next time just start the pinkie pie baker/waiter/confectioner thread the normal way instead of focusing on one thing like Betanon's story. (which is flipping awesome)
>>
>>27444048
OP clearly didn't know what he was doing. He put what he thought was the name of the thread in the name slot, thinking subject was something different. It's pretty funny really. If he did it right, it would be fine. He tried at least

>LAST TIME ON POSSIBLY BURNING BRIDGES WITH PIES:

“See? Was that so hard to say before?”
>He blows a raspberry at you.
“What are you gonna do now?”
>That question seemed to have brought him back down to earth.
>As his demeanor changed from positive to indifferent.
>”I dunno.”
>He starts to look down at the floor.
>As if the floor was going to solve his problems.
>”I suppose I should get a head start on finding a new job before Chase can start spreading rumors out there.”
>He puts on a smile for you.
>”What about you? When do you go back to work?”
>You do have to be in tonight to bake.
>Then you take another look at your phone.
>After hearing what Anon just did.
>You now feel like if he can get over his problems and just walk away from it.
>Perhaps you could have one last conversation with your father before finally leaving him.
>Maybe even start a family with Anon.
>Now you're getting ahead of yourself.
>You look back to Anon.
“I..., Actually have some business to attend to today.”
>You say as you wave your phone to him.
“Something I need to take care of myself.”
>Anon smiles and makes his way to you.
>He holds you close and gives you a kiss.
>”Good luck to the both of us today then.”
>He rests his forehead on your own.
>You both hold each other for a brief minute before finally letting go.
>You go and shower and get ready.
>You give Anon one more kiss before heading out the door.
>You get into your car.
>And head off to your parents house.
>>
>>27447976
>WE NOW RETURN TO YOUR SLOWLY UPDATING GREEN:

>The drive over gave you a chance to think.
>And prepare.
>You decided you weren't going to take his crap.
>Not this time.
>You weren’t sure how he is going to react.
>Or how he was going to feel for that mater.
>One thing was for sure though.
>If he acted up.
>You were simply just going to walk out.
>From his room.
>From his life.
>You'll keep tabs with your sisters and by proxy, your mother as well.
>But you were simply not going to stand for your father mocking you.
>Even after such a loss.
>The thought still brings you on the verge of tears.
>But you hold them in.
>You may need them in a minute.
>You finally make it there.
>You haven't seen this place in about a week.
>Obviously nothing has really changed.
>You walk up the concrete walkway up to the porch.
>You open the front door.
>Which was unlocked.
>Once in the house you see many bouquets of flowers decorated all over the living room.
>Some even spilling off into the dining room and even kitchen.
>The various flowers gave off vibrant colors to the classical theme the house has always had.
>You walk over to a table at the end of the living room.
>It is littered with picture frames of Maud and more flowers.
>One of the first pictures you notice is one of all your siblings and yourself.
>You're all sitting on a large rock at the entrance of a mine.
>All of you are smiling.
>Even Maud.
>It was just her signature upside down frown.
>That's what you always told her when you were kids and when she tried to smile.
>Her smile would get slightly wider when you told her that.
>You can feel the waterworks begin to turn in your head.
>You turn away from the pictures and stand off in the middle of the room.
>It was then you see your mother walk from the top of the stairs.
>Wearing her usual sun dress as what the weather called for today.
>Holding a small purse as she always did.
>Her eyes looked tired and strained.
>>
>>27447994

