Hey /plush/, I have a question. I need/want to wash my plushies, they're all Chinese knockoffs (pic related), they're not dirty, they just smell slightly bad (I got them like 4-5 months ago). There is a guide in the OP to clean the plushies, but that's for minky fabric. Question is, is it the same procedure for these plushies? Can I just throw them in the washer and get over with this? I tried google, but it's not specific enough for me to trust it. Any help?

The ones I have have are pretty strong, and are just about perfect for this, I got them at lowes for about 8 dollars for all of them. They're sold as just plain magnets so I wrapped them in painters tape to keep the filings from getting on the fabric. Worth every penny

Washing them is super easy providing you have a spin dryer. Me and Rarity had a shower together, I got her all clean will soapy water and a good warm rinse.

After that, I put her inside a pillowcase in a spin dryer to get most of the water out of her fur (make sure the dryer isn't heated), then kept her in a warm room to finish.

Now she smells lovely and is as soft as ever.

Like yours the minky insert is way too tight but it's gotten a lot better since the stuffing has finally settled. Oddly the only way I could even use it before was to use a condom. Something about the smoothness of the latex or something. The insert doesn't move around at all because it's held in place with three snap buttons. Although on my Rainbow I am planning on using an invisible zipper and then making an entirely separate minky insert with the anatomical bits attached for aesthetics.

I do this too. Had Rainbow under an arm during new years waiting for midnight.

I feel like my applique is never going to look as good as I want it to. This is still the best I've done so far but there's weird sharp angles all over the broad curves and I can't quite get them to go away. The extra colors on the iris is kind of funky too. Used fabric for one and then a "embroider" for the other color since I couldn't find fabric in the right color.

Other than that there might be entire days where i don't take time to just lay down with one for snuggles. I tend to use smaller plushies for constant petting or nuzzles and kisses since they are so much less to worry about and are readily available.

they are very handy
but the top bows (which makes the top drawer harder to use) if there is too much weight on it, so I'd use a piece of wood or something as sturdy
I have a couple of desktop sized ones for my pins, needles and threads
another option would be to use plastic totes

because I have cats, I also put the fabric in plastic bags

Finally got the invisible zipper put on Rainbow. Wasn't entirely sure how to go about the pul fabric. If it should've been attached on the minky side or the zipper side. Eventually decided on zipper side so that as much fabric is covered by waterproof as possible. I should've used pink thread but in the end it's on the inside and won't really matter. I wish I had a mary to test fit the sizing though. I share the sewing room with my dad since he has his laptop in there so it's kinda awkward finding time since the pink and zipper are something I don't want to answer a question about.

I stuffed this about as tight as I could get it. It seems like the joints on the back legs and where the front legs meet the body have a problem with getting dense stuffing and that's the point where the plush really want to bend. Hopefully this time she will stand a lot better than Octavia though. The triple stitch really helps a lot with not being paranoid about ripping a stitch. I'm going to need to buy more stuffing...
