Previously:
>You pass your inspection.
>You and you friend Beans were picked to escort pieces of a meteor back to the Empire.
>You catch two pegasi trying to steal a strange stone from your carriage and chase them.
>Beans almost fell to his death but was saved by the ash colored pegasus.
>You come to an agreement and they hand over the tablet.
>On contact with it, your head is flooded with energy and everything goes white.

Nice trips
>>
(1/2)
>The pain in your head goes numb and gives way to a set of colors.
>Through the fuzziness you make out a set of six rectangles.
>They all have strange symbols on them that you can't quite place.
>That is, except for one, which you recognize as the stone plate with the embedded purple gem.
>>
(2/2)
>You are shaken awake by the sound of something akin to shattering porcelain.
>"What the hell is that!"
>"Oh dear. I'm sorry, did I startle you?"
>You open your eyes to see a unicorn nurse with a candy pink mane leaning over a bed next to your own.
>You deduce that whatever just happened ended up with you in a hospital of some kind.
>At another glance you notice the thief pony from before was the one in that bed.
>You push yourself upright.

>>27959455
Nice dubs btw
>>
>>27959472

Observe the commotion.

Nice symmetrical timestamp btw.
>>
>>27959472
ask what she's doing here.
>>
>>27959472
What's going on? Where are we?
>>
>You decide observe the commotion for a while.
>The grey thief pony, who you remember to be called Stargazer, retorts.
>"Yeah, you're damn right you startled me. You, you're using magic. Is that... how long have you been able to do that?"
>"Why, what do you mean?"
>"Magic, how long have you been able to use magic?"
>"Since I was a filly, why do you ask?"
>Woah woah woah.
>Magic?
>Now's the time to hop in.
>But first...
>You point your hoof at Stargazer.
"Hold on, wait, what is she doing here?"
>The nurse looks at you questioningly.
>"Aren't you two friends?"
>>
>>27959767
We've met.
>>
>>27959767
not really. where are we?
>>
"We've met."
>Stargazer refocuses her attention on the nurse.
>"Friends or not, you have magic!"
>She points at the nurse and continues in bewilderment.
>"Magic."
"B-but, that's not possible! You're lying."
>Magic hasn't existed in Equestria for hundreds of years, she must have hit her head or something.
>"No I'm not! Here, here, here."
>She grabs her pillow and point at it in her hooves.
>"Do the floaty thingy again!"
>The nurse looks at the two of you in confusion before looking back at the pillow.
>A blue aura forms around the pillow as it begins to float from her hooves.
>That's still impossible.
>R-right?
>The cogs start to turn in your head as you try to piece this whole thing together.
"Where are we?"
>"You are in Safe Hooves Hospital in Elmont, where else."
>You've never heard of a place called Elmont before.
>The nurse notices your apprehension and moves to diffuse the situation.
>"I need you to calm down hon. Why don't we all get acquainted first. I'm Candy Heart, pleasure to meet your waking selves."
>>
>>27960375
Glory Cascade. Does my unit know I'm here? Where's Beans?
>>
>>27960409
Yes, concern for our friend and desire to get a handle on the situation. Sounds like a good guard. Unrelated but what is our qtmark?

>"Well I'm, uh, Constellation, but you can call me Connie."
>Weird, her friend called her Stargazer earlier on the bridge.
>She points to the bed to her left.
>"Her over there, yeah, she's my friend. I can speak for both of us that it's nice to meet you."
"And I'm Glory Cascade."
>You look around for Beans; hopefully he's alright.
>With little effort, you spot him on the bed to your right.
>He seems completely unharmed.
"He's my partner -- er, partner in the guard."
>"The guard, oh? I never would've expected the bunch of you to be part of the watch with your cutie marks."
>Now that she mentions it, it's kinda true.
>With your cutie mark of a herald's trumpet and Beans's being, well, beans, it would be the last thing to expect.
>Every pony else's cutie marks were usually swords and shields and other guard paraphernalia.
>Well, you can say that your talent of motivating others could help improve unit morale.
>"Us two aren't part of the guard, thank you very much."
>You interrupt 'Connie' before she starts anything.
"So now that we're acquainted, can you tell us where we are? Does my unit know I'm here?"
>"Well, you're in the Safe Hooves Hospital in Elmont, which is on the island of Haven. The four of you were found outside the city gates after a flash of light and an explosion. And sorry Glory, I don't know what unit you're talking about. Haven hasn't had much of a military for centuries!"

