Season 2 is disgusting and set up all the concepts for why the latter seasons are so garbage.
But no please keep insisting that season 2 is amazing. It makes it all the more obvious who is and isn't a retarded double standard faggot with no judgement.
[spoiler?]If only 100% of the fanbase wasn't insane.[/spoiler]

>Failing to spoiler
You tried.

Seasons 2 and 5 are the best.
Can any of you faggots even point out why MLP is a good show and why specifically the latter seasons are better?
For that matter argument why season 3 is supposedly worse than any other season.
>>26751791
I actually like season 4 the least, but that's not a very popular way of seeing things.
>>26751734
No, that was 3 and 4.
"Season 1 is the best."
Fixed that for you.
>>26751803
Well besides MMC, Season 3 was good.

Indeed they are.

People don't like season 2 anymore? Hearts & Hooves is still one of my favorite episodes.
>>26752512
That's about 1/4th of the reason.
>>26752512
That shit was fucking BRUTAL.
>>26752532
I think it's the freshest, edgiest meme these days, to say that S1 and S2, or just one of the two, were the worst seasons.

>Why is MLP a good show
It's been explained many times and there are much more thorough explanations than I could give in this post, but I'll just say because it is—or used to be—an honest attempt at storytelling. It doesn't go for cliches or subversions; it just follows adventure/fantasy/slice-of-life plotlines, tells a story, and teaches a moral in the process. A wholesome children's show, essentially, which is why it had the e/i rating (educational/informational) in the first two seasons.
>why specifically the latter seasons are better
I am not of this opinion and haven't rewatched the seasons in a long time, so I can't provide a stellar answer for this.
>why season 3 is supposedly worse
Its halved amount of episodes gives it a skewed proportion of more bad than good episodes. It followed in the wake of what many people here consider the best two seasons, and while nowadays you'll hear some negative words about it, I do believe A Canterlot Wedding was well-received as a season finale. Then when The Crystal Empire debuted, it felt lackluster, rubbing out-of-nowhere Princess Cadance and Shining Armor more in the faces of the viewers, and presenting a weak antagonist in Sombra. There were some great episodes in Season 3, like Sleepless in Ponyville and Just for Sidekicks, but most of the episodes felt mediocre to poor, including the widely-regarded low point of the series, Spike at Your Service. Discord's reformation struck a sour note with some. And then of course there's Magical Mystery Cure and Princess Twilight, and you know how divisive that was (and still is). Basically, it didn't feel like Season 1 or Season 2, and not in a good way; and its shortened length, which was because Hasbro wasn't sure if they would keep it going, doesn't help it. It feels like a rushed end to the series that turned out not to be the end but had a lasting impact nonetheless.

5>1=4>2>3
But that's just like, my opinion, man.
>>26752553
It's a reactionary meme because so many assholes scream that S4 and 5 are awful compared to 1 & 2 when in actuality the quality has remained rather consistent as a whole.
>>26753764
Holy fuck that's a shit opinion.
