For example, I don't have to know all the various aspects of furries to know they're faggots. Because I only need to know that one thing: they're faggots.

Similarly, the average person only needs to know "Bronies like ponies" in order to make their judgments. Demanding that someone study your fandom before they make a judgment, while not entirely unreasonable, is never going to happen.

When someone says things like "Don't call me a trekkie - I'm a trekker! Saying otherwise makes you look stupid," in fact it only makes that person look even MORE like a spergy dipshit, not less.
