When TrotCon 2015 finished up, they immediately set up the webpage for 2016 complete with the weekend and location (same one). They also let people know when it was planned during ending ceremonies. I suspect that this year will be the same: ending ceremonies or the TrotCon website will give you a weekend and a location for 2017.

Ingrid Nilson's panel was pretty good, complete with her singing a few songs. John De Lancie's poetry panel was nice as well. I didn't run across much else, though. The Lunar Republic meetup was just people standing around and watching a group play TSSSF. None of the video game tournaments seemed to be happening.

There was an informal Swag Swap next to the food stand with hamburgers/hot dogs/etc. on my way out at 6PM, but I didn't bring my good stuff to trade. I actually asked at the beginning of the Con, and they didn't set aside a room or time for an official one. Hopefully they're doing it at some point tomorrow, as I would like to get rid of some of my excess pony junk.

Honestly, most of the anons I met were pretty fucking chill. It wasn't bad like you'd expect. Sure, two guys did shots from a bad dragon horse cock. But that's about it. Hopefully we'll see you there next year.

Just wanted to thank the niggas who came to the Swaglicorn panel. We had a few bumps but as far as we know peeps had fun so that's what matters.

Also in relation to the vendor chick, a bunch of us artists were hanging outside the game room during that mini party and she came up like "ey guys u want booze? And while ur in there look at my stuff it's really cool I have a lot."
Of course we didn't go. We were going to but instead we made the choice of watching Foodfight! At 6 am in the morning.

Swaglicorn was fun, though I left after about an hour and a half to drunkenly stumble around other parts of the con. This was my third year going to it and to be honest my favorite one was Friday night two years ago. There seemed to be very little organization to it and not a whole lot of seating (not that I remember anyway). It felt a lot more informal, as though it wasn't really being run by any particular group, just like a large drinking party. I just can't get totally drunk and then have fun by sitting in place for hours watching other people. My honest advice for next year is to move the seats out of the way, at least most of them. Leave a few in the back of the room for people to relax, but otherwise standing promotes mingling and interaction. Less organization can be good sometimes.

Anyone have the final attendee count? I heard somewhere it was about 750.

Still, down, but he said they honestly expected/budgeted for a bigger drop so they're happy.

Apparently the con is still planned for next year, but they are still planning to fit in that Buckeyecon as well with the funds raised from Trotcon. Hope this doesn't turn into a mess.

It will. This year people who worked 3+ hours aren't getting a refund like they did last year (which took forever to be sent out) they're getting a badge for next year. They don't even know if they're having the con at the same hotel, despite what they said at closing ceremonies. They also backpedaled really hard because they did in fact say Buckeye Pop was meant to replace Trotcon, but when people got upset they decided to run two cons instead.

It isn't going to end well.

2016 was quite a step down in attendance compares to 2015, and if the next year sees a similar hit in attendance, then they probably won't be able to fund it. It's certainly better to have them waiting rather than guaranteeing a TrotCon + BuckeyePop and not being able to fund it.