While the QM for this quest is out for a bit, would you guys prefer it if we switch to a single thread? Or would you rather keep the two MCs separated?
>>
>>27960922
Just in general, there's no reason for there to be two separate stories or points of view at all.

But I guess if there are two of you, that would exclude one.
>>
>>27960922
Best stop here, lest we sound crazy.

Does the Halean Empire mean anything to you? Or the city of Triana? Perhaps Manehattan?
>>
>>27960985
"Soooo. By chance, does the Halean Empire mean anything to you? Or the city of Triana? Perhaps Manehattan?"
>"Nope, sorry hon."
>"Do you know about Equestria?"
>"Well, it does sound familiar. It may be part of a nursery rhyme or two, but I don't remember."
>"Okay, let me get this clear. We're on an island and you're not familiar with Equestria?"
>"Yes ma'am."
>Candy Heart looks behind her and spots the remains of whatever must've woken you up.
>"You know, I should probably clean that up and check up on some other ponies. Sorry."

>Okay Glory, get a hold of yourself.
>You're far away from home on an island that's never heard of Tiana, Manehattan, the Halean Empire, or even Equestria.
>There's no need to panic.
>Candy Heart interrupts your train of thought with a final note.
>"Oh, by the way, your little group can leave whenever you want. You're here as our guests, not as patients. Just give me a holler if you need anything."
>The nurse leaves you alone with a passed out Beans, the other two ponies, and frantic, jumbled thoughts.
>>
>>27961239
Wait! When we arrived, Beans and I weren't wearing armor, were we? Did we have anything with us?
>>
>>27961239
Ask the thief if she knows anything about that tablet they stole. It... it did something that brought us here once we touched it.
>>
>You pull yourself together.
>Let's take this one step at a time.
>One, Beans.
>He's fine, so you won't wake him until you need him.
>Two, your equipment.
>It's not by you, but if this place is like the hospitals back in the Empire, there will be a box with all of your stuff in it.
>Three, those pegasi.
>They grabbed that tablet specifically out of a pile of rocks, they must know something.
>It's best to approach calmly.
>There's no point in making a scene.
"So about that tablet."
>"Yeah, about that tablet. What was that?"
"You grabbed that tablet for a reason; what did you want with it?"
>Hey, don't look at me. We were only assigned to find out what you had and what you wanted from it. Ask her if you want to know why she took it."
>She pokes the other pegasus on the nose.
>You hear a mumble coming from the bed.
>"Alright, alright. I'm awake. What do you want?"
>>
>>27961976
I want to know everything you know about that tablet. What it is, why you stole it, and why it did this to us.
>>
>>27961976

Wake up Beans so we can catch him up along with the pegasus's friend at the same time.
>>
(1/2)
>"Uh, I kinda wanna find out why we're on an island."
"Yeah, and I want to know everything you know about that tablet."
>The pony, Asha, if you remember correctly, snaps out of her sleep.
>"Whoa whoa whoa wait, what?"
>Stargazer (Connie?) replies.
>"Okay, we're in a place that has never heard of Equestria and ponies can use magic. Kinda wanna wake up for this."
"The tablet. What you know about the tablet."
>"Wait what? First of all, I don't know anything about the tablet. I took it since it looked like our objective and I thought it would do good if we took it instead of just watched. Second of all, what island?"
"Well it sounds like we're all in the dark."
>>
(2/2)
>After a while Beans wakes up and you explain the situation.
>You all decide it's best to stay together for now -- at least until you know what your options are.
>You move for the door, checking around to see where your equipment is.
>The first step you take out the door greets you with the sight of an older looking stallion sitting next to an assortment of your belongings, the tablet held in his hooves.
>>
>>27962546
If you wouldn't mind, sir, would it be alright if we took our stuff and got going?
>>
>>27962546
Put on our armor and gather our stuff.

