Applejack has a big problem in that she lacks ANY motivation or dreams. This makes her probably the hardest character to write an episode for in MLP, as at least Fluttershy has discord and her history with Rainbow dash as a pegasi to give her episode ideas, and pinkie can be thrown into any zany situation and work.


Unfortunately, about all AJ has going for her at the moment is her family, and that gets pretty damned boring, PLUS it just ends up being a granny smith episode or applebloom episode in disguise half the time.


AJ really would do well with some sort of ambition in life being given to her to try and give the writers more to work with for her.

How about an episode wherein a human appears and stumbles upon Equestria and AJ is the first pony they see.

It'd be the most butt-blasting episode of all time, but potentially one of the best.

She's a workable character, but yeah putting the comic relief front and center generally won't write itself. Not well anyways.