>Probably from crying a lot as well.
>She spots you and quickly comes to you.
>She grabs you and gives you a long tight hug.
>You return the favor and wrap your arms around her.
>And try to squeeze just as tight as her but can't.
>You both stand there for a while.
>You can now hear your mother sob.
>It was then finally you let some tears flow.
>You bury your face into your mothers shoulder and use it to wipe away the tears.
>You break free from your mothers grasp and take a deep breath.
“Hi mom.”
>You meekly tell her.
>”It's so good to have you in this house again.”
>She tells you.
>She opens her purse up and takes a napkin out.
>She goes on to wipe her tears dry and blows her nose.
“It's good to see you mom.”
>She nods.
>Trying to hold back more tears.
>Poor woman.
>She's probably been like this the whole time.
“Where's Limestone and Marble?”
>You ask to try and distract her.
>If only for a bit.
>”They're at work. Igneous is too hurt to work or even leave the house so the girls are running things while he heals up.”
>Yeah.
>He was injured.
>You suck in your lips and look down at the floor.
>You look up to your mother.
“Where is he?”
>She moves out of your way.
>”He's in his office.”
>She points out a door in the corner of the room.
>You nod at her.
>You give her one more hug and kiss.
>You stand in front of the door.
>You place your hand on the doorknob.
>You freeze for a moment.
>This is it.
>You open the door and enter his office.
>And close the door behind you.
>There he was.
>Looking away from you.
>He was sitting in a wheelchair.
>From what you can see there is bandages wrapped atop his head.
>And can see one arm resting on the side of the chair.
>His head is tilted downwards.
>He doesn't seem to notice you were in there.
>You clear your throat.
“Hey Dad.”
>You put a little volume in your voice to try and catch his attention.
>>
>>27448006

>He slowly raises his head.
>He's still looking away from you.
>”When I was a child. Nothing I ever did was good enough for my parents. In school, at home, anything I did.”
>He lowers his head again.
>”I resented them at the time for this. Growing up, I wanted to be an architect. They didn't care much for anything other than the family business. So they saw my sketches and works as a 'waste of time.'”
>Sounds oddly familiar.
>But you still say nothing.
>Wanting to see where he is going with this.
>”It only made me obsessed. I wanted to please them so badly, I attended college to pursue architecture. I overworked myself, had a mental breakdown. Only for my parents to muse about how I failed. I dropped out of college. Went to work for the family business. And even then, everything I did wasn't good enough for them.”
>This is the first you've heard about him wanting to be an architect.
>”Before I realized it. I was married with a single daughter. Grandpa passed away and he did not once in my life tell me he was proud of me.”
>His voice started to crack at the end of that.
>He then cleared his throat and continued on.
>”In the end, I had the 4 of you. Not sure what to do with daughters. I just raised you as differently as I could from how I was raised.”
>Yeah, that's bullshit.
>He raises his head again.
>”Didn't end up going that way. I kept you all from doing your own things and turned you all towards the family business. You were the only one that had any sort of resistance over time while the other three complied. When you did that. I panicked in my head. I didn't want you to go through what I did.”
>>
>>27448070

>He shakes his head.
>”I say that now, but what did I do to you? Did I encourage you to follow your dreams? Did I offer any sort of help? No, I did the same exact thing my parents did to me.”
>It's starting to hit close to home now.
>”I took to your defiance and kicked you out of the house. Thinking you'll give up on your hopes and dreams and to come back and work for the family. Little did I know that you were not the only one I was losing.”
>He lowers his head once more.
>”Maud had refused to speak to me after that night.”
>His breathing is getting erratic.
>”I thought she would get over it over time. But oh how fragile life truly is.”
>He is sobbing now.
>”She died hating me. I know she did, and I..., I have to live with that for the rest of my life.”
>He raises his hand to rub his eye.
>Is he breaking down?
>”No parent wants to bury their own child. Ever. I've been spending everyday since the accident wishing, praying that I would give everything I own for it to have been me and not Maud.”
>This is getting sad.
>And not in the pathetic sense either.
>He finally turns his wheelchair to face you.
>There are bandages covering his left eye.
>His right arm is in a cast and sling.
>His midsection is bandaged up.
>His one good eye is red.
>Probably from crying.
>Something you thought he wasn't capable of doing.
>He was staring at you with a stream of tears flowing out of his good eye.
>”I have nobody to blame but myself for all this...”
>He slowly rolls towards you.
>”But I want you to know that I am sorry... From the bottom of my mangled heart for everything I have done to you over the years.”
>He stops in front of you.
>And looks up to you
“...and that I love you. I have been a terrible father to you all. I am also sorry that a tragedy like this had to happen for me to realize this.”
>He grabs one of your hands.
>And he gives it a squeeze.
>His grip is as strong as ever.
>>
>>27448081

