This is the story of a quiet, courteous and organized mare named Sharp “Twitch" Catalog who made a deal with less than trustworthy ponies and is now slowly patching her life back together with the help of her friendly neighborhood mob operation.

Last time, Twitch was making a visit to a casino for a job.

>You play your hand cool, keeping your Queen and your ten to your self.
>A poker face is where nopony can read your emotions, right?
>Well, you think you're pretty darn good at those, and give the rest of the table a blankish stare.
>The yellow unicorn drops out with a disgusted look on her face, but the rest of the table sticks around and calls at 50 bits, bringing the pot to 275.
>Inside you feel a small twinge of nervousness, that's a good deal of your rent for a whole month sitting right front of you.
>The green pegasus is smirking, the purple one stoic, and Dromic raising his eyebrow at you.
>You give him a small smile before snapping back to an emotionless facade and waiting for the flop.
>It comes down, the jack of hearts, a five of diamonds and the ace of spades.
>Green likes this turn of events, nodding a bit.
>Purple drops her stoic face to chew her lip for a moment, then quickly realizes something and reverts to her previous poker face.
>And Dromic is rather hard to read, still keeping up his carefree facade and sending you little winks.

I think I should let the people who actually knows how to play poker take this one.
>>
>>27844135
There's a small chance we get a king for a straight, but I'm not really a fan of these odds.
>>
>>27844135
We should fold if anyone bets big. Our hand isn't very good.

I don't think Sharpie is, either

>You aren't liking your hoof, or the reactions around you.
>There's the slim chance you'll get a king in the next two draws, but it's too much of a risk.
>When Dromic raises 100, you decide upon the conservative play here, folding, while the rest of the table continues on.
>Dromic himself gives you a slightly smug look, whispers, and winks.
>"Hey, I can always give you a few pointers if need be. All you have to do is ask."
>The pot reaches 575 bits, and the fourth card comes down, the ace of hearts.
>Green drops out here, while purple keeps her stoic expression and Dromic his smug one.
>It comes down to the final flip, a two of clubs, and purple takes the pot with two pair, leaving Dromic looking rather huffy.

>And for the rest of the game, you play a rather conservative style.
>It pays off, you taking the night with a 300 bit profit and sending Dromic 500 in the hole (1000 down counting his roulette winnings).
>In an annoyed mood, he picks you up and drags you off,
>"Fine, we played what you want, now my turn..."
>After a moment of deliberation he settles on blackjack, then saves two places at a table while he grabs you both another drink.
>At this point, he's pretty tipsy already.
>Stumbled once on the way to blackjack and a couple more times on the way to the bar.
>For the moment it's just you and the dealer, this table having just started up for the night.

>"Hey, I can always give you a few pointers if need be. All you have to do is ask."

If he thinks we need pointers just because we folded, he either doesn't know the game very well or is trying to get us to lose money.
>>
>>27844720
Exactly. A lot of poker hands are pretty much unplayable.
>>
>>27844704
Should we try to bribe the dealer? I'm not sure if it's a good idea, but I think it's going to be hard to make him lose money in Blackjack.
>>
>>27844760
I mean, maybe we could try our idea. We did just make 300 bits after all.

What's our story? That he's been cheating on our friend and we want him to go home broke tonight?
Also, if we bribe the dealer, we definitely shouldn't play at the table.
>>
>>27844791
That could work. We're alone, with just the dealer right? We could use that story and bribe him 300 bits, but we're flexible.
If Dromic questions why we don't play, just tell him Blackjack makes us really uncomfortable.
>>
>>27844760
>>27844791
>>27844852
>You consider bribing the dealer, thinking about the 300 bits you'd just plundered previously.
>You decide it's worth a shot, and after securing that nopony is approaching the two of you, speak up.
"So... I've got a little proposition for you."
>You say mysteriously, and the mare dealer raises an eyebrow.
>"Alright. Go on."
>After a deep breath, you make a small gesture over to Dromic,
"It's pretty simple. That guy's been cheating on my friend. His name is Dromic, and he's also kind of stuck up and smug. She doesn't know and I want to humble him a bit, send him home broke tonight. And I can offer you 300 bits to make that happen, or at least help push him over the edge."
>The dealer bites her lip, looks over to the front desk of the casino and quickly whispers back,
>"I'll do it for 500, take it or leave it."

"Done, but you have to make sure you don't scare him off early."
>She nods,
>"Yeah, I got you, I'll keep him along for a while... If I don't get a decent piece off him I'll give you half it back."
>She says with a wink as you pass over the money and wait for the table to fill.
>Eventually five show up, along with Dromic and play begins.
>He retakes his seat and looks a little disappointed when you mention you won't be playing.
"Blackjack just makes me uncomfortable, n-not really something I want to talk about."
>And Dromic nods, then passes you your drink,
>"Ah, that's disappointing. Well will you at least stick around for moral support?"
>He says slyly, and you slide up behind him with a whispered,
"My pleasure..."
>The mare gives you a wink as you stand behind your stallion, hooves wrapped around his shoulders.
>Bets are placed, and the mare deals quick as a whip, cards sliding across the table to land neatly in the hooves of their owners.

>Rounds fly by with this mare, speedy and talkative.
>She gets the table in a good mood, a few decent wins and hands dealt.
>Dromic goes on a short winning streak, ending 80 bits up and in a great mood.
>"Knew I had somepony lucky tonight!"
>She says with a wink to him, and he whispers privately,
>"You might have some competition sweetie..."
>With a mixture of flirting, big bets and 'unlucky' hands, the table claws back 400 bits from Dromic.
>In that loss streak with a final bust of 200, Dromic starts to look a little discouraged as he places down 15 for his next bet.

>input action
>>
>>27845925
Aww come on big guy. Losing streaks can't last forever. Plus, you'll never make it back with little bets like that.

"Losing streaks can't last forever. Plus, you'll never make it back with bets like that. Why not keep increasing your bets like you did with roulette?"
>Dromic strokes his chin and chuckles,
>"I suppose it's worth a shot..."
>And hits his 12.

>For a while, he starts winning, slowly building his way back up.
>Your doubling strategy and his 'bad luck' set him back small amounts, keeping him about 100 bits up from where he'd been previously, but keeping his spirits high due to his knowledge that he'll win at some point.
>Feeling good, Dromic takes the last swig of his drink and slams down 100, which he promptly loses.
>Your dealer then beats him out of 1400 bits on the losing streak of a century before, in a rage, he grabs you and yanks you away from the table.
>"It's all rigged, I swear..."
>He grumbles, sitting you back down at the bar.

>I just don't have much more on me right now.
So mission complete. As-is though, we're down 200 of our 500 profit.

