What I think RS3 needs is a shift between the balance of money and skills. As of now, a massive amout of cold hard cash is needed to get anywhere with the majority of skills, and some of the skills are useless except for quest requirements and capes. Cooking? Just buy the food. Divination? Buy the portents. Smithing? Lol, have fun with your rune scimmy, buy a whip.

It's also hyperfocued on combat, and drop tables of slayer monsters and bosses devalue the prices of stuff from gathering skills like Woodcutting and Farming. Yews and magics used to be a viable source of cash, but why cut them when a boss drops these logs by the hundreds?

Look at Smithing. It's a cashdump skill. What do you get for dumping the cash to 99? You can make level 40 items. I think it should be rebalanced to be more like Dungeoneeeing where level 90 Smithing and Mining will enable you to make a level 90 weapon from scratch. Same with WC and Fletching.

Clearly you've never heard of Dungeoneering leeches, Silverhawk feathers, etc. Mining, woodcutting, fishing, divination, and frankly all combat skills are significantly faster if you can dump money into them, especially if there's a special set like Magic Golem or Master Camouflage. Also, since those are the fastest methods possible, $1133 is an absolute highball estimate for those skills. Also, see the second video link. If you dump money in at the right time, you can essentially buy xp in any skill you want.

Combat doesn't get faster if you dump more money into weapons and armor, You should already have that shit as a base. What makes kills go faster is Herblore and Prayer, two extremely costly buyables. Cobat itself is already the best moneymaker in the game, so even if you have degradable armor, you should be able to fix it up with the money you've earned using that armor. But again, this takes an assload of time, which is something people who don't want to play this game want to invest.

Also, you seem very defensive. I was not attacking you, at all. I was simply just putting the viability of using microtransactions to level into perspective. I probably should have used a different reaction image.

This thread is making me want to check out RS again. Specifically, I want to see if RS3 or whatever is as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

I played back when there were only 8 worlds and rune equipment was the best you could get. I created an account about 6-8 years ago with a bunch of guys from 4chan in a RS nostalgia thread. So much had changed. Varrock square was completely empty, and I didn't see a single person constantly teleporting to the same sport.