>Even in his injured state
>”I don't expect you to forgive this old man for a lifetime of hardships. I accept that. If you want to walk out of my life for everything I have done, I will respect that. But please just know...”
>He starts to cry again.
>”...That I will love you no matter what you do with your life and I will be proud of you.”
>He lets you go.
>”I've lost one child already. I don't want to loose anymore...”
>He slowly begins to roll away from you.
>You just stand there.
>You were not expecting this.
>You really weren't.
>You were ready to lay into him if he got out of hand.
>But now.
>Of all times.
>He decides to pour his heart out to you.
>You just stare at him.
>Waiting for a reaction.
>You stay still for a moment.
>Not sure how to process this.
>Finally you speak up.
“Does this mean I'm welcome back in the house?”
>Your father snorts and causes him to have another silent crying fit.
>You go up to him.
>You get down on one knee.
>And embrace him.
>He is taken back at your reaction.
>He wraps his good arm around you.
>And much like your mother did before.
>He sobs into your shoulder.
>You let some tears flow yourself.
>But in all honesty.
>You're not sure if you're ready to fully forgive him.
>But you suppose this was a good start.

All I have for now as I might disappear for the night. but the next update will pretty much be the end.

Damn dude, you made me cry a little. This reminded me of dad who's gone now. He was an abusive asshole who cheated on my mom for years. He got in a motorcycle incident, almost died, but recover. Happen two days before my 18th birtday. Im 20 now. Died a year later because he travel all over mexico instead of resting. Lung collapsing or something. Idiot. He never apolagize to my mom. I hated him for making my moms life a hell and leaving us. He told me and my siblings that he loves us, but those apologies were half assed. He did worse stuff, ask me if you like me to tell
Your story made me wonder if my dad would ever actually tried to redeem himself, to actually feel shame for his actions, but I'll never know.

>ONE YEAR LATER

>Toasted coriander.
>Toasted fennel.
>Black Peppercorn.
>Dried curry leaves.
>Cumin seeds.
>Black mustard seeds.
>Sweet paprika.
>Turmeric.
>Blend it all up into a power.
>Rub onto a whole pork shoulder.
>Place into a smoker.
>That'll be done in about 8 hours.
>In the meantime.
>You have one ready to go.
>You begin to pull it into shreds.
>You place some onto a toasted bun.
>You spray it with a little bit of house-made BBQ sauce.
>And some house made sliced dill pickles.
>Add a side of some house-made coleslaw.
>*BING*
>”Order up!”
>A Young woman looking to be in her early twenties whips on by and grabs the plate.
>She walk on by another part of the kitchen where more 'magic' is happening.
>Mixing milk, cream and sugar into a sauce pan over a heated stove.
>Once done, remove the pan from the heat and add yeast.
>Allow the yeast to do it's job and let the mixture sit.
>While doing that, take flower, salt and butter.
>Put them all into a mixing bowl and knead with your hands.
>Once it's at a constancy you like you add the milk and yeast mixture.
>Add in a beaten egg.
>Mix all ingredients until a doughy texture is reached.
>Place dough onto a flower covered flat surface.
>Begin kneading until dough is smooth and elastic.
>Let dough sit for about 90 minutes so it can expand twice it's size.
>Once done, flatten and knead the dough once more.
>Mold dough into a log.
>Cut log into 6 pieces as evenly as you can.
>Roll the pieces into balls.
>Let those sit for another 90 minutes.
>Once done, brush some eggwash on each roll.
>Sprinkle sesame seeds on them.
>Place in oven for 15 minutes.
>Or until all of them are golden brown.
>Let them cool.
>You now have hamburger buns.
>Hand them over to the chef.
>Onto the next recipe.
>>
>>27454689

