You misunderstand. I have been on /mlp/ since it was created and on other parts of 4chan prior to that. Six months is only the amount of time since I started specifically watching for video game threads. And given how many I've seen in that time and how long they typically last, the fact that you have apparently never seen such a thread before last week suggests that you haven't been here very long.

I'm know a good amount of c++, and I've considered doing a game I. The past.

The main problem is that I'm still learning and don't want to waste time doing a trivial task that takes ages when there could be an easy solution I haven't learned of yet.

If you don't want to waste time with trivial stuff, then your main concern should be what game engine you are going to use.
Unity and Unreal are the most commons. Unity is simpler to use, but Unreal have better graphics and is in C++ (Unity use C#).

I'm think I'll use unreal. The main problem, however, is that there exists no good assets for a game focused around mlp, and I'm thinking I'll have to create my own rigs and assets for a good game
