7 - Don't ask why, but the elevator is haunted by a spooky and/or scary ghost.

My younger sister is heavily disabled, physically and mentally. Although she's now 21, she's developmentally somewhere between 4 and 10, and unlikely to progress further. Physically, she probably would be older, but we got the GP to put her on puberty blockers, so she doesn't grow too big to easily look after.
I was, essentially, a third parent whilst she was growing up. Except my dad worked away six days a week, so I was almost a second parent. I don't want to do that again.
On top of that, I met my little sister's best friend's mother - a single parent. When the child was born (with visible disabilities), the dad said "Jesus, I knew it would be bad... But she's fucking ginger on top of it.", and then he walked out. I don't want to have to walk out on a long term partner, but I refuse to put up with a disabled child. Once was enough. And I would walk out.
So to avoid that, I'm just going to not have kids. Maybe - MAYBE - go through IVF or something with the clear understanding that if there's issues, we flush it. And I'd definitely consider adopting (at a slightly older age, so you've skipped toilet training), but I'm not really sure on that, other than trying to help someone else who wants a family. But I don't want my own natural kids.

Pretty much that. His armor would amplify his spells by several magnitudes. Not that he has many spells to begin with (he has a minor haste spell that the armor would make it feel like the world stopped moving around him for a short time), but enough to get by.

Then his head gear would give him night/infrared/heat vision, in addition to normal and magnified sight.

This sounds like a lot but I'm thinking he develops this over years, and that haste spell is something he can only cast like once before it wears him down.

I pushed it about a hundred years in the future so i could justify there being enough buns spread throughout equestria to fit the story. In a hundred years the buns have built their numbers up to almost a hundred thousand, and the Equestrian population is between 130 and 150 million. I thought this was enough buns for my villainesses to enact their plan.

The time skip also means all the anons are long dead, it's just ponies and a small number of satyrs. Enough that they aren't unusual. That's something that only occurred to me earlier today actually, just a coincidence, but it also helps remove buncest from the setting.

My point is, very few of the current cast of ponies and satyrs are still alive, which gives me a bit more freedom with my story, and allows me to create some new characters.

Also all the bun satyrs are female, this is just to remove the incest from the buns. No incest.

The main character is a bun girl who is newly homeless at the start of the story, thanks to a series of suspiciously bad luck. Her name is Alice in reference to the white rabbit from wonderland, as well as some other connections which are kind of spoilers.

She becomes friends with a group of satyrs later, and most of them are ancestors of ponies from the show or satyrs from this thread. Do you want a brief description of them? They aren't finished but i can post something.


I dont want to say too much and spoil anything. It's going to be a little bit mystery, a little bit action, and a lot of adventure, set in a more developed and slightly more urbanized equestria. Alice is essentially discovering the plot her extended family has been working on for almost a century, and she is attempting to stop them from freeing something evil and destructive, something which will threaten all life on the planet.

This is a strange point to make anon. Most stories feature characters unique to that story, it's kind of the point for each syory to be unique. The same characters can only go so far. This applies to books, comics, movies, and tv series, any kind of narrative/fiction really.

Comic books use the same character ad nauseum, but each version is still slightly different.

I don't want to write about other people's characters, it's to restricting. I'm changing the setting slightly and introducing new characters so i can create something fresh and unique.

Any time you consume a new narrative you meet new characters, it's the role of the author to get you invested in them. Give me a chance, i think i will surprise you.

Ooh, good question! So far the roster is locked, but you will be able to affect how well the protagonist gets on with the others. It's a group working towards a shared goal, they don't technically need to be friends, and one member is already biased to dislike and distrust Alice.

The first three (four?) members are introduced simultaneously, but there are at least two others who will be introduced later. There's three satyrs initially, and one zebra who plays a major role, but doesn't leave her hut any more.

The roughly planned satyrs are Sapphine, great granddaughter of Garret and Laika. Named after her great great aunt, and another reference i won't say yet.

Amadi (name pending), great great grandson of a certain Zebra.

And an as yet unnamed drake, the great grandson of Snap, who is the daughter of Crackle. He's a talented craftsman, with a speciality in working with metal, glass, and ceramics. A gentle giant who takes after his great grandmother, he's a little bit goofy, and one of his eyes is skewed.

There's also a rock witch and a changeling in the works. I'm being careful to avoid edge or mary sueness.

I want this story to be dynamic, so I'm going to try and avoid setting things in stone. It's also important to keep in mind I'm working on it one session at a time, so my rough plan for the story could be completely different to the finished product. Anything i say about the future of the story shouldn't be taken as fact, for example i spent two hours last night trying to plan the villainess' goal and I still haven't decided.

Also when i said keep people i meant choosing whether they should live or die, not necessarily saving or babysitting them. Do you put them out of their misery? Do you let them try to make amends? Stuff like that, not like escorting some in a video game, or pushing them out of the way of a falling rock.

Instead of thinking of it as several possible endings, A B C or D, it's better to think of it as a mixture, like pouring different colours of paint into a bucket and mixing it all up.

As great as the satyrs in this thread are, it would be completely out of place for them to be in the story, especially if they are there because of some kind of monstrous powers. That would actually poke a lot of holes in my story.

I've said it before but there will be at least one returning character. But it has been over a century, most of the characters you know have died, after they had lived full and happy lives, and had families. There's only a handful of existing characters that won't have died of old age, the princesses, discord, chrysalis, etc. Anyone immortal or extremely powerful is probably still alive.

Why do you want the familiar characters so much? They weren't always familiar, at some point someone created them and introduced them to the thread. At some point you had never seen them before, but for whatever reason you started to follow them, and you got invested in them despite not having any prior knowledge.

The main cast are all satyrs, the villain is a satyr, and the story revolves around satyrs. One of the main plot points is based around what happens when a human reproduces with a non human, as in the side effects beyond the offspring.

The idea started as literally as just 'CYOA about homeless bun satyr'. It's grown a lot since then, but i think it's still relevant here because the main focus is on satyrs.

I've already explained why i chose to set it in the future, i don't think it's a problem. The established characters wouldn't work, and I like making my own.
