Post those power armor wearing ponies.
Their bodies would be like Bulk Biceps but even more ridiculous
Don't tempt me.
Been too long since we had a 40k thread on here.

Now THAT'S a get and a half!!
Right. I'll drop a couple more.
Hopefully someone else can join in here.

But aren't ponies heresy?
>>27970019
40k, but a lack of power armour here.
>>27970022
Double Dubs...
Friendship is magic, and magic is heresy.
Ponies themselves aren't heretical.
>>27970046
But they are xenos
>>27970046
This one, (I know, not marines), is so fitting when you consider Celestia's VA (Nicole Oliver), also did the voice for the Farseer Taldeer in Dawn Of War.
>>27970054
True.
The argument has been made before as to what the Imperium would do if they found the planet where My Little Pony takes place.
It's widely accepted that it depends who finds it.
A puritan Inquisitor would likely have the whole lot of them killed, and then just take the planet.
A radical Inquisitor or Rogue Trader would more likely see the residents as relatively harmless (which they are, to the point of being a bit naive), and would set up trade. Equestria would then become, basically, an agri-world.
>>27970103
An ancient screencap, and a valid argument.

Okay, I'll upload my own crossover comic. Need to get back on with this.

If they would prove useful, probably.
Plus, the ponies do act like humans anyway. They're a lot less alien than they look.
>>27970232
I think it basically boils down to the fact of Magic = Psyker. Would the discoverer realise the ponies are in complete control of their magical abilities, or would they declare them dangerous as rogue psykers?
>>27970257

It'd be a pretty short (and frankly crap) story if it ended there.
This story is supposed to fit in with canon, so no lasting harm can come to any of the ponies.
(Doesn't stop me including a few... interesting fights though).
Yep, this is in the story.
>>27970335

It's a ratling sniper.

They probably just crossed paths and are busy beating the pounding the ever-loving crap out of each other. I don't think World Eaters need too much of an excuse to fuck with the Thousand Sons.
>>27970314
It's: "Skulls for his throne!" and not "Skulls for the Skullthrone." by the way.
>>27970353
The basic background for the story goes like this.
1) The staff is located by Ahriman, who collects artefacts. (It's actually Illuminarum- Lorgar Aurelian's crozius. The Primarch hurls the weapon at an Ultramarines thunderhawk in the Horus Heresy novel 'Betrayer', after making planetfall to rescue Angron, then uses psychic power to crash the aircraft. He never retrieves his weapon).
2) Since this world is under loyalist control, Ahriman arranges for a Chaos warband to attack the world, thinking in the confusion he can acquire the weapon.
3) During that conflict, Celestia's operative finds the staff, realising it's power (been stuck gathering warp energy for near 10,000 years), and contacts the princess.
>>27970380
No its Skulls for the Skull Throne!
>>27970428
4) The loyalist guard and the Chaos Warband basically kick the crap out of each other to the point there's sod all left. The last few guardsmen are rescued by Twilight and her friends, and, since they've nothing to go back to, agree to help. (Life debt).
There's a Sentinel pilot amongst them, who doesn't approve. He follows orders, but won't acknowledge the ponies much.
5) The day after the ponies and these guard meet, Ahriman makes planetfall. He breaks the seal on the staff, then gets distracted for a few seconds by a fight outside the building the staff is in.
This is enough time for a certain pegasus to grab the staff.
Twilight stays to keep Ahriman busy whilst the others get to safety.
The ensuing fight was fun to write, and I'm looking forward to drawing it out, (aside from marines are a pain to draw).
>>27970474
There's 2 different iterations.
Skulls for the Skull throne!
Or
Skulls for the Throne of skulls!
Not much of a difference I know.
>>27970370
Given your reaction, probably not a good idea.
The story is up on Fimfiction, but with a different title. (The Mission, which was a temporary title until I could think of something more interesting).
Here. Only someone in to both 40k, and ponies could really get the joke here.
>>27970529
>>27970541
Yep...
>>27970232
We can't say for sure. For all intents and purposes, Tolkien himself said we couldn't come close to understand the inhabitants of Middle-Earth because they spoke no English, not even related languages. Humanity had (emphasis on past tense) good relation with Eldar and seem somewhat diplomatic with Tau.
>>27970257
Now I have to use the puritan versus radical distinction. A good deal of inquisitors deem all psykers as abominations to be usedGolden Throne :^)or dealt away with.