I'd rather not walk around armed on foreign territory, especially if it's out of place, but we don't have many other options, and we can't exactly leave it.
>>
>>27962546

Ask him to explain the entire history of his civilization so we can figure out where (and when?) we are.
>>
>>27962564
>>27962875
>>27962921
>Though you're off put that this pony is just rummaging through your stuff, again, there's no need to cause a scene.
>You approach him carefully.
"If you wouldn't mind, sir, would it be alright if we took our stuff and got going?"
>He looks at you and his eyes go wide.
>"Ah! This is your stuff, is it?"
"Yes, it is."
>You gather your armor and begin to put it on.
>You weapons might be a bit threatening, but you take them while the others grab their things.
>The pony points to the tablet and continues to question you.
>"And this here specifically is yours too?"
>"I guess you can say that," Stargazer spits out.
>She's tapping her hooves in annoyance.
>"I don't know about you guys, but we should probably catch something to eat and then look around a bit."
"Wait Connie."
>Should you use her fake name?
>You decide not to question it.
"I can call you Connie, right?"
>"That's my name, yeah."
"Well here."
>You look at the stallion, hoping he might have some answers for you.
"Mister, how much do you know about history?"
>"More than you wish to know. But we must be quick, we are in very a public place."
>He gives the tablet to Stargazer, who immediately shoves it in her saddlebag.
>"Come, hurriedly, I have much to tell and ask of you."
>>
>>27963370
Very well. Lead the way.

I assume 'Connie' and Asha will come along, so no need to tell them to unless they don't seem like they're coming.
>>
>>27963396
"Very well. Lead the way."
>The stallion gathers himself onto his hooves and takes lead.
>'Connie,' however has her protests.
>"How long will this take?"
>"You said you're hungry? I'll treat you a meal once we've arrived at my abode."
>>
>>27963561
Continue following.
>>
>>27963585
>You continue to follow the stallion.
>While food wasn't necessary to get you to come along, it certainly does help your cause.
>Snaking through a labrynth of hallways and lobbies, you pass by Candy Heart, who wishes you the best and reminds you that you're always welcome.
>Before long, you make it to the exit and burst out into the streets of Elmont.
>Quite frankly, you're blown away by the sight.
>Stunning half-timbered stores and houses are in every direction.
>Ponies are using magic left and right.
>Hell, you swear you see a pegasus flying.
>Suddenly, you notice that a bunch of ponies are just staring your way, as if some monster just burst out of the hospital.
>Their manes all glisten in the sunlight, and you realize that you're desperately out of place.
>While sparkly hair is the last thing to worry about, it does remind you that your group does not belong here.
>You need to find a way home.

Okay, that's it for tonight. We'll be back tomorrow morning. Criticism and critique is welcomed, please tell us what we're doing wrong and help make us unbad.
>>
>>27964046
Being decked out with armor and weapons don't help either. But this is crazy, ask Beans what he thinks of all this.

If we have magic now maybe Beans can already feel it. The innate connection with nature and the Earth that Erf ponies have.

>another CYOA that thinks it deserves two threads for less than 10 anons
wonder how long until scruffy notices and deals with it like he did with the dungeonfags.
>>
>>27966276
It kind of needs two threads to keep everything organized. It's being played from two separate perspectives simultaneously after all.
>>
>>27966694
so figure something else out. use red and blue images or some shit, im sure you can think of something.
>>
>>27966704
I'm not the one doing it. It'd still be a mess. There are plenty of other threads that are unnecessary multiples, at least this one has an excuse.
>>
>>27966276
>another
Can you name a single example other than this one?
>>
>>27966912
dungeon. it was in the post. scruffy started pruning their second thread.
>>
>>27967122
Dungeon and OiE are roleplaying, that's why they get scruffed. Each anon controls their own character. This is CYOA, where every anon in the thread controls one character. According to the mods, it's interactive storytelling and not roleplaying.
That's why Dungeon isn't allowed, but this is.

Before you try to argue, that's what the moderators say, not me.
>>
>>27967134
>Dungeon and OiE are roleplaying, that's why they get scruffed.
You just ignored me. Dungeon had 2 threads, now they have 1. It was scruffed because you don't need two threads for one thing. Their one thread isn't being pruned, but their second one always is.
>>
>>27967179
I didn't ignore you. The fact that one got scruffed has no bearing on this thread, since it is a different situation.
>>
>>27967188
in your mind it might be, but the fact remains theres two threads for one story. plenty of writers do perception swaps without starting a brand new thread for each character, and im sure you guys can manage that fantastic feat as well.

Meh, it's two different writers writing two different perspectives.

