It doesn't look like Starlight went back in time at all. Kind of. It's not Time Travel per say, it's more working off the principle of when you change an event in the past and the ripple catches up to the future, but it comes in waves and those waves are farther apart each time. That's why things like Twilight still having her Wings, the Castle and the Map still existing, Mane 6 even having their Cutie Marks.

As the episode goes along, more and more things will change as the ripples catch up to the present and obviously, the final changes will be related to Twilight herself and if the Map were to disappear, then the changes would be permanent, since the Map was the catalyst for the change.