I'm personally cool with going home now and putting the remaining 300 towards our debt, as long as everyone else is.
>>

Just do this.

>>27846669
I thought he had to be completely dry for the mission to be complete? If not, heading home might be a good idea.

>And if you can't get him completely broke, close to it also works."
>>
>>27846671
I don't want to start an argument, but I'm worried that stealing his remaining money would cause him to go to the authorities with our description, put a bigger wanted sticker on our back.
>>
Yeah, I think we've done pretty well for ourselves considering how low-key the mission's been. No reason to take any risks. We should head home, but don't tel him that; I don't like how grabby he's been with us. Instead, we should sound agreeable but excuse ourselves to the bathroom or something and slip out. Don't give him the chance to get violent.
>>
>>27846526
This is good. He's drunk enough, and if he tries anything we're fast enough to outrun a drunk stallion.

As is we can follow him to his room or whatever and rob him blind.
>>
>>27846744
Yeah that's fine. I didn't realize getting him close to broke was acceptable.

>After a reasonable silence, you put your drink down,
"Say, before we head out I'm going to take a quick trip to the mare's room. If you finish up before I get back, just wait here alright? Don't want to lose you."
>He nods and stares into your drink as you trot off.
>You watch to make sure he isn't looking your way, then make a beeline for the exit.
>The night air is cool against your fur as you step out of the casino, just now realizing how muggy it was inside the there.
>You spend a moment shaking out before trotting off home, keeping to familiar paths and enjoying the night.
>It's not even that late.

>Feels damn great to have an easier job for once.
>When you arrive home Tally is asleep in bed, a half-eaten plate of dinner on her lap and the radio tuned to Clandelstine's escapades.
>You had forgotten entirely about your mystery mare, and indeed felt a little guilty for missing the show with Tally.
>However, as you walk back out into the living room you notice a letter slipped through your mail slot, one you must have missed when you first walked in.

>It's a good habit to get into, considering she nearly saw it last time...
>After getting a glass of water, you take a seat and grab the letter, tearing it open and reading through.
>It's unmarked on the outside, which means it was probably delivered by hoof.
>But addressed to you, so presumably Tally left it for you to read or ignored it.
>Most likely the latter.

Dear Sharp,
I'm pleased to inform you everything was in order with your job and I've now officially zeroed the half of your debt I promised to. As I'm sure you know, Kis has been moved from a position as your boss to somepony now working under me. A sad, but necessary dealing. I'll explain it in more detail next time we meet, I'm sure you're very confused as to what happened and more importantly what was in that folder. The next piece of information I have to share is that you have two trails on you. One is a blue stallion with aqua hair, the other a red mare with a light yellow mane. I am still working on figuring out their motives for doing so (as they also appear to be trailing some of my other agents), but I can assure you neither is police. I'm putting out a bounty on them for their capture, removal or information on them, and thought you might be interested. 5000 bits each, less for information. The final thing I have to say is that I might have another job on the horizon for you. It's lucrative too.

From, Drachma

>input action
>>
>>27847645
Blue stallion is familiar. We've caught him following us before.
His partner, however, was black, not yellow.

We've never seen this mare, to my knowledge. We'll just have to keep looking over our shoulder.
>>
>>27847776
*not red
Excuse me. The neighborhood watchmare was yellow with red mane, we're looking for a pony the other way around.

>>27847645
Destroy the letter and get to bed.
>>
>>27847776
>>27847790
>You recognize the blue stallion, but not the other mare.
>Still, it's worrying and simultaneously comforting to have your fringe suspicions confirmed, that he was trailing you before.
>Before you head to bed you shred the letter and toss it out, then slip out of your fancy dress and hop in with Tally.
>You pull her into a hug as big spoon and do some thinking, about Kis, about your job and about Drachma.
>Another lucrative job does sound exciting, but if it's in the same vein as what happened to Kis, you'll probably have to decline.
>So with the smell of Tally's flowery shampoo in your face, you drift off into unconsciousness, happy and relaxed for once.

>You awaken to a kiss on the nose, and a lively Tally skipping out of bed.
>"Hiya Sharp! It's the weekend! Have any plans? I was thinking we could go out to breakfast somewhere, but if you've got other responsibilities I won't make you come."
>She asks from the bedroom floor, rolling about, stretching out and cracking her back.

>input action

I meant to post this at the start of the thread, but I forgot. Sharp has evolved very little as a character over the course of DW, and so I want to introduce a little info that might help with that and influence her future actions. Sharp can have romantic feelings for other ponies, just is uncomfortable with sex. She wants someone she can snuggle up with and be intimate with. Again, cuddleslut, nothing has changed here. Now let's just quest.
>>
>>27848025
>just is uncomfortable with sex. She wants someone she can snuggle up with and be intimate with.
Tally, please be our sexless life partner.
>>
>>27848025

>>27848077
Dammit anon I really want to support you, but I also don't want to start another argument.
>>
>>27848077
While I am fine with this, I feel like it would be cruel to Tally. She is obviously not asexual and it would be asking too much of her to do that I think.
>>

>"I'll be here when you get back from work, but the letter can wait right?"
>You nod,
>"Great! I'll see if I can find somewhere cool to eat."
"Mind if I invite Bell along too?"
>You ask hesitantly as you trot to the door with your but sling, and Tally raises an eyebrow at you.
"As a friend, nothing more."
>Tally shrugs,
>"Sure, I don't mind at all. Maybe we can both get to know him!"
>With a grin you set off for the Laugh, trotting through the early morning and in through the doors.
>Providence is in back, Kis's office still lying empty.

>"Just give me a moment and you'll be all set."
>She spends a little sorting cash, then slides the bag over, less full than before.
>"And you're good! See you next week Twitch. I think the new boss will be here then, so we'll both get to meet them."
>You give a curt nod, scoop up your pay and hit the streets to head home.

>You take your trip back much slower than normal, keeping vigilant and watching casually for either of your suspected tails.
>While you do see a mare matching the colors Drachma gave you, you can't tell if she's suspicious or not.

And, well, I'm still not. Sex is... Well I don't like it. But more than anything, I don't really want to be alone, hugging a pillow to get myself to go to sleep at night in a cold, quiet apartment four, sixteen, maybe even thirty six years from now. Two is better than one, after all.

I guess what I'm saying is that you're my best friend, Tally, and I never ever want to lose that. But I'm kind of disgusted by the thought of sex. It's messy and uneven, just no fun.