I guess it comes down to this.
You can sit here and whine all you want, but at the end of the day, this has no effect on you. CYOA threads don't harm you in any way any more than the dozen fetish generals or greentext generals. I enjoy the story, and a few other anons obviously do as well.
You have filters to hide threads you don't like, use them.
>>
>>27967229

I think we're safe, especially if you're reading this right now. Anyways, we've been back for a while and will continue soon, it's just that we're preparing a bit. We'll work it out with one thread one way or another, there's no need to fuss. Have a quick Glory for now.

>You stumble along your way, following the blue unicorn stallion.
>After making way through the city's marketplace and plaza, you arrive to a building right on the docks.
>It's nothing exceptional compared to the other buildings in town, but it's impressive for who you can assume to be a single older pony.
>The stallion pulls the front door open with his magic and invites you in.
>Something akin to a magical laboratory greets you on the inside.
>There's potions and bookshelves and vials over burners and all other sorts of magical goodness all over the place.
>It's rather odd to have burners going while out of the house, but you dismiss it with magic.
>The stallion walks over to a table and, like clockwork, lifts various glass apparatus off a table with magic and neatly places them on another overcrowded workbench.
>Impressive.
>With a setup like this, you almost expect him to pull out a cauldron and start reciting rhymes.
>But no, he simply brings out a few chairs to the table and tells your group to get situated.
>"I'll be in just a moment back with some food. You four make yourselves at home."
>He trots out of the room and into another, letting you and the others be bewildered at his abode.
>>
>You do your best to ignore the staring ponies.
>Being completely decked out in armor and weapons probably doesn't help you blend in, but there's not much you can do.
>All you do is silently follow the stallion leading the way.
>Eventually you come upon a nice building situated on the docks.
>He opens the door with his magic and invites you inside.
>When you step in, you're again blown away by what you see.
>You bask in the sight of bookshelves and potions and other magic-looking paraphernalia.
>The unicorn stallion swiftly clears a table and pulls up a few chairs.
>"I'll be in just a moment back with some food. You four make yourselves at home."
>And with that, he leaves the room to deal with scrounging up some food.

I just now noticed how they'really doing it. To be fair this is the Glory thread.

Anywho, let the two confer a most their friends. Gazer tells Asha she jumped the gun and made herself an alias when it was unnecessary.
>>
>>27968284
>You trot over to one of his books and gesture to Asha to do the same.
>You pick one up and look at its title.
>It's written in plain old Equestrian, thankfully.
>Conjurations and Conjugations.
>You flip to the table of contents and look at the various headers.
>Chapter 1: Magic as a Network.
>Chapter 2: Nodes and You.
>Chapter 3: Prestidigitation.
>Asha taps your shoulder.
>"Hey, lookie here."
>You look over to what Asha is gesturing to and you see a six-pronged star emblazened onto another book's page.
"Hey, that's the gem on the tablet."
>"Yeah, I know."
>You flip the pages and investigate.
"Oh yeah, and hey, I'm sorry about that Connie thing. I kinda jumped the gun and it was completely unnecessary."
>"It's okay, but look here."
>On the book is a set of six symbols.
>A diamond, an apple, a lightning bolt, a ballon, a butterfly, and the six-pronged star in the middle.
>"That's just like in the dream I had."
>>
>>27968248
"Hey Beans."
>"Yeah?"
"I forgot to ask you this earlier, but do you feel any different?"
>"Well what do you mean?"
"Well, you're an earth pony, right?"
>"Last time I checked, yeah I was."
"I'm serious, Beans. But didn't earth ponies used to have a connection to nature and the Earth? Maybe by the chance we have magic, you might feel something."
>"Well I kinda do feel something deep in my stomach."
>He looks down and rubs his barrel.
>"I think it means I'm hungry or something."
"Beans! We're stuck on some random island and you're still cracking jokes?"
>"Cmon Glory, I'm just trying to lighten the mood. If you really want to know, I'm not sure. I feel healthier and stronger than I did before, but I'm not sure if that means anything."

Gonna have to let this slow down or stop for a bit. Sorry for pulling this on you guys as soon as it started. Life happened.

