Season 4 was all about shoving Twilight's adjustment to wings in our face. Power Ponies was the most cringy shit filler episode besides Show Stoppers and so was Bats. Also it was revealed Pinkie might be related to the most shit tier pony in the entire show. If season 3 had more episodes I would rank it above season 4 in a heartbeat. The finale was the only decent thing.

I like S1 the best because it has the most consistently good episodes with almost all of the episode ranging from the 8-10 rating which I can't say as much for season 3, 4, and 6
I do think there is a certain magic to Season 1 as well and this shouldn't be an invalid reason to like it, I get so autistically happy when watching some of the early episodes while also not hating what the show became, S2 and S5 are close though, S2 is a classic and I was genuinely enthralled with S5
S4 has a lot of clunkers IMO but it also had some of the best episodes in the series too so I don't know, I'm anautistic nigger, faggoty anne

Seasons 2 and 5 are my favorites so far. I had lots of fun with season 4 in some parts, Rarity Takes Manehatten, Pinkie Pride, and Filli Vanilli being my favorites, but seasons 2 and 5 despite stuff like MMDW and Princess Spike still had higher high points to me that put them over season 4.

I'm not even that guy but that episode did not "rely" on music, all of the songs were good and it was a pretty damn great episode, Best Night Ever was a definite 10/10 though and I prefer that episode over CLM, I'd also say that Cutie Mark Chronicles is up there as one of the all time greatest episdoes

I'm not saying it was a bad episode, it certainly was pretty good. But the fact is the conflict was pushed mostly by music, so yes the episode was padded out with music. Decent music, sure, and to it's credit it wasn't like MMC where a shit ton of plot was rushed through using music to condense it.
And the cutie mark designs themselves were rather lackluster, not counting the expectations set by earlier episodes of what they would be.

Well, when the episode is split between side story of them helping Pipsqueak win an election and an antagonist reforming, I feel like they might have done better to use the time for furthering DT's apparent development rather than resolve a lot of that through music.

For the record I don't hate musicals. Pinkie Pride is one of my top episodes.

The season of Princess Spike, What About Discord, Castle Sweet Castle, Make New Friends But Keep Discord, The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows, and Brotherhooves social is only marginally better than season 4. It pales in comparison to seasons 1 & 2. Season 6 thus far is better than season 5.