"And, well, I'm still not, at least not sexually. Sex is... I don't like it. >Your mind goes back to the cold room Kis put you up in, and the pillow Tally you fabricated for yourself then.
>"Of course Sharp, I understand completely! But I still don't really see where you're going here."
>She sighs, perplexed.
>After a long pause and some heavy breaths, you finally work up the courage to answer her.
"I guess what I'm saying is that you're my best friend, Tally, and I never ever want to lose that. But I'm kind of disgusted by the thought of sex. It's messy and uneven, just no fun."
>Tally nods,
>"Oh Sharpie, you'll never lose me as a friend! I'll always be there for your cuddles. But I never knew you felt like this! Just assumed you were very picky or something, I've never seen you with a stallion or marefriend before. That probably should have been a sign. So just, no sex for you? You don't want it? Ever?"
>You flush bright red and stammer,
"I-I've done it before, a long time ago. Was just weird, didn't like it at all."
>Tally nods,
>"Oh, alright then, I was going to try and tell you it's not at all bad, but I'm not going to preach if you've made up your mind."
>She rubs the back of her neck and takes a seat on the floor, which you soon follow.

"I think that's different than sex through. It helps you be in control."
>Tally chuckles.
>"Yeah, I understand what you mean."
>After a second, she strikes you with a rather quizzical look and asks,

You're incredibly important to me Tally. I just can't have sex with you."
>You tug your braid, then notice a few strands out of place and stressfully pat them back into place.
"And a little advice would be nice."
>Tally nods,
>"Advice? Well first off I want to say that whatever happens Sharp I'm going to stick by you. Even if I get a marefriend or hell, even get married, I'll still be your best friend and cuddlebuddy. Nothing can change that."
>She then takes a deep breath.
>"But I do think you should find another cuddlebud too. Someone like me, that you can cuddle and snuggle to your heart's content. Because if I end up getting a marefriend there might be some nights she wants me all to herself. And anyway, just because you're averse to sex doesn't mean you can't be intimate with anypony. It just means you have to explain how you feel beforehand. Nothing more."
>She then thinks for a second and grins,
>"You were planning to call up that Bell guy weren't you? Why not use this opportunity to see how you like him, and get to know his personality better? He might not end up being the one, but there's plenty of fish in the sea. T-That also might like cuddling."

>Which sends your eyes to the floor once again, and a disgruntled buttbump to Tally.
>But it's only a short walk until the two of you arrive at the nearby pancake shop and order up brunch food,
>"Don't think it'd be a good idea to eat breakfast or lunch today, so I think a big brunch will do. Time is ticking on..."

Ponies love to talk about themselves. Just some icebreakers today, they'll probably lead into conversations of their own."

"Y'know? This would be a lot easier if Bell just happened to be a red unicorn mare, and instead of having to partake in social interaction we just cuddled."

>Tally takes a moment and stops you there,
>"Just messy enough?"
>You grin,
"Well, I think I've discovered something about myself. For me to live with somepony they need to fall into a sort of goldilocks zone of messyness! Too unclean and I'll rip my mane out with stress. Too clean and I'll go insane from a lack of things to tidy. I think you fall in the zone of just messy enough quite nicely!"
>Tally chuckles,
>"I guess that's an incentive to cultivate my bad cleaning habits then. Make sure you're always happy."
>And you nod,
"Yep! Just don't let me handle it all myself. Now, they also have to be nice and kind, fun, like to take me outside my comfort zone every once in a while. And they have to be someone that I could build the same sort of connection that I have with you, even after telling them 'no sex.'"
>Tally taps her chin,
>"Well, there's a lot of good ponies out there, and I'm sure there's got to be at least one that fits your desires."
>She taps her chin as your pancakes arrive and asks,
>"I get the feeling you're not too versed in sexual knowledge, right?"

When I met you at a restaurant the other night I introduced myself as Quick Writ, but my real name is Sharp Catalog. I apologize for lying to you, but the truth is I took a job at that restaurant because I needed the money, but there were some ponies I would rather not know I was working there, so I used an alias. What I would really like, though, is to work for you, Princess! Just like you, I love organization; in fact it's my special talent, and I do it for fun. Organizing your library would be an honor and a dream job for me. And since you mentioned you could use some help with that, I would like to formally offer my services. I'd be happy to work for free if you can't justify the expense, but if you could use someone to work part or even full-time I would love to do so! Please let me know how I can best serve you.

"Scratch that for a brief moment, I have to go into the bathroom and hyperventilate for a minute."
>Bell laughs and nods,
>"Oh, nervousness. I'm practically the same way right now, g-go right ahead."
>Thankful and rather surprised he didn't take that as weird, you trot daintily into the bathroom and instantly collapse to the floor, gasping for air.
>Note to self: breathe.
>So after you catch your breath you start hyperventilating to calm down, the tile wall in front of you fogging up ever so slightly.
>You then struggle back to your hooves and into the living room, where Tally and Bell are listening to the radio together.
>"F-Felling better?"
>He asks shakily, and you respond with a hesitant but confident,
"Yes. Quite a lot better actually..."
>Bell nods,
>"I drank a lot of coffee before I came over here, caffeine helps me focus. Right now I'm focusing pretty hard on not bolting for that door. Anyway, come take a seat so we can, u-uh, talk!"
>He pats a seat on the couch between him and Tally, which you gladly take.
>"So..."
>Tally starts after a brief pause.
>"I know you guys met at the bar already, but introductions normally cultivate conversation. Each of you introduces yourselves again. Also lets me get a feeling for you Bell."
>There's an awkward moment where the two of you continually wait for the other to start until Bell stammers out,

>Tally blushes a little.
>"W-Well we like other stuff too. Sharpie is incredibly organized, and even trued running her own grocery store at one point. I work with buildings. Architecture consultant I guess you could call it?"
>Bell nods, now looking a little more sure of himself.
>"Well, I'm Bell. I'm a writer, and I write serials to make a living. Well, one serial at the moment, a romance series."
>Tally's eyes light up at romance, but stays silent.
>Things fall silent for an awkward moment, but you quickly spark the conversation with,
"So I just wrote a letter to Princess Twilight..."
>You lead, Tally instantly expressing a jealous scrunch.
>Bell gives you a quizzical look,
>"What for?"
>And you nervously put one of your shoulders forward as you stutter out,
"W-Well, I'm trying to get a job actually. She's looking for employment and recommended me to do that. I'm pretty excited about it actually."
>Bell lights up,
>"W-Wow, that's a real honor! I wish I could work for the princesses, but writing's a rather solitary job."
>He says unhappily, then continues.
>"And if you do... End up getting that job, think you could introduce me to Luna?"

Huh.

Anyway, why don't you tell Tally here about your ROMANCE series.

So, as a romance writer does he need a lot of real-world experience as 'research' for his books?

"So you like Luna, Tally likes Cadence, and I like Twilight! Just need to find someone who likes Celestia and we'll have a little princessly quartet!"

