Shimmer was originally supposed to look ayy also, but about half the time she's drawn, she has grey-ish eyes, and the drawing by FTA had her having actual eyes, but just a grey overlay for them. I kind of mixed that all together here so her eyes could look at least somewhat normal in EQG form.

Hell, Sequin and Hexferry having Hexagonal eyes are probably one of the more normal ones out there. I've noticed how most of the others, when not using compound eyes, have a yellowish tint around the pupils.

It just looked kind of weird to me when I had them as pure-black was the thing. They aren't exactly normal as-is, with the grey, but they fit in better.
I was probably just subconsciously too lazy to refigure where the eye-shines would be.