>The stallion returns back to the room floating four plates beside him.
>He places them down on the cleared table and motions for all of you to eat.
>"Come, come. Eat now. I have much to say to you all."
>You and Asha take your places at the table and listen to him.
>"First of all, I am Sea Scribe, and I study much into magic and prophecies. It happens so that my studies have lead me to you four. I see that two of you have noticed already the star in my book, the star that your tablet also has."
>You narrow your eyes at him.
>Something's fishy here.
>There's no way he could've just stumbled upon you and the tablet.
>"This may be suspicious sounding, but I know about you four. I know that this isn't your home and that magic you are not accustomed to. You all are from Equestria, are you not?"
>You pause.
>How does he know?
"Yes, we are. But how would you know? It seems like Equestria is nothing more than a fairytale here."
>"I mentioned that I am a studier of prophecies, did I not? Well, you four are very special ponies."
>He pauses and scrutinizes all of you before continuing.
>"An old prophecy states that magic would return to Equestria, 'restoring ancient powers over nature, flight, and spell-casting.' The prophecy says that a new era would be heralded by the falling of a star, and here you have the star."
>>
"What's the heaviest thing you've lifted? You should try picking something heavier up."
>"I can't really do that when we're in some stranger's house. What do you want me to do, pick up his bookshelves?"
>The stallion enters the room with plates of food floating beside him.
>"Okay, serious? Remind me to do something like that later, okay?"
>The food is placed on the table and chairs are pulled out, the stallion inviting you to eat.
>"Come, come. Eat now. I have much to say to you all."
>You and Beans walk over to the table and sit, meeting with Asha and Stargazer again.
>"First of all, I am Sea Scribe, and I study much into magic and prophecies. It happens so that my studies have lead me to you four. I see that two of you have noticed already the star in my book, the star that your tablet also has."
>You look to where Asha and Stargazer investigated, and see that there is in fact the same purple star in his book.
>Weird.
>"This may be suspicious sounding, but I know about you four. I know that this isn't your home and that magic you are not accustomed to. You all are from Equestria, are you not?"
>Okay, weirder.
>Stargazer seems to be taken aback by Sea Scribe's knowledge.
>"Yes, we are. But how would you know? It seems like Equestria is nothing more than a fairytale here."
>"I mentioned that I am a studier of prophecies, did I not? Well, you four are very special ponies."
>He stops to inspect each one of you individually before resuming.

>"Is there any more to this prophecy?"
>"No, sadly. I do have a few theories, however, but I must explain magic to you first."
>You all perk up at the mention of magic.
>Flying is magic, right?
>You'd like to know how to fly.
>"Magic is a system of connected nodes. A node can be of a source or a drain, or even both when passing magic from node to node. Sources can come from friendship, love, life, or the like. Drains are where magic is used. This island, Haven, acts as a water spring for magic and is the source greatest of all. The reason why Equestria ever had magic is because of things called the Elements of Harmony, the six symbols that you see here."

>Sea Scribe raises an eyebrow.
>"A little enthusiastic, yes? Unfortunately, just because you are surrounded by magic does not mean you are connected. You have to train and figure out for yourself how to tap into these nodes. I cannot teach you that.
>"Anyways, these elements used to reside in Equestria, but were transferred somehow back here to Haven. Therefore, the prophecy must clearly mean that you must gather the elements and through them return to your homeland."
>>
"How do I, or we, use magic?"
>It sounds crazy saying it...
>"Yeah! I'd like to know how to fly."
>"Imagine how much easier our missions would be if we could fly, Stargazer!"
>Sea Scribe is slightly amused.
>"A little enthusiastic, yes? Unfortunately, just because you are surrounded by magic does not mean you are connected. You have to train and figure out for yourself how to tap into these nodes. I cannot teach you that.

Why? Why us? Where are the Elements then?

Glory finds it kinda fuckin' bullshit that we can't use magic.
>>
>>27974957
So just flap our wings and hope for the best. Any idea of where we should start looking?
>>
>>27975232
Here's the Stargazer thread, map included!

