Really, though. The statistical chance of someone being corrected and being satisfied with such is incredibly low. It's more time efficient to let people trip over their own failed assumptions and misunderstandings so it can leave some scar tissue so they can learn from that behavior, thus improving all their future conversations.

Of course, this assumes they're interested in learning from their mistakes, which is equally unlikely.
