You laugh now but Celestia's final sacrifice scene is probably going to cause an enormous shitstorm for a few reasons. Also might win the show an award, it's really well done and Nicole did an incredible job on the voicing for that scene. Definitely the most emotional scene in the entire show and after it's aired people will not forget it.

Ironically also the first time that Celestia gets to actually beat the bad guy instead of Twilight and friends.

Yeah she does it at the cost of her life, it's actually one of the more brutal scenes that the show's had. Celestia completely vaporizes the main villain of the finale with a beam of concentrated sunlight. Not instantly either, I mean there's no gore or anything obviously but the villain screams as they burn and turn to ash which then scatters in the breeze. It's a lot like if you took Sombra's death and made it slightly more drawn out and brutal.

I was honestly surprised that they could keep the rating when I saw that part. But I guess what counts is that there's no gore or physical violence, just really intense pony laser beams.

It all felt super rushed. The episode was just fucking songs until it ended, and even though Twilight has saved her friends before, this time she now deserves to be an Alicorn. The episode could have been paced better, and maybe a different concept. Thought it was a horrible way to introduce Alicorn Twilight, and as a result, it's one of the worst episodes in the whole series for me.