"Why? Why us? Where are the Elements then?"
>"Do not ask why us. It has to be destiny. As for the elements, they were scattered around the island and protected by forces of yore. Where they are? I do not know. In my investigations of Haven history, there have been rumors that something powerful is locked inside the temple of the same island of Thymel. I suspect that it is one of the elements."
>"Why should we trust you? You could be trying to send us out to die here."
>"Yes, it seems ridiculous, I realize, but why should I send you to die? Do you have any other ideas to get home?"
>He opens a nearby drawer and floats a scroll out.
>As it unrolls, it is clearly a map.
>"There's no way out of these isles. Sail one way and you return the other side."
>>
>>27975236
What? Well where are we now?
>>
>>27975236

If Haven is completely cut off from Equestrian how do they know of it? Why do we speak the same language?
>>
"Well, where are we now?"
>Stargazer shows you the map.
>"So we're here in Elmont near Shivelight Grove and Ambertide Waters. He said that we can probably find an element near Thymel, which is there. But what happens after Thymel? We start island hopping and pray to the gods? Just unrolling a map before us won't do much. We don't even know what most of these mean. What's Pacer's Point, for example?"
>"Pacer's Point is a location highly renowned for its view of the Floating Isles, but that's unimportant. But I must apologize, for I don't know. This map is actually very empty, as Haven is full of surprises. Maybe the temple shall hold a clue? I just suppose."
>Stargazer is visibly perplexed.
>"Well I dunno what to do then."
>You jumble all of this new information in your head.
>Not all of this is making sense.
"Here's a question. If Haven is completely cut off from Equestria, how do ponies know of it here? Why do we speak the same language?"
>"Haven wasn't always cut off from the rest of the world. It's rumored that Haven is the source of all life, and thus is why it is such a strong source of magic. I assume that language just kept itself alive."
>>
>Stargazer tilts her head.
>"Would it be better to walk to Hunter's Cove or to take a boat?"
>"Walking would be free, if that is what you ask. It takes maybe three hours by land, thirty minutes by sea."
>>
>>27975622
what are some known dangers around here?
>>
>>27975622
We need currency. Need need money for supplies, transportation, and food. Not necessarily food because we're ponies but still.
>>
>"How much would a boat cost?"
>"More than I could afford. Perhaps ask a mariner for a ride? But if you have to ask, I've heard of somepony selling at a few thousand bits."
>Yeah, no.
>Maybe Beans can talk somepony in to help us out.
"Speaking of money, we're gonna need some for supplies and transportation and perhaps food. Any idea where to get some?"
>"Haven is friendly to bartering, so you may be blessed with luck there. Jobs are an option also."
"Are there any local dangers?"
>"There are your natural dangers such as bears, timberwolves, manticores, you name it. That's the only reason for a militia here, to fend off wild animals. Haven is a unique island with grasslands to swamp to mountain, you can find nearly anything."
>>
>>27975948
Huh. Glad we nabbed those spears aren't you Beans?
>>
>>27975981
>"I guess we should split up and look for some jobs then. Is there anything else we should know?"
>"You all are welcome to stay here as you please. Make this your home. You can leave some of your belongings here, especially the tablet. We wouldn't want to lose it, now would we?"
>The question flies over every pony's head.
>"Okay guys, what should we do, how're we gonna handle this?"
"Maybe Beans and I can go hunting or something, we have armor and weapons. Glad we nabbed those spears, huh Beans?"
>Asha squirms a bit.
>"Eh, yeah you guys go do that. I'll keep to stuff less... kill-y. But yeah, it's about 11 AM, right? We can meet back here tonight."
>"Sounds good."
"Agreed."
>"Don't forget to leave the tablet behind."
>>
>>27976311
Let's hide it under the bed or something.
>>
>>27976311
Maybe we can offer protection to any boat that will take us to Thymel? Let's go.
>>
>>27976452
>>27976482
>Stargazer thankfully keeps the tablet for now.
>You all walk out into the street and suggest to Stargazer that she hide the tablet somewhere, perhaps under her bed.
>She nods and walks off with Asha.
"So Beans."
>"So Glory. Whatcha thinking?"
"I'm thinking that we can probably offer some protection to some of these boats and hitch a ride to Thymel."
>"Why'd they need protection? Didn't he say that there was no military? There's probably no reason for a military then."
"Well I dunno, you have a better idea?"
>"Nope, not really. Maybe I can sell you and get quite a pretty penny."
"Shut up."
>You punch him in the shoulder.
"Hey, ow! Well you did say we could go hunting. So what, you wanna convince some pony that there's sea monsters they need protection from or you wanna go poke stuff with spears?"
>>
>>27976809
We could check with the local militia to see if there are any problems that need taken care of.
>>
>>27976809
maybe look for a pony that wants to travel and we can guard them while walking? if the boat idea doesn't work.
>>
>>27976809
I just assumed that since we're in magic fariytale land that sea monsters would be a thing. Let's go ask around.
>>
>>27976835
>>27976853
>>27976868
>You and Beans decide to walk and ask around.
>Hey, there's magic here, you don't really know what's possible.
>There really could be sea monsters after all.
>You walk up to a random stallion.
"Sir, do you know if any boats or ponies need escort on their travels?"
>"Nope, no idea, sorry. There's been some giant squids knocking a few boats around here and there, but I'm clueless."
>Well that settles the sea monster question.
>You continue to ask around.
>You find out that a lot of the animals, sea and land, have been upset lately and been attacking ponies.
>Perhaps the local militia will have a few jobs from this, or maybe a pony would enjoy some escorting from town to town.
>You locate and enter the town hall and guild, inquiring if there was any problems to take care of.
>They realize the elevated danger of traveling recently and offer you B30 to escort an delivery of fish to Hunter's Cove, a 6 hour round trip.
>>
>>27977178
Yeah sure we can do that. It will let us see the landscape.
>>
(1/2)
>You and Beans confer with each other and decide to take the offer.
>Being an escort would serve to be a great opportunity to see the landscape as well.
>They point you towards the north gate and tell you to wait until carts of fish come.
>You oblige and head on over to the city gate.
>On the way, Beans breaks the silence between you two.
>"Hey, whaddya think about all this?"
"About what? Haven?"
>"Yeah. Isn't it all kinda weird? This is the stuff of our childhood."
>He looks around himself at all the ponies.
>"Remember how we used to pretend that you could cast spells at me? Remember how we used to pretend we can fly? We're kinda living in that world now."
"It is pretty strange. I don't really know what to make of it honestly."
>You spend the rest of your walking and waiting time pondering about how your entire reality has been flipped inside out.