Tolkien? As a professional linguist and the inventor of the fantasy genre as we know it he would write out the connection between mythology, tonges and culture in detail.
Wh40k? Lexicanum and wh40k.wikia as of new. The former is slower and more sourced, the latter is "more free" in its expression, but has a great deal more info.
There are dedicated blogs and you may want to lurk in /tg/.
>>27970103
>A radical Inquisitor or Rogue Trader would more likely see the residents as relatively harmless (which they are, to the point of being a bit naive), and would set up trade. When nothing of real value could be gained they would erdicate the native civilizations and set the lush planet up for colonization, earning influence, trade income, and Imperial Brownie Points. Equestria would then become, basically, an agri-world.

Actually it's the Forgeworld Daemon they made for the Vraks books.

I tried on the earlier ones to put a forgeworld toy in each army.
All Chaos factions will work together as long as there's something to be gained.

Person who asked for pictures.
I like it, and I really wish that I have enough money to get some rhinos, though I am happy that I got a devastator and Stormhawk for about $60.
How do you paint your marines? Do you paint them after you assemble them, or do you paint them first before assembling them? I am trying to find a better way because I am having a pain in the ass painting the torso with the weapon fucking covering it.
>>27970324
its funny.
>>27971083
3 times a week usually. Pretty good thanks.
>>27971591
Marines? Usually paint them in pairs. Fully assembled, then painted.
Vehicles, I usually partly assemble, paint, then complete assembly, then clean up. (If you look at that Sunset Shimmer rhino back door pic, there's no tracks on it there).

Apologies for the quality on this one. Took the pic with my phone, and it's kinda blurry.
>>27978328
That force was collected over quite some time.
Most of the marines are from the 'Assault on Black Reach' sets, and cost around £8-£10 per squad.
The titans are all scratch-built, so Warhounds cost me about £25 at most in materials, and the Reaver a bit more. Probably nearer £45.
Those Thunderhawks I reckon cost me about £35 each to build.
Even so, the army set me back a good £500. Mainly that knight (Zecora) and the Fire Raptor gunship I got from Forgeworld (Gilda).
Also, the transports. Most I picked up when I had a bit of cash spare, and felt like painting a character on something.
I enjoyed doing these, which is the important thing.