>There's a moment's pause before you start up again,
"So Bell, since you're a romance writer do you try to get a lot of real world experience for... Research purposes?"
>You ask curiously, but Bell laughs awkwardly and shakes his head,
>"N-No, I don't have too much experience with actual romance myself. It's a lot easier to just... Lay it out and have two characters interact. When I'm talking to myself I can always sweet talk the mare. In the real world, well, I haven't been too successful."
>He looks slightly embaressed but covers it behind a smile.
"So why not tell Tally about your novel?"
>You say to lead the conversation forward, and his expression quickly changes.
>"Oh, sure!"
>He starts, then goes off and rattles off quite the long summary.
>He retells the story of Esther and Midnight, and her magic clocks.
>You remember thinking about that 'evens-only' clock you wanted to get, and how that mare could make it a reality.
>"I-I won't spoil it all for you, mostly because it's gone so long there's even parts I can't remember fully. But you can pick it up at a few nearby news-shops, it's called 'A Night on the Town.' "
>He finishes broadly, then takes a moment to himself.
>"E-Enough about me though. What exactly would you be doing with the princesses?"
>He asks eagerly, then thinks for a moment and quickly recoils.
>"But if it's confidential you don't have to say anything. A-And you don't have an obligation to tell me either, I-I just thought it would be a good way to keep the conversation going."

I can't think it would be confidential.

Mostly Twilight said how she doesn't have much time to organize her library anymore, so I offered to do it for her.
I would have done it for free, but Twilight said she would pay me.
>>
>>27875711
>You chuckle,
"I can't think it would be confidential, it's pretty harmless. Twilight just mentioned she doesn't have the time to organize her library anymore, so I offered to do it for her! I would have done it for free, but Twilight said that wasn't fair and that if I got the job she's pay me!"
>Bell raises an eyebrow,
>"So you offered to do it for free and she said no to that? Well, I guess they're good ponies in both public and private. More monetarily-minded ponies might have said otherwise..."
>He leads,
>"So you really do enjoy organization, huh?"
>He giggles,
>"Man I am just the opposite. While I like to think I'm not a slob, my work is the most unorganized thing in the world. My notes are a mess, I'm constantly mixing up my drafts, my office has papers fluttering about it constantly. Maybe I could hire you too, eh?"
>He says jokingly, and as you're about to respond in earnest affirmative, Tally puts a hoof on your lap and whispers,
>"It's a joke Sharpie, rhetorical."
>So, while she may have been right you do the only thing left to do.
>Scrunch up and pout.
>Bell is oblivious to this exchange, and thus continues onward,
>"So Sharp, how do you make cleaning enjoyable for yourself? I find it a slog myself, and can't stand a minute of it, but know that if I don't do it I'll regret it in the future. So do you make it fun for yourself somehow? Play games to keep it interesting?"
>Tally also perks up,
>"Hey, I've never thought of that! I'm interested to hear this too Sharpie, how do you keep cleaning exciting for yourself?"

I don't know if there's a trick to it.

It's nice, turning something messy into something clean. It just feels right. I see something disorganized and something in my brain goes 'No, no, no, that's wrong. You have to fix that right now!'
I'm sorry I can't really help, but it might be a cutie mark thing. Or just a Sharpie thing, I don't know.

I guess it would be like asking you how you can stand to let things stay messy.
>>
>>27876497
It's about exerting control over your environment. Putting the world how you want it.
With cleaning things can be just how you want them if you just put a little time and effort in.

"I-It's only a joke, I just think it's nice turning something messy into something clean!"
>You assure, and in response receive a pair of relieved sighs,
"Putting the world how you want it. It just feels right. I see something in disorder and disorganization and my brain just clicks 'No, no Sharpie, that's wrong. You need to fix that right now!' I'm sorry I can't give much more than that, it might be a cutie mark thing."
>You say as you point to your rump,
"Or maybe a Sharpie thing, I don't know. I guess it's the same as me asking you how you can stand to let things be messy."
>Tally chuckles,
>"In my case it's laziness that prevents me, not that I can stand it being messy."
>And Bell nods,
>"Guess just some ponies are disposed to it, others aren't. Sad I have to be in the latter camp, but we all have our own problems to overcome."
>He grumbles, scratches his head and sighs.
>"Gah... You have anything to drink around here?"

>Tally laughs,
>"You betcha, we're gearing up to start construction on a building for the city soon. We need to make sure everything is just right or we might get our funding cut, and if we get our funding cut there's no profit in the job for us."
>She chuckles half-heartedly,

This is a small opening for a little backstory and characterization of Sharp and Tally in the past. However, this is also incredibly broad and I understand if nobody wants to write in. In that case I'll think up something myself when I return and we'll continue from there.

We met sophomore year of highschool. Freshman year the yearbook had an odd number of pages, so I had to join to make sure that never happened again. I met Tally when I went to take her picture for one of the club photos. I don't even remember which one. I think Tally was just in there because she was crushing on some mare.

How's that?
>>
>>27878825
Tally didn't show up for the photo because she was off doing Tally stuff, and I sure as hell wasn't going to be taking a picture of SEVEN ponies, so I had to go find her. >You step back a moment, letting the river of memories flow through you.
>After a moment of watching in awe, you pick a particular one from the rapids and hold it dear, laughing to yourself as you recount it to Tally and Bell.
"Well, Tally and I knew of each other since we were little. Acquaintances, y'know. But we first really met in sophomore year. In freshman year the yearbook had an odd number of pages, so I joined the yearbook committee and was determined to make sure that didn't happen the next year. I was taking a club photo, I don't even remember what, but only seven members showed up. Naturally I had to fix this problem, and there was one mare left missing. Tally Forward. I spent the next tense ten or so minutes rushing about the school looking for her, and when I finally found her I bucked the door to whatever class she was in and shouted, 'TALLY FORWARD? I NEED YOU.' Then dragged her off to take the photo. She must have thought I was pretty interesting, because we're still here today!"
>Tally giggles,
>"Crazy to think about. Man, I was crushing super hard on some cheerleading mare back then. Glad I ended up with you instead of her!"
>Bell gives the two of you a grin,
>"Wish I bonded with someone in highschool like you two did."
>Bell then taps the side of his can and sighs,
>"I don't have many stories, but one time my group of nerds and I were dicking around with a storm runoff ditch. Don't know why we thought it was a good idea, but we did. We were having fun running up and down it the sides of it, until one our friends at the top slipped and bowled us all down. We tumbled through it until we splashed down at the bottom of the ditch, making a ginormous splash of muddy, rancid water. There'd just been a storm recently, so there was tons of trash and gunk and it smelled like a sewer. We spent hours trying to get out of there, it was awful. And there's the essentials too, grocery market, laundromat, you guys know. It's quiet because I don't have a roommate, but I like it. A roommate'd probably take a lot of load off me though, I try to save a little at the end of every month for when I retire, but it's pretty meager. My nest egg is dipping in to the red ever so slightly, as you know, which I'm trying to change..."
>You and Tally both laugh nervously when he brings up saving for retirement, which neither of you have been doing.
>Tally continues the conversation for you,
>"So what are your hobbies? Outside writing, obviously."
>Bell thinks for a moment, tapping his chin,
>"Well, I guess you could call sleeping one, as I spend so much of my time doing it to procrastinate..."
>He says with a grin, but a melancholy tone.
>"And reading. I always enjoy throwing small references to whatever I'm reading at the moment in my serial. And running, I go on a morning trot to clear my head every day and think up ideas. Travel too, but I don't really have the bits or time away from work to make that a possibility right now. So I instead explore Canterlot as a replacement for that adventurous urge. How about you two? >You get into a long argument about favorite colors, Bell saying it's a childish thing to have, you and Tally vehemently denying that and each claiming a favorite to fight over.