>Eventually, three earth ponies come along with carts of fish hitched to them.
>"I assume that you two are our escorts?"
"Yes, sir."
>"Good. Let's get going then."
>>
(2/2)
>You and Beans bump hooves and take your positions at the front and back of the convoy.
>It's kinda funny that you were teleported to an island where ponies can use magic, and here you are escorting a caravan.
>Some things never change.
>You take back this time, to prevent any of Bean's complaining of the fishes' smell.
>You regret the decision immediately as your group starts along its path.

>After passing by the last few houses on the outskirts of town you quickly discover what you believe to be shivelight grove.
>Scattered rays of light shine trough the think canopy.
>The further you travel the more algae ridden ponds you come across.
>It seems to be a light marsh, but with the solid road you see no reason to worry.
>That is, if you stay on the trail.

>Maybe you should take all this time to chat with Beans.
>He was always really enthusiastic about new things but he hasn't said much since you got here.
>You move up to talk to him, watching your back so nothing can steal from you this time.
>>
>>27978066
if i learn how to do magic can i cast spells at you? feeling any different? we're pretty lucky to be here huh?
>>
>>27978066
Man, I want to use magic so bad. So if we bring magic back to Equestria, what do you think that will do? It's kind of a big deal!
>>
"Seem familiar?"
>"Identical. Except now we're getting paid less."
"Hey I've been meaning to ask you an important question."
>Beans looks at you expectingly.
"If I learn how to do magic can I cast spells at you?"
>He gives a throaty chuckle.
"We're pretty lucky to be here, huh? Have you started feeling any different?"
>"Luck is one word for it. I definitely feel different, it's a little hard to place."
"Man, I want to use magic so bad. So if we bring magic back to Equestria, what do you think that will do? It's kind of a big deal!"
>Your enthusiasm starts to rub off on him and he smirks.
>"Yeah, it'd be huge. I'm just worried about what's going on back home while everypony thinks we're missing."
>>
>>27979177
Do you think they will be blame the republic?
>>
>>27979177
We're just two guards. That's not too big a deal is it? Dad might be worried though...
>>
>>27979177

Probably giving us a bunch of "posthumous" medals and shit. When we get back we're going to be the most highly decorated ponies in the guard.
>>
>>27979177
If we pull this off we'll be legends of equestrian history. The heroes who restored magic to Equestria we'll be living the good life beans.
