I'm very familiar with that and the issues mentioned. I already had to deal with what happens if the previous owner doesn't use it and lets it all dry out. Took some work but I managed to get all the print heads working and ink tubes primed. Now that ts running I am amazed at how well and quickly this thing prints.

Already printed a pattern and then a revised version and saved like 4 hours of cutting and taping them together.

And yeah, its a plotter primarily for engineering drawings (perfect for patterns) but because it's basically a giant (complex) inkjet printer I can also do graphics and posters.

With shipping, it cost $300. I couldn't find any cheaper options at the time that were open, but if you look around, you might find something more affordable.

Also, it depends on what character you want. Some ponies cost more than others. For example, originally my OC was going to be ~200, but because I wanted a larger size, and the cutie mark was a bit difficult to work with, it bumped up to $300

They're nice but embroidered are superior imo. A really good applique eye design will compete with an embroidered eye, but I've yet to see a really good applique CM compare with an embroidered one.

How are people's Bronycon plans going? Right now I'm looking at $115 for the room from Thursday-Sunday, and $156 for the round trip from Rochester to Baltimore (Amtrak. Not a fan of busses. 6 Hour layover in NYC Penn Station on the return trip, but Amtrak has a lounge for people to stay in, so I won't just be sitting next to a Dunkin Donuts).

MSQC is good, but their base prices are a bit high.

The Minky Boutique is nice, cheap, and fast, but they don't always stock every color, and their colors are hit and miss when compared to Shannon minky's colors. (Shannon is THE minky manufacturer.) They have swatches, which I 100% recommend if you order from them, but beware using them when purchasing from other minky places.

Fabric.com is hit or miss with processing and shipping. Wrinkled and/or dirty fabrics are common, as well as mix ups. Though they have gotten better about that recently. And, they stock almost every color all the time.

Plush Addict (UK) is really the only place to get a full sample card from. About $30 with shipping to the US, but I can't stress that it is THE best investment I've made other than my embroidery machine.

Those are my primary minky purchasing places, but there are other places if need be.

MSQC has a solid selection of minky, good shipping prices, and customer service, but their prices are a bit higher.

Fabric.com is shit in my book, and I refuse to ever order minky from them again. They might be better now, but a year or so back, 4/5 of my orders were fucked (either dirty, wrinkled to shit, or completely wrong).

I've gone through Fabric Depot before too when I need a real specific minky color. Shipping is higher, but they have some colors you might not find elsewhere
