I think the main reason to differentiate between bronies and furries is that furries are interested in anthropomorphic animals first and foremost, regardless of which type of media they appear in, while bronies are interested in one specific show and may not care otherwise. Even the ones who fap to ponies may be interested in the characters rather than the fact that they're animals. A number of people have said that before MLP, they wouldn't have been remotely interested in fucking a horse.

And then there are the people on this board who want to fuck horses that are as close to real animals as possible, which is definitely bestiality, but still might not make them furries.

I'd say there are more bronies who like video games and anime than those who are (knowing) furries. Simply because it consists of characters who talk, wear clothes, and do other anthropomorphic things doesn't mean it's a part of the furry territory that just means furries might like it. Bronies and furries are totally different mostly because the entire brony fandom is unified by one series as the furry fandom is brought together by many, many series and online works. We as a group are together from one cause and that is MLP, bothering else. We also have lots more cons than they do which is a win. The brony community is also a lot more wide open and varietiesed as the furry fandom mostly consists of either really skinny betas or pretty fat betas while we go from celebrities , military members, athletes, and many more! We are an overall better fandom btw most of us like video games and anime so this is why I think we're the overall ALPHA FANDOM