Wash the peppers. Remove the stems, seeds and internal rib-like bits, then rinse them and peel the onions. The rest of the veggies should be fine with just a rinse. Cut it all up small and toss with oil and garlic. Olive is best but pretty much anything but sesame will taste fine.

Cook the veggies in a cast iron skillet on the stovetop. I don't know why but that matters. It tastes better when cooked in a cast iron skillet. Just trust me on that one. Add some oil, let it cook for a minute, then dump in your veggies. Sear the vegetables for a minute before you stir them, then stir them once a minte for five or six minutes. They should be softened with just a little pleasant crucnh left, and have just a few charred spots. Do this in batches for different veggies, so everyone has the option of whatever they want at the fajita bar. Deglaze the skillet with lime juice in between. Not lemon. Lime.

Heat all the tortillas at once by putting them in the oven an a sheet of foil, since I don't think ponies have microwaves yet.

Cover the veggies in their bowls to keep them warm, and leave the chili on simmer until the last minute. Make sure there's bread for dipping in the chilli.

>First, you wash the peppers two by two and pluck off the stems, seeds and gunky inside stuff.
>Then wash them and peel the onions, doing your absolute best to keep each layer intact.
>The veggies get a quick rinse before being placed with the onions and sent into a sea of steel.
>Your blade flicks and slices through the pile until you're sure you've diced it evenly.
>Now divided, you throw it in a bowl with some garlic and olive oil, then toss it all together and push it around a bit.
>Then it's into the pan, where you sear them for a few minutes in oil until they're at that perfect balanced point between soft and crunchy.
>You repeat this a few times with different mixtures of the previous veggies, each time squeezing a little lime over both the finished veggies and the pan.
>You then heat all the tortillas in the oven on foil, checking every two minutes to ensure they don't burn.

"It's just fajitas, and I've laid out a whole bunch of fillings you all can try! They're all pretty good I think, so mix and match and put whatever you want in them!"
>You then go on to rattle off each of the intricate flavor combinations you've crafted, and say that you yourself are going to try the carrots, onions and red bell peppers first, along with some chili for a total of four flavorings.
>And that's only going to be yor first batch!
>And while you spend more time complementing the combinations with even sets of flavorings, you spend as muh time as you can bear lauding the odd ones too.
>So after some blank stares, you finish with a short,
"And just... Don't be so shy?"
>Great conversation starter Sharpie!
>Really hit the nail on the head with that one.
>Velix laughs to herself and gives the ceiling most of her view as she starts,
>"I-I get the feeling none of us are really the center of attention at parties. Look to Roxxy at work for that."
>She starts, and Rye nods.
>"Oh? I've got a stallion at work like that, he's a whirling dervish of sex appeal too, which is funny because he's a janitor like me. Ends up with some really awkward situations where he's hitting on like, royal guards or famous ponies. Almost gotten him sacked a few times too."
>Tally giggles, happy there's finally talk around the table.
>"Now, Roxx doesn't usually go that far, but the sex appeal I can certainly agree with."
>And Velix nods as well,
>"Tally and I both work at the same firm is reletively close departments, so we see each other a lot. That and we're buds, but that's outside work."
>Rye bites his lip,
>"Man, I wish I had work buds... Well, I have one or two, but we don't hang out much outside the castle. Bit of a shame honestly..."
>So, how's it looking like tonight Sharpie?

>Now that you're off your cooking high, you're starting to feel anxiety creeping back in.
>Tally, Rye and Velix continue their conversation, but you quickly find yourself too nervous to contribute anything worthwhile.
>After working up some courage, you stand from the table and excuse yourself to the kitchen area, where you open the refrigerator and retrieve a few bottles of wine.
>Normally Tally and you just drink beer, but it's always good to save something for special occasions.
>There's three bottles in the fridge, but you muscle through the pain and take all three to the table before pouring yourself a generous glass.
>After a moment, the front door swings open and the other two mares enter, skipping to the table and already introducing themselves.
>Roxxy and Jelly, both from Tally's work and bringing tonight's total to six ponies.
>They sit down, you give them both smiles and slowly grow more and more annoyed as they fall into conversation.
>Why can't you just do that?
>What is it about you that steadies your hoof, stops you from having fun?
>At the moment they're just chatting about work, you can easily think up some stuff you've been doing and tell them about it.
>Doesn't have to be 100% true either, you just want to join the conversation.
>You then chew your lip and stare down at the glass of wine in front of you, still deciding whether or not to take the plunge tonight.

>They flick and swivel minute distances to catch every snippet and word of your friends' chat, and you've become uneasily aware of it.
>Their voices and hooves disturb the liquid in your glass, teensy ripples forming on the surface and bouncing around inside.
>Unwittingly, your breath begins to pick up.
>The words are there in your head and you long to join in, but something stops you once again and you retreat into your own thoughts.
>You rewrite what you were going to enter the conversation with but by the time you're ready and fully confident, the conversation's moved on and it no longer makes sense.
>You sigh and lean back in your chair, suddenly worried you'll never be able to join in and end up sitting silent all night.
>Maybe if you said you were feeling sick, they'd just leave you alone and you could go read in your room.
>As you're about to stand, you then realize you'd leave the table with only five ponies left and buckle in for the long haul.
>The glass in front of you sits silently, waiting, and as you try to debate between leaving and staying, you instead grab the glass with fervor and down it before your rational side can object.

"So, have any of you had trouble at work like Tally has?"
>You say, entering into the conversation smoothly and quickly.
>Wow, that was incredibly easy.
>You feel a little silly now.
>Rye looks a little confused, but Tally's coworkers all groan,
>"Oh, like you wouldn't believe Sharp..."
>Jelly starts.
>"I've been trying to get a permit so we can do a little controlled blasting inside Canterlot."
>As Velix moves to speak, Rye beats her to the punch and asks,

I've had some drama at work lately too.

