When this Stalright meme wiil end? I hope she will become a seocnd Zecora character after S6. So far she feels like a long term investment without a pay off.
Maybe the finale with Discord make me like her more? I just wished she would have some personality rather than saying "hello" and smiling. She has the most bland "real life" personality of a every day girl that appeared in Equestria. Same type of writing that happneed to Sunset after reformation.

A friend of mine put it well, he said Sunset and Starlight are both impossible to describe beyond used-to-be-evil because they just don't have a personality that fits the setting and the VERY colorful main cast.

I'm usually not into character archetype but he is right

Fluttershy is unique due her shyness
Dash due her tomboyish perosnality
Rarity due her being very feminine
Twilight due being a geek and nerdy
Applejack due to being a hick and "simple minded"
Pinkie to being obnoxious and loud

Starlight has similar "blank slate" personality of Sunset. They were charismatic and manipulative because they were firstly introduced as villains. By making them quickly reform and lose those traits, writers didn't thought to actually replace those quirks with something else. Like Starlight could have some obsession over occultism and turn into a goth or interest toward weed and turn into original tree hugger. Anything that make you differ from bg ponies would be awesome because people will remember that character and not "average Joe"

Yeah exactly this. They took away their only given traits which were basically 'be evil' and didn't replace them. I mean, it's a bit of a good thing cause now they can develop the characters, but based on the episodes she's starred in, the only trait Starlight has is 'remorseful', which isn't particularly interesting and maybe 'sarcastic', but I think that depends on the writer.
Let's hope this episode gives her more or a personality.
She's still super cute though
