Couple of reasons honestly.

1. I have been exposed to a lot in my years of life, call it "Toxic Culture/Knowledge Radiation" that I've overdosed in. Imagine, staring at the worst of humanity every single day, the rapists, the murderers, the tyrants, the molesters, and truly the damned among damned, at the same time see the murdered, the raped, the oppressed the molested, and those sinned against, all of this on a daily basis. Now imagine not only seeing the present, but also the past, making a count of how much suffering there was caused, and received in the half million years my species have been around. Think of reasons why those who sinned did what they did, and put it into realistic scope. It's honestly heartbreaking, its one of those pains that you probably will never be able to understand, but it is the pain of accounting and bearing witness to the collective soul of Humanity. Seeing the sins of Humanity, is a pain beyond personal pain, an experience that you wish you could tear out your eyeballs and blow your brains out. Its like walking through a kitten jail, knowing that each kitten will be put to death if you don't help, but there is no way you can adopt 8.6 billion kittens. And I go through that, on a daily basis.

Second reason. The aforementioned sufferage comes from my faith system that I am deeply religious in. It is in my belief the flesh is a house for a conscious soul and that conscious aether is my true self. I also believe that all conscious things have this shared part to them, along with a common Origin. As my belief states, "To be closer with Origin, you must be closer with all." is why I see the stuff listed above, but in my faith, there is a longing, a panting to return from where you came. In a weird way, it's a faith of Death, at least of the temporary flesh. I would love to return to Origin, however, there is still much to be done in this world. When it's my time though, I won't fight.
