See, the problem is that it wasn't a random hallucination. It was an hallucination that led him to discover another wand. And then time got reset (as indicated by the timer resetting to "Day 1" right before credits).

What I mean, somebody/thing WANTED him to get that wand. Exactly how Toffee wanted the wand to 'explode' in his face (see the smirk right after the crystal split exactly in half).

We're clearly missing a lot of data, here.

My idea is that what Toffee wanted wasn't to destroy the wand, but to TAINT it somehow. Meaning he wasn't after its power, but after its user: that is Star herself.

So basically, taint the wand to corrupt Star's power (who can be really terrifying as seen in "mewberty").

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Ludo's part in the equation was to re-equilibrate Star (on one hand a main character turning corrupted on the other an evildoer turning good. I know it's hella crazy, but it could work)

It picked up from the season one finale, when Star threw him into a portal. Ludo had to learn to survive on what he assumed was a distant, foreign planet, only to discover from a magical hallucination that he was still on Mewni. He ended up discovering the other half of Star's wand under the snow (it was created when the star fractured and exploded as Toffee was holding it and its handle is Toffee's skeleton arm).

Can't wait for Ludo to use the dark wand.