>On your way back you pass by the waitress who was taking out food to patrons.
>She's holding several plates this time passing you by.
>The young woman.
>Who looked maybe in her early 20's
>With short purple hair.
>Wearing a black t-shirt with a gray sweater over.
>The sleeves pushed up to her elbows.
>And brown short cargo pants that only go down to her shins.
>She continues on into a relatively small dining area.
>Yet the dining room is at capacity.
>And there is a line out the door waiting for a seat.
>It's been like this for weeks.
>In the year since everything happened.
>You both had come to an understanding.
>To go for broke and put all your resources in going through with the joke ambition you both came up with.
>And that was to start your own establishment.
>A fusion style gastropub.
>Anon obviously heading the food side.
>Whilst Pinkie Pie handles baking anything the food side needs.
>Then later in the day begins to bake sweets such as cakes and cookies and pies.
>It wasn't easy to get to this point.
>You both had to put all your finances together.
>Despite what Anon says.
>He actually had a sizable amount saved up.
>Still wasn't enough.
>So you went to the bank for a loan.
>You were granted a pretty decent loan.
>Even ran away with a micro-interest rate.
>That was mostly thanks to Pinkie Pie's dad.
>He signed on as a co-signer and due to his line of credit and financial status.
>The Bank literally let him dictate the stipulations of the loan.
>He really didn't have to.
>But he did it all on his own.
>He didn't even find out you were going through with this if it weren't for your mother mentioning it to him.
>Guess you could say it was another 'I'm sorry' gift to you two.
>With it, not only were you able to secure a prime building in a prime location.
>You also both live above the establishment in a 3 bedroom condo.
>>
>>27454696

>You still had extra cash from the purchase.
>So Anon used it to get a medium sized smoker installed into the building.
>After quitting his job, Anon spent some time in Appaloosa
>With the help of the Apple siblings, he was able to apprentice under Braeburn in the art of barbecue.
>With his previous cooking knowledge, it really only took him maybe two weeks to get it all down.
>Now he uses the new restaurant to try out experimental BBQ rubs and sauces.
>You both agreed to have a bar installed with a 22 tap draft system.
>Because craft beer was the way of the future.
>But an experienced bartender handy would be nice as well.
>Finally.
>You both agreed to have a small stage built at the far end of the restaurant.
>Just behind the bar.
>Some nights you would hold small gatherings in the later hours.
>You'd let local musicians come in and perform while you still serve beer and drinks.
>Pinkie would bake some experimental pastries and sell them only during these hours.
>Same with Anon and trying out some finger foods.
>You'd have an assistant working along side you both as well.

>You are Anon.
>And you are just about finishing up for the day.
>More like, you were shutting down most of the kitchen.
>Tonight was a night you were going to have a live band play.
>And look who it is.
>It's Tender Taps' 'vintage' band.
>You know you should be heading the kitchen tonight.
>But with your friend performing, You have to be there for just this one.
>So you decide to let your assistant go nuts tonight and come up with something.
>All credit will go to him, of course.
>You walk out into the dining area.
>>
>>27454696

