The A frame I used was sturdy as fuck. It wasn't going anywhere, it was wedged in good. The car was on the ground on its wheels, no jack. If I did need one it would have been on jack stands, which are rated for 3000 pounds each, which there would be 2 of. The car in question weighs 3180 pounds, and half of the car's weight is still on the rear wheels.

If you get under a car that's jacked up with no stands, you're a retard and asking for it to fall on you. After it's on the stands it's 100% safe unless you put the stands under the floorboard or something not load bearing.

I worked as a mechanic assistant for a few years back when I was poor, as punishment from my mother for not doing anything worthwhile with my time.
I hated every second of being under the car. We had those things you use to lift the car,those small tracks, those sometimes slipped down under. It was fucking crazy, I always got away two meters when they started the car and tried to go over those ramps, because fuck, that's scary.
Another time, some retard didn't put the fucking hydraulic jack right and the damned car fell under. Luckily nobody was under it, or I am sure that wouldn't have been pretty.
So yeah, I think I have good reasons to not want to go under a car ever again.
