This was my first time coming across the show itself (found bits of the fan content before hand).

I remember clicking it once then ignoring it, but something kept drawing me back to click on it again throughout the day, which eventually I did and it led to more and more videos which became longer than 5 seconds, then became full episodes, all the while I kept trying to force myself not to do it.

I think I'm the only person on the planet who thinks this. Incredibly heartfelt ending. They didn't make fun of crossdressing - nopony treated it as a big deal. That was so powerful to me.

My #1 thing about that episode is what Big Mac is willing to do to make his sister happy. He'd probably rather not be involved in the Social, but he thought it was important to Apple Bloom, so he went all-out.

High point is right before the "Sisterhood" song. I wish Big Mac's falsetto wasn't in there (ruins a cute song) but you get a great line that shows his character:

At the time in 2012 I got disillusioned with the passionate fans of the show, along with the show itself after midway into season 2 (?). I felt like I was doing myself no favors with watching or liking anything to do with it. I was like "fuck this nonsense...." and didn't know how to deal with it. I wanted to express how I felt somehow, and came up with something I found personally funny and didn't mind posting everywhere. The whole "all male bronies are closet gay" thing played alot into how funny for me it was to post it everywhere, mostly because I kinda believed it to an extent, at least in the "you people are terrible and retarded" sense. The sentence in itself is an accusation!

I continuously hit f5 to get the first post on new threads (most of which were worthless garbage), and found that really fun and addicting. I was like a fucking sniper every time I got first reply, it felt great. Not to mention how fun it was to piss people off and to see them argue with me. I remember laughing so hard when I saw other people start to post it around along with me, it was great. Some even tried to outsnipe me, and I prided myself in beating them to the punch.

It was lots of fun to watch reactions, read the greentexts, and look at the art that people drew about that mysterious sentence, I was kinda touched this dumb thing I didn't even make to begin with resonated with people (positively or negatively), I even made appearances in pony thread simulator vids and shit like that, it made me happy to be noticed.

People even posted it long after I quit from boredom and auto deletions (at least once a month for years after!),it was odd to be respected in a backwards way like that (even if ironic).

I was confused as fuck when I saw ponies everywhere, getting annoyed about how all the "weeaboos" were watching a show for little girls. And people in the business were writing serious articles about precisely that phenomenon: licensing per country and delaying episodes means your show never goes viral. Letting everyone livestream/upload it was a huge part of the reboot for the MLP brand.

Sorry to hear that. /mlp/ was pretty awesome when it first came out in early 2012. Then I feel once season 3 started people started taking things too seriously. Suddenly it became a race to have the most superior tastes without even a hint of irony or self awareness. Where before literally nothing would trigger our board, just posting a picture of Twilight with wings would fan the flames for quite a while.

The scruffening was also poorly timed, as people assumed Faust was unintentionally related in some way. Then labels like Hasdrone and Faustfag were made and the rest is history.

Though 2015 wasn't so bad for /mlp/, and this year has been pretty good so far. It's just a shame /mlp/ will never be that impenetrable again. I just miss the days when people would say how much they hated pizza.