>It's packed tonight.
>You moved some tables off from the floor to have a mini dance floor.
>And the people are making good use of the space.
>You squeeze your way to the bar.
>And order a beer.
>Nothing fancy tonight
>You catch the song currently in play.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZpdXgsI6C0
>Tender does his thing.
>Looks a lot less formal than he did the last time you saw him.
>Gray slacks with a white long sleeve dress shirt.
>He's rocking suspenders instead of a belt.
>The song ends.
>People cheer for the group.
>You add your own voice in.
>”Thank you people and thank you very much for coming out to this great place to see us!”
>More cheers from the crowd.
>”We're gonna take a short break, but don't you worry! We'll be right back with our boy tender Taps on the mike!”
>Tender does a little tap routine on stage to more people cheering.
>Sounds like a lot of the ladies in attendance are feeling it too.
>They all go off stage.
>Some mingle with the people.
>Some head to the bar and grab a drink.
>Tender comes straight to you.
>He extends his arms out to you.
>You embrace him for a bro hug.
>”My man! How are you doing!?”
>Tender seems to be excited to see you.
“I'm doing a lot better!”
>You yell over the loud sounds of people talking yelling, laughing and genuinely having a blast.
>”That so!?”
>He asks as he orders a drink from the bar
“I mean; The hours are worse, the pay is nonexistent, the responsibilities are endless!”
>You take a chug of your beer.
>Then you feel a weight on your back.
>You turn to see Pinkie Pie.
>Already with drink in hand.
>Wide grin on her face.
>You return her smile.
>You wrap your arm around her and hold her close.
>And turn back to Tender.
“And I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world!”
>Tender laughs.
>>
>>27454718

>He receives his drink.
>A simple rum and cola.
>You both chat up for a bit.
>Catching up on things.
>About music.
>About life choices.
>Tender finishes his drink.
>”Alright, well I need to get up there and knock them down!”
>You pat him on his shoulder.
”Good luck my friend!”
>He then takes a look at the both of you.
>”Good luck to the both of you!”
>He holds his hands out.
>Then clasps his hands together to signify the unity between you two.
>He then makes his way back on stage with the rest of the band.
>The crowd goes crazy again.
>”Thank you thank you!”
>He waves to the crowd.
>Who is finally settling down.
>”I just want to say it's great seeing all your faces out here, supporting us and supporting this new local spot!”
>More cheers from the crowd.
>”I would like to start off with a song dedicated to the lovely couple who actually own this place. It's..., kiiiiinda how they met. Not really but I like to think so! It's also an excuse to play this song!”
>The crowd claps and goes silent.
>The pianist starts off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1D6qWO-JzQ
>Both you and Pinkie laugh at the song choice.
>While true.
>It's not how you two met.
>But it's more accurate to say it's how you got together more or less.
>You get up off your stool.
>>
>>27454728

>And extend your hand to Pinkie.
>She looks at you for a moment.
>A warm smile on her face.
>She finally takes your hand.
>But she was one step ahead of you.
>As soon as she takes your hand she pulls you onto the dance floor before you could.
>You both twirl and dance to the music.
>Two step.
>And genuinely act like dorks on the dance floor.
>Pretty much like everyone else.
>You finally both hold each other close.
>Pinkie places her nose onto yours.
>Then both your foreheads meet.
>Your eyes are closed.
>You don't need them at this moment.
>You know she's smiling and happy.
>As you are sure she knows the very same for you.
>Because you are smiling.
>This was your life.
>This was how it was going to go.
>You don't know for how long.
>You hope for the rest of your lives.

That was fucking amazing!
If you don't mind, I have a few questions.

1. Do you have more green? If so, please link! Because you are a genius!

2. Do you actually cook yourself? If not, how did you get all those recipes?

3. As a jazz musician myself, I love post modern jukebox! Do you like jazz in general, or do you specifically like this band?

Thank you writefriend...

1. I do have others:
http://pastebin.com/u/BetAnonTheSecond
Everything is there.

2. I watched a lot of cooking shows over the years. also got some of these recipes off youtube.

3. I'm one of those 'if it sounds good to me, I like it regardless of genre" I do have the usual suspects of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and what not and Postmodern Jukebox has always been a favorite for me.

>>27455865
Yeah, I figured the 'end' was kid of where Pinkie halfway mended with her father and the scene at the Gastropub was more of an epilogue .

Don't know if that makes it better or if that was your criticism or not. But if you're still hanging around do tell. I'd love to learn from my mistakes.

Again thanks for the read guys.

It sucks having to kill someone off. especially with a story like this one. I just felt that that would have been the only extreme that could have caused Pink's dad to do a 180 that quickly since I still didn't thinks his near death experience wouldn't have pushed him that far.

I don't know. It still sucked having to kill someone off though.
