The waters get a little muddled when dealing with comic canon. Does it work? I'm the same anon. The dropbox has a README file with a brief description on how to use the files. Also I believe war thunder can read DDS files, as it seems to work on mine. Unless the problem you're having is that you can't open the file for image editing? DDS is a paint.net filetype, so you might not be able to open it.

I will say that dropbox only allows you to download individual files for some reason, so just drop them in the structure shown in the dropbox

Looks too be working well enough as a good luck charm. Wing got hit really badly after a head on fight with a 109. The 109 went down, probably got the pilot, but my Spitfire was tossed into a steep dive that I just barely managed to pull out of.
