The EQG is far girlier than FIM is; At least FIm doesn't have forced romance subplots.

The only really girly thing about FIM at the moment is their insistence on putting hearts in the background and architecture. Like Stranger than fanfiction was 100% gender neutral, if not more male oriented.

I say that because many boys see the MLP logo on shit and instantly avoid it. Without that logo and Hasbros clever marketing skills, I believe they could market an EG show to both genders depending on what the show is actually about.

Little boys wouldn't want to watch a show about romance and cliche hs stories. MLP made somewhat sense since it wasn't overly girly. The thing is EQG is overly girly.

And they'd have alot easier time marketing FIM at boys than EQG anyways, which is why they have GOH horse toys, not GOH horse girl toys.

The minis saved EQG from cancellation, but the near total collapse of the franchise means that Hasbro will likely minimize investment and concentrate on expanding FiM's demographics. Notice how much more attention is being paid to the FiM movie than either the show or EQG. Based on the extensive cast and talent they're bringing in, it looks like they intend the movie to be a cultural phenomenon that will draw in a whole bunch of new viewers and precipitate several more years of FiM. No such grand event seems to be planned for EQG.

Equestria Girls deserves a finale or a series (though I was of the opinion the best time to create a series was after Rainbow Rocks). They keep raising the stakes with each movie (last time Midnight Sparkle nearly collapsed reality, it's kind of hard to top that).