Apparently my boss has been skimming a bit off the top, and understandably, the higher-ups aren't very happy about that. It's been really tough, since I got caught in the middle of all this, and I really really liked my boss.

Thankfully she wasn't fired, but she got transferred and is now working under one of the higher ups, so I might not ever see her again.

Our mom taught us growing up. It helped us deal with some hangups we had as a kid.
Cooking is all about mixing wholes and combining values. it's messy, but ordered.
It helped to know that can lead to something good as long as you do it just right.
>>
>>27936746
I can't say I'm a trained chef, but I used to work for a smaller local restaurant before I tried the grocery store thing.

I started out as a janitor and dishwasher when I was still in high school, but one day we were really understaffed, so they had me come over to the line and taught me how to work the station really quick. I liked it almost as much as cleaning, so I just stuck with it and she taught me a bunch of stuff, as well as practicing at home on Tally.

Again, I never went to culinary school or anything like that, but the head chef was a really nice mare to work with, and she taught me a lot while I was there.

You know, sometimes I think that maybe I should have stuck with that job. I guess it's in the past.
>>
>>27936834
>>27936850
"Well my mom taught me to love it when I was still a filly."
>You think back to that time, remembering that sometimes a messy process, when done right, can make something amazing and orderly.
"I learned more when I decided to go work in a resturant! Before I started up my... M-My grocery store."
>You then take a moment to compose yourself.
"I started out as a janitor, but one day they were understaffed and they taught me how to work the station! I couldn't have been happier, liked it almost as much as cleaning and the pay was much better. So I stayed. The head chef liked me I think, and I learned a lot of odd stuff from her! The rest I learned from practicing on Tally."
>In your head, you wistfully long to get those days back.
>Tally retches and brings you back to reality,
>"Celestia, you should have seen some of the stuff she tried on me. I remember an espicially gut-wrenching pasta dish she prepar—"
>And you quickly move across the table to plaster your hooves over her mouth.
"T-Tally we agreed not to talk about th-that! Remember?"
>And she blushes a little as you remove your blockage.
>Roxxy snickers,
>"I remember my first job too sweetie, it was cleaning carriagesto pay for school. You wouldn't believe where dirt can get, and I'm sure I know more about carriages than most mechanics because of it."
>She shakes her head,
>"Was just about the most run-down place you could ever imagine I was working at. Had a couple of pals that helped me get through it, but the pay was barely enough to make ends meet. Lots of bread and butter I ate back then, and soup too."
>While she reminisces, Velix throws a question to the table.
>"So I think I told you all about my roommate and her maybe stealing my stuff? I threatened to get the police involved just a short time ago and she finally relented and gave back my bits, but I just don't trust her anymore. Yeah. Unfortunately neither of us has really had the means to start saving for retirement. Being unemployed didn't do wonders for our nest eggs, and I'm still in debt big time from the store.

It's actually better for me to pay that off quick before I start really saving, cause the interest is higher than anything I'd make from investing money.
>>

"Yeah. Neither of us really have the means to start saving at the moment."
>You say as you gesture between you and Tally.
"Our little unemployment stint put a pretty big hole in both our nest eggs and I'm still in debt from the store. And it's best if I pay that off now anyhow, the interest is muh higher than anything I could make off investing."
>And you get a few apologetic nods from the table,
>"That's a real shitty place to be in..."
>Muses Roxxy,
>"I had a bit going out of college, still dealing with it now to be honest. Interest rate's pretty small though, so I'm sending a bit off to save each month."
>Rye laughs nervously,
>"Shit I've been pretty irresponsible with my savings. Might change that soon though, take a leaf out of yall's book."

>And so the night rolls on, you growing more confident with each sip from your glass.
>When dinner finally finishes up, all three wine bottles are empty, and to be honest you couldn't care less about how many there are.

"Good things I hope..."
>And you thankfully recieve a silent nod in return.
"I just wanted to welcome you to The Laugh and say I look forward to working with you!"
>He chuckles,
>"Well Twitch, I look forward to working with all of you! It's quite the business as I'm now seeing. Don't tell anyone, but I'm rather excited to be here myself."
"I agree sir! But I do have to mention it'd be rather hard to work with you if I don't know your name..."
>You say first with a sprightly tone, leading into a more demure one with your second sentance.
>The stallion stops for a moment and steps back,

>You ignore them and instead head straight into Providence's after a quick knock.
"Provvie?"
>You ask as you trot in, and the look-alike Kis quickly shuffles about her paoers and looks up,
>"Good morning Sh-Twitch! Have you met the new boss yet? He's a bit of a... Character, at least I think. Kis and I had a chance to meet him early and tell him what he was getting into."

>You say wih a gesture to the other office, and Providence nods.
>"Yeah, it does... I used to walk with her here most of the way every day. Sorta odd making it all on my own now."
>She goes silent for a quick moment before continuing,
>"A-Anyway, I'm going to get to know this new guy some more. Expected the worst and didn't get it. Suppose that's a win."
>She laughs quietly,
>"And yes I've got a few jobs for you, one short one today to tide you over actually. But before we get down to business I want to know how open you are to commitment in the near future. Might be spending a night or two away from home with a couple of these. Some of this stuff is hush-hush. Want as few ponies to know as possible."

I might not be. I may be spending some time out of town in the coming weeks. I don't know when or even if it'll happen yet, but I just want to let you know.

>Providence nods,
>"Okay, thanks for the heads up!"
>She says cheerfully,
>"But tonight's job is pretty simple and short. A package drop. You go to a restaurant with a box I'm giving you. Meet up with a stallion. Have a conversation for a little while with him, slip in the phrase 'And how's the weather over at your mother's place?' To which he'll respond 'Very sunny this time of year,' with some other words after you're to remember. If he does, you're to deliver the package to him. If he responds with anything else, you're to take the box and get a move on. Think you can handle that?"

"And how about those other jobs? As long as they're in the next few days I think I should be good."
>Provvie rubs her hooves together for a second before whooping silently to herself,
>"Okay! First job is actually under Drach. Got the call for it this weekend, I was told I myself and a few members of my choice from The Laugh crew were needed to work with Kis and Drach's picks. The job itself will last two days, and is a bit harrowing in terms of what it expects from us. I won't elaborate unless you can confirm you'll take it, but let me preface by saying it's pretty lucrative and I'm quite excited myself to get back in the field. Might not suit you exactly, but I'd love to have you aboard! And I'm certainly happy to get to see my sis so quickly!"
>She then relaxes and shakes out her head,
>"I... Hooh, sorry. R-Really strange emotions clashing inside. Might take a few hours off to rest and get my professionalism back actually."
>After shaking out a little more, she relaxes and starts with her usual detached demeanor,
>"And the other job involves some political positioning. A party, planting a bug, and some other stuff. Again, I've got to keep it vague for the sake of less ponies knowing."

