretch my imagination for PonyKart - Rarity was the only one I really felt was a little out of character, but the flashback was there to back it up.

I've met a few people in person who just do exactly that. Sometimes it's enough. Particularly with the female to males because society kind of just accepts butch women. Gay men are losing the stereotype. There's a whole thread over on /lgbt/ called 'femboys', the majority of whom I think are just dealing with the cards they're dealt.
Sometimes they'll "medically transition" with hormones so their body is more the way they like it but don't deal with the social part of transitioning. And sometimes after all that, they have just "dealt with it" and accept they've done all they can. I don't think it's accurate to use the attention seekers online of them as the model for the rest of them. Considering how most people online are like to begin with. Not to say the vast majority of them don't need some fucking therapy beyond "gender therapy".

The thing about panicking for her life though, the ponies never posed a direct thread to Dash's life. Not once did they imply they were going to hurt her. I think the intention was they only "went after her" because she sold them the cookies and they wanted to shake her down for more like the way Pinkie did earlier on. Now if they wanted to eat her because she looks like the cookies, then her life is threatened. But they never said that.

In the end Dash was scared when she was cornered because she was trying to keep the cookies that were making her friends sick away from them but was powerless and overwhelmed. ...also maybe a bit of a fear of being infected with it as well from contact.

Of course it was too fucking far, but I guess that was the point. Fluttershy thought she was being attacked by a timberwolf at night alone with only her panzy animal friends with her.

I think that Vinyl being the DJ in that episode was a pretty good choice, it made sense. It was better than her popping into the Trixie episode or playing an old recorder in HWT to me.

I'd still rather have them be less frequent. Derpy's just more fun to me as the cameo character. She's always doing something cute. Vinyl and Octavia are usually just standing around not doing anything that we haven't already seen before.
