Got stuck in a depression September last year, decided to rewatch old childhood cartoons like Johnny Bravo and Courage the Cowardly Dog on Netflix. Pone came up as a suggestion so I decided to see what's the hype about. Rewatched series twice and been shitposting here since then.

I've seen ponies popping up throughout 4chan around late 2010-2011 and always thought the pictures were super cute, but I never thought about watching my little fucking pony at that time. I remember even saving a few pony pics during that time.

Just a few days after /mlp/'s creating I thought for myself that the show couldn't be bad if moot created a whole board solely for this particular show. Then I downloaded the first season and the rest is history.

A friend of mine showed it to me before /mlp/ was created, back then the term "brony" wasn't associated with so much cringe inducing faggotry, at least not at the same degree, had fun torought the seasons, still hype from time to time even if I know everything is a hasjew lie.

It's a (kinda long story)

Back in 2010 I saw a Vg Cats comic featuring the CMC. Back then I had no idea there was a g4, so I had a brief chuckle at the few puns I could get and went my way

Then, one day, I met a friend of mine and his wife. Said wife is a huge Classic MLP fan, so I told her "hey, I saw a weird Vg Cats comic, featuring ponies"

Her reaction left me baffled: she turned to her husband all excited and told him "Seee??? I KNEW he would have liked it!"

"Liked what? Vg Cats? Girl, I'm the one who told you abo-"
"Noooo! Not that! MLP:FiM!"
"...mlpwhatnow?"

Long story short, she told me about the new show. I looked at her, raised an eyebrow and said "No chanche in hell I will EVER watch that"
"Wait and see..."

Fast forward to November 2011, when I decided to visit 4chan for the first time (newfag, I know). So, after a bit of lurking, I decided the board most suitable for me was /co/.

This, of course, led me to know about the MLP fandom. And like most /co/mrades, to fucking despise it (Back then, the top thread in /co/ was 95% of the times MLPG). So, I won't lie, I started trolling MLPG (it wasn't even hard: all you needed to do was post some unrelated shit, and the whole thread used to go apeshit about it).
Then feb 2012 came, and with it rumors about a /pony/ board. Many of us in /co/ were excited: hell, it meant getting rid of ponyfags for good.

"Don't get your hopes too high" said one ponyfag "Moot will NEVER create a pony board. We'll stay here FOREVER"

Two days later, /mlp/ was created.
I came here, bent on 'revenge' for all the awkward pony moments I was subjected to in the previous months.

...and, guess what, ended up staying.

4 years. I was orbiting around this fucking fandom for 4 years before finally crashing down into this seemingly dying sun.

I heard about during the season 1 hypetrain. And I'm not gonna lie, I was hating on it. Why would someone watch a show for little girls? Shit, I remember my sister getting some g2 MLP stuff when she was little, so how could this be different? And of course my typical image of a brony was this lout spergy fedora-wielding spaghettimancer, because those were the loudest ones always.

And yet I became curious. I would watch some random bideos. Just for the luls, since there is no way I would actually join the fandom or anything. When this https://youtu.be/sLd-hU3yDzc popped up in my sub box, I liked it and saved it. For the luls. Every now and then I would bump into some piece of content I liked, but it wasn't like I could enjoy the show. Hell, there is this amazing parody that I still love after 4 years, that would crack me up every time (can't post since it's not in English).

Fast forward to mid 2015. It turned out that one of the people on my university was an all out brony. Worst of all he is a Ponka fag, but that's besides the point. I was like "man, what's this guy's problem exactly?"

Soon it changed to "man, what's my problem exactly?"

I downloaded first 4 seasons. And didn't watch them. The idea was just sacrilegious in a way. And for no good reason either. Took me 3 months and a plunge into a depressed state to break the barrier.

My only regret?

Waiting 4 years.

I think I was on Funnyjunk back then, I saw a post about MLP and thought it was ironic or something. Some dude told me it wasn't and that it was actually a rad show, so I gave it a shot.

I think that was just before season 2 started.