Does anyone else think maybe we shouldn't be so quick to go out in the field with a pony we just recently betrayed and seriously screwed over? Even if she says she forgives us, field work usually takes a lot of mutual trust, and I'm not sure we have that with Kis or Provvie right now.

>There's a small pause until she speaks up again, ovbiously uncomfortable,
>"N-No matter though. I know how you're feeling, how my sister feels... Celestia, even how I feel a little. I'll write you in for tonight and the other job."

>You feel a bit slighted, but quickly shake off and look about the room.

"How's the leg?"
>You ask as you take a seat with Nel and refuse cards proffered to you.
>"Healing quick!"
>She says happily,
>"Don't have the money for those fancy magic treatments, but I like natural healing anyway. Least with these small things. Betcha it raises my pain tolerance, and I wasn't doing anything strenuous these past few weeks anyhow."

"And you weren't calling me an idiot because I went and saw him too fast, right?"
>And Nel nids,
>"Oh, that was more to myself than anything... Sorry you took it that way. And spacey huh? Might have to bring him down to Equestria then. But it's good, I've had a few shitters in my lifetime, never enjoyed working under the super controling type. Kis wasn't one of those, a main reason I liked her. Shame she's gone, heard it was something to do with skimming profits for herself. Wouldn' blame her either, thought she was pretty under-appreciated."

>"So got anything exciting on the horizon? Personal or professional, I don't care. Of course, that you're willing to reveal. I myself have a job at another... Hiring office that's looking like it's gonna pan out for me. Good pay for a small commitment. Have to risk my neck for it, but we're in that business to begin with so I figured why the hell not."

"Nel, I thought you of all ponies would know about privacy. I do wish you luck with your own job though."
>After that she pauses for a brief moment and decides to continue with a huff,
>"Thanks... I hope it goes well too."
>And leans up against the wall.
>In that short time, Main's taken two ponies in, leaving three between you and the front of the line.
>Seems he's taking duos now.
>Conversation lies silent between you and Nel for a moment, and to fill the silence she retrieves her knife and starts playing with it.
>"So..."

>She finishes quietly,
"I get those feelings a lot too actually. Not in the same way, but just a feeling everything is going horribly wrong. That it's all too easy, and in the pit of my stomach that thought just festers. Probably nothing."
>Nel nods,
>"I've thought that too on a few jobs... A few problems so far, but in more than one case just been because I was so distracted thinking about how everything could go wrong. Or I've told myself that anyhow."
>You nod,
"And I'm sure you're more than just brawn Nel. If you want to talk I don't mind."
>Nel bites her lip, looks to the door and sighs.
>The two of you have moved up again, Nel standing with one other pony, the next duo to enter.
>"Seems I'm going soon so it mught have to be quick. I..."
>She pauses and clamps those teeth down on her lip harder than you've seen anypony do before, to the point you're worried she'll draw blood.
>When she releases (thankfully without scarlet appearing), she relaxes, letting her knife back into her satchel and appearing more vulnerable than perhaps you've ever seen her.
>Which isn't all that vulnerable to be honest, perhaps disarmed.
"Ah, fine. I've been having trouble with loneliness. I live alone right now. Don't tell anyone okay, but I want somepony to spend time with. Nopony here—no offense—I just think I need somepony to hang out with. And yeah I have friends, yeah I go out with them, but things just feel empty at home. >And Nel nods slowly,
>"Okay. Thanks, you're a real lifesaver."
>And trudges forward with the pony in front of her into Main's office to meet up with him.
>You step away and spend a moment chuckling at the absurdity of all this, then take a seat on the staircase and wait for Nel.
>She comes out looking rather non-plussed and unimpressed.
>"Well, he's not what I expected, but certainy not a disappointment either. Really don't know what to think of him actually."

Well, I was saying that I know exactly how you feel, but maybe on the flipside of the coin.

I have a roommate too. She's a great mare, and we cuddle every night, but it's really hard to hide this from her.
Sometimes I feel like she's so close to figuring out what I really do, and I just have to hoof wave it away from her. Just the other day, I had to spend an unexpected night over here, and she freaked out, nearly called the police on me. I even have to hide my gun from her. I can tell you, if I went home with those bandages around my hooves, I don't think she'd give me any choice but to explain everything.

Despite all that, I don't think I could stand the idea of living alone in a quiet house with nothing but a pillow to keep me company at night.

Just the other night I ended up not coming home unexpectedly, she got so worried she nearly ended up calling the police to find me. I even hide my gun from her, and let me tell you, if I ever went home with bandages like those I'd most likely have to explain everything to her."
>Nel winces a little and looks to her own hoof,
"But despite all that, I don't think I could ever stand the idea of living alone in a quiet house with nothing but a pillow for company."
>At this conclusion, Nel looks slightly impressed and sighs.
>"So I guess it really is that good. Huh. Maybe that's just you and your roommate, but I think you might have convinced me with even that short little talk. But the two of you aren't..."
>Nel stops here, suddenly taking on a much more awkward expression.
>"B-But the two of you aren't dating or anything, right? I-I'm not into mares, so I don't know how that'd go if you two were..."

>Then, you grab the package, a box about the size of your hoof, and place it into your trusty saddlebags before blowing through the front door and making for Mocha.

>The bar within is a good deal fancier than you expected, maroon seeming to be the bar's color of choice.
>Half the setting appears to be a bar, the other half a sitting area, where small snacks are being served.
>The seating area consists of rather comfortable looking armchairs, coffee tables and a small jukebox playing to the rest of the building.
>Inside you spot two green stallions, one talking with a friend, one sitting alone.
>The bar section lives up to the expectations set by the seated area, felted stools, a wide array of spirits lining the walls and a few professional looking mares and stallions manning it.
>Each one complete with cute little outfits you can't help but smile at.
>Inside the bar sits a green stallion as well, alone and with a glass of something clear.

Lets head to the bar, order something nonalcoholic, and try chatting with the stallion there. If he isn't our contact then it'll be easier to move away than if we went and sat with one in the seating area.

>You decide on the bar, where you take a seat next to the green stallion.
>He takes notice, sizes you up, raises an eyebrow and returns to his drink.
>After a little deliberation you order a cola and stretch out, thinking about how to open up to this guy.
>Thankfully, you don't have to.
>"Pretty quiet night, isn't it?"
>He asks, and after a moment of looking around the bar you shake your head.
"No, I'd say it's rather bustling tonight. Maybe not packed, but certainly not empty."
>The stallion nods,
>"Eh, guess I'm just too used to the inner city. Stuff's a lot more lively around there. Parties, shows, like a wall of noise sometimes. Came out here tonight to... Get away from it all."
>He then leans back in his chair to take a sip of his drink and coughs,
>"I see you've got some bags... Have business here tonight? Miss?"
>He leads, seeming to be asking both his former question and for your name.