>>27971373
Ah yes...
Tau...
A good army for beginners that don't like to move about much, and the tactics are simple.
Blow away anything that gets too close as quickly as possible, because if they get in close combat...
YOU'RE SCREWED!!
>>27978769
There is autism, a mental disorder that is characterized by a deficiency in communication especially regarding and understanding emotions and empathy; it can include compulsive use of patterns and extreme attention to detail as well as obsession with certain objects such as planes, trains, and robots or specific media.
Autism: 4chan edition - anything I don't like, anything you enjoy that would get you picked on in middleschool. Also pointing out if someone is wrong using facts.
>>27979157
>tau
>assaults ever closing with markerlight boosted overwatch AND multi-unit overwatch
Yeah naw, tau only are weak in the psychic department now you never get to close to melee unless the player wants you there.
>>27979158
So, plain English version:
Autism is basically a flaw characterised by not caring what anyone else thinks.
From my point of view, that can be brought about 2 ways.
1) Someone just can't seem to relate. It's in their make up. This is probably what the basic form of Autism is.
2) Too much bullying and lack of sympathy can make you cold hearted. So you react by just giving up caring what anyone thinks any more.
>>27979183
I'm the sort of player that'd charge your Fire Warrior units with a knight, simply because you can't damage the damn thing.
Or Contemptor dreadnoughts.
Or Ironclads.
Also, I swear by air support. I know the Tau are kinda dangerous against air units now, but I will always prioritise the destruction of anti air units.
Upset my mates in the last game I played. (Literally 3 hours ago).
Fielded 2 Storm Talons, a Storm Raven, and a Fire Raptor in the same game.
Turn 4 I was the only player with aircraft, and they were shredding everything on the ground.
(Probably making up for one of the other players who had fielded 21 terminators and 3 dreadnoughts in a 2000 point (approx) battle.
>>27970950
I can't wait for an excuse to post this in /tg/
>>27979213
It's not a lack of caring it's an inability to communicate and understand emotions and desires. And individual with severe autism does not understand that his screaming and throwing books at children because his McDonald's toy was blue and not green like he expected upsets others. He thinks your angry expression is simply because you hate him so he is going to urinate on something you like.
He is going to stand up and run around the room flapping his arms like a chicken because he enjoys the picture of the P-31 Mustang he saw in a book and cannot express his excitement without physically stemming out. He is going to scream and break every pencil he has because there is a field trip today in class and that is a disruption to his everyday schedule and he cannot cope with a change no matter how tiny because it gives him panic attacks.
He may dive into a fandom that has many easily created and drawn characters like the Sonic franchise because he can self-insert an OC that is loved and accepted by others despite his quirks.
It's almost an extreme for of narcissism as for most people on the spectrum the world literally stops beyond their immediate interaction.
>>27979267
Most modern tau players don't even bring firewarriors anymore beyond the minimum 2x5. It's pathfinders, everything else is either crisis suits/ghostkeel or riptides/stormsurge.
>>27979364
You'd probably get kicked out for posting pony stuff on another board.
It has been done a few times before.
Most of the time that force has a 'Marmite' reaction.
Most players don't give a toss what's on the models as long as they're painted, and a character themed army is a sign that the owner is out to have fun with the game rather than play overly competitively.
The other side will be in uproar for exactly the same reason. They'll be those players that take the game seriously. A lot of them are 'Win at any cost' players too, which are no fun to play against.
Funny.
That army, used at a store would likely get a game because it's unusual, and also will get an opponent who isn't a jerk, because it'll be someone that wants to have a laugh.
Is there a downside to this?!
>>27979364
They've seen 'em a dozen times. Just like the ponified guns on /k/. 98% of the people don't care, the other 1.5% are barneyfag-tier spergs, and the last 0.5% is /mlp/ posters responding to their own post in order to create drama. All it does is serve to derail threads and keep the age-old hate fires burning from everyone because it a few people can't not freak out.
>>27979409
Truth be known, I have a Tau army, but it hasn't been used since 4th edition. I just moved on. Might dig them out and dust them off for another game some time. My mates that I game against at weekend aren't impressed with that pony themed army.
Altogether, I think I have 15 different armies I can field.
Several at apocalypse strength.
>>27979472
I loved 4th edition era tau. I like firewarrior gunlines and hammerheads. I enjoyed broadsides and crisis suits.
But it just became GIANT FIGHTAN ROBOTS despite tau originally scoffing at titan-like opponents instead using superior air power and mobility. Thanks geedubs
>>27979472
Just going to list them.
(most of these were collected a long time ago now, and would cost me over double what I paid if I were to replace them now).
1) Pony marine force.
2) Hello Kitty marine force
3) Old Loyalist marine force
4) Chaos marines
5) Dark Angels
6) Space Wolves
7) Blood Angels
8) Emperor's Children WH30k. (Just started)
9) Tau
10) Eldar (My biggest army)
11) Dark Eldar (First release versions)
12) Orks
13) Sisters of Battle
14) Tyranids
15) Necrons
16) Astra Militarum
17) Chaos Daemons
18) Romaiyan (My own army I wrote rules up for)
I think that's it.
More than I thought!
>>27979504
I got miffed when they nerfed the broadsides.
Used to field 2 units of 3 of them, and a single hammerhead as my heavy support. (Blast template came in very handy).
>>27979554
They are still effective against light and medium armor they just aren't rape machines with the railgun anymore. Missilesides are fun as fuck in dense urban combat scenarios though.
>>27979944
It's really just missilesides though. Heavy railrifles just aren't worth it when you can get either proper S10 railguns or double fusion blasters on the vastly more mobile Crisis Suits.