I was lurking /b/ around the middle of season 2, found the /b/read, started to troll, evening was good. Then, it happened. Some faggot bet me two gigs of BDSM porn that I wouldn't watch the first season. The rest is history

Saw a bunch of random clips from the show on YouTube (kyrospawn) and saw that they had views in the tens or even hundreds of thousands. Was wondering what phenomenon this was, so after watching a few I googled "why are there so many my little pony vidoes on youtube" and found out about its popularity. Started seeing pony avatars, looked into it, eventually watched this video:

Shared video with friends, they laughed too. I realized this show was on the Hub, which I remembered seeing previews for back in10-10-10 not long after my family upgraded our Dish package. So at 5:00 in the morning I went to watch TV, saw it was on, and decided to give it a watch. It was during the We Heart Ponies Fan Favorite Mare-a-Thon, and the episode was Lesson Zero. Enjoyed crazy Twilight, curiosity peaked, decided to watch the series from the beginning (which was easy since episodes were up on YouTube in spades). Liked it enough to keep watching, also enjoying the somewhat taboo secrecy of it.

I don't know. 2011 was when I got into anime, so that's probably how pony showed in the Related Videos sidebar on YouTube. I guess after watching anime, particularly Cardcaptor Sakura, I wasn't afraid to try new cartoons that might be for kids. I liked Spongebob and PPG and stuff, so why not.

I think ponies is how I found out about 4chan.

I watched a couple of episodes back when it was allowed in /co/ then a few years later I saw a sexy humanized pic and decided to drop by /mlp/ hoping for a quick fap.

I saw a few writing threads and jacked off to a bunch of clopfics and so began my descent down the slippery slope of anatomically correct stories. As time passed I began to appreciate the setting and even wrote a story or two.

I'd heard about it, and after seeing all the cringe worthy advertisements, I didn't want to like it. But then I found a TF2 Fanfic (Waking Nightmares) of MLP, and got way too into reading it. So I decided hey, why not watch it? It could be better than I thought.

Then I liked the show.

I found out about the show/fans through some of the later videos in the "This Troper" video series back in early/mid 2011 a friend had showen me. When I asked my group of friends what the fuck a brony was, they laughed and told me about how retarded the group was. I dismissed it after doing a little bit of research on google. Was always on the fringe of the internet culture pre mlp. Fast-forward a month to me laying down to go to bed super early in the morning (about 7). I'd usually watch whatever shitty cartoon was on cartoon network till I fell asleep. While I was looking at the cable TV guide, I saw My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic coming up on Hub. I decided to stay up a little bit longer and see what could draw in a decent amount of people. Like everyone else, I was expecting tea parties and everything to be overly saturated in pink. I got the complete opposite with fall weather friends. Finding it ok, I stayed up for the next episode which happened to be Suited for Success. I was hooked by the song and the plot of drowning in trying to keep your friends happy and it really connected with me. I immediatly went to download all that was out while I was asleep. Found out that it was a few weeks from season 2 premier. Ended up watching all of it in 2 sittings and delving head first into fanfiction and the fandom in general, reading all the big ones out at that point. Took a look at mlpg and thought it was too fast for me and found ponychan. Didn't use a trip and understood the reason for not doing it. As soon as /mlp/ was made, I was here. Don't post much and try to use my brain when actually posting. I think I can count on 2 hands the number of times I've shitposted/trolled in the last 4 years.

A bunch of fags at my school would harass people that didn't watch it. Yes, they would badger people for not jacking it to colorful ponies. One of them brought in one of the official Hasbro pony toys with brush-able hair (the toys that look like they have an excess chromosome), and spent fifteen minutes caressing it and meticulously straightening its locks, while in plain sight of everyone. Then again, the school was liberal as fuck, so it wasn't an unexpected occurrence. Naturally, I decided to see what the big fuss was about, for not even weaboos were THAT autistic.

I'm here for the autism and bright colors. When I read about how much you all want to plunge balls-deep into the rectum of a fictional underage multicolored non-human character from another dimension and impregnate it with your interspecies horrendously deformed spawn, I shit myself.