You can call me Form. I'm waiting for someone, but I can chat. What's your name?
>>
>>27979001
Yeah, I've got to drop some things off at my mothers before I head to a party. She's coming home from a trip tonight. Thought I'd take a break here on the way.

"Call me Form."
>You say casually, a little surprised at how forward he is.
"And I'm dropping some stuff off at my mother's before I head to a party. She's coming home from a trip tonight. I'm also meeting someone here before I leave, but I think I have time to chat. And it seems like a good place to relax too. What's your name?"
>You ask, hoping that story's enough to cover if he isn't your guy, and a good enough hint if he is.
>He grins and chuckles,
>"My name's Soft Strokes, but most just call me Stroke. And Celestia, this is quite the place to relax. Ever been?"
>And you shrug,
"Never. Friend told me about it and said he wanted to meet up here before we went to the party."
>Stroke grins,
>"I like it... They make damn good bar food around here. Not real food mind you, but the snacks tide me over pretty well."
>He then sighs,
>"Forgot my wallet tonight though, only had a couple of bits on me. But it wasn't too bad! Still managed to get some of this!"
>He says as he shakes the clear glass in front of you and groans,
>" 's going to hit like a brick in the morning but I can deal with it. Work might be a pain. I myself teach art, sculpt and wait for a resturant in the early afternoon. You got anything to worry about in the morning after this party?"

Well like I said, my mother's back in town, so that's worrying enough on it's own. I swear that mare still thinks I'm twelve. Other than that though, no worries. I don't work tomorrow.
>>
Looks like it's a mini-session tonight, as I'm struggling to keep my eyes open. Sorry for not getting the ball rolling earlier.

>>27979232
It's fine. Good night Aight.

>And how's the weather over at your mother's place?
this is the phrase we are suppose to say you idiot
>>
>>27979284
That's what his post said though. He'll mention his mother's so we can ask that.
Not sure why he deleted it.
>>
>>27979173

Guys come on say the phrase already.
>>
>>27979828
There's really no rush, and no reason to bring attention to ourselves saying weird shit for no reason.
>>
>>27979173
This guy seems pretty talkative for somebody doing covert stuff. Lets steer the conversation back to family.
>>
>>27979231
This.
From there we can change the subject with the code and if it's not him, we can say something like "oh, I didn't mean weather I meant the zone"

>You bite your lip, still trying to figure out if this is or isn't your guy.
>Guess you'll have to pop the question casually and see his response.
"Well, like I said, my mother's back in town, which is worrying enough to begin with. I swear, that mare still thinks I'm twelve. Other than that though, no worries, I don't work tomorrow."
>The stallion laughs and clicks his tounge,
>"Lucky... Well, not with your mom, mine's quite the same. I can understand it comes from a place of love, but damn if it isn't ever a pain."
>He then stretches out, and takes another sip,
>"She works in advertising for a granary, which is a bit of an odd thing to go through growing up. Even today, I'm sure I still have a bias towards Chaff, the company she works for. Funnily named I think."

Off topic question, does Sharp have her gun tonight? I tentatively remember someone saying she should bring it every job.
>>
>>27982190
Granary advertising? I didn't even know that was a thing. Does she work from Canterlot then, or wherever the granary is?
>>
>>27982190
Yes, we brought the gun.

Is that so? How's the weather over at your mother's place?

"Granary advertising? Didn't even know that was a thing!"
>And he laughs,
>"Have to get breadmaking companies to buy it somehow!"
>You shrug, admitting you'd never really thought about the intricacies of the farming industry.
"So where does she work? Canterlot? A granary?"
>"A her company's granary off in the country actually. They decided to build up in a rural settlement and industrialize it a bit. Called Third Wharf, it's also pretty close to the coast."
>Your eyes light up excitedly, you planned this conversation perfectly.
"So how is the weather over at your mother's place?"
>The stallion nods and shrugs,
>"Eh, it's nice out there I suppose. It's a port town in many ways, which means they get a lot of the fresh sea weather. Brisk air and all that. Refreshing, I like to stop by in the summer for a few days when they're harvesting and it's always warm."
>Hopes going from high to disappointed, your mind races for a way to step out of the conversation.
>"Haven't taken a real a vacation in a long time..."
>The stallion muses,
>"Always been quick trips for me as of late. You got a favorite place to go or something? I'd like some ideas."

I usually like to stay around Canterlot.
Hey, I hate to break this short, but I'm gonna check on that pony I'm meeting.

If there are no other green stallions, ask to take a seat at the table, next to the stallion if possible. If we sit next to him, we might be able to drop the package on the seat without his friend noticing, assuming it is our guy.
>>
>>27983938
Actually, I like-oh, sorry Stroke, but I think I just spotted my friend. It was nice talking to you though. Enjoy your night.
>>
>>27983969
We should sit with the lone one first.
>>
>>27983980
That's what we're doing right now. He's not our guy.
>>
>>27983990
Oh, I thought there were two in the sitting area and one at the bar.
>>
>>27984003
Oh no, you are right, that part is just worded confusingly.

Yeah, go with the alone one.
>>
>>27984019
Yeah, you can read it two ways.
Also thinking about it now it was better to do the bar first but the sitting area was the more likely option.
It would have been hard to discreetly pass a package at the bar.

"I usually like to stay around Canterlot. A—"
>You say, then falsely pretending to spot somepony over in the sitting area.
"Oh! Sorry Stroke, I think I'm going to go check on the pony I'm meeting here, I just saw him. Enjoy your night!"
>You says cheerily as you stand up,
>"Oh, y-you too Form!"
>He says rather confusedly as you set off, then looks back to the bar.
>As you cross the restaurant, you spot the mare who was selling flowers before at a small raised table on the bar side.
>Your stomach does a bit of a somersault, maybe her being here is just a coincidence?
>She's chatting with a stallion, and has a pink drink in front of her, full and the ice not yet melted.
>You continue past her, keeping your cool, stopping just before you reach the lone green stallion's seat.
>How do you make your entrance?

Oh, this makes things awkward. Not sure if it's best to complete things or warn him off.
We should at least confirm it's him before anything else.
Approach and ask if he'd mind some company.
>>
I'm gone until tomorrow. Really shitty timing, but the thread over and I don't have the time to justify a new session. However, we should be a lot more consistent from then on out. Cheers all!
