Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom's marks are both perfect for them and nothing would have been better. A heart in an Apple fits her better and does her more justice than a simple hammer/potion ever could. You'd have to think very little of the characters to want simple "talents" like that instead of what they ended up getting. Having symbols that fit and represent them like this along with the outer mark representing their bond and preventing what was feared in Bloom and Gloom is perfect.

The colors are terrible, though.
