Emerald says he wants a manly disguise.

"A manly disguise? Really? You?" Joyride says, honest surprise in her face.

In response Emerald glares and puffs out his cheeks. What's wrong with wanting a manly disguise?

"Hmm, well... I'm not sure what I could do to help you there." Joyride says chewing on her salad.

Emerald leans back and watches the dishes washing themselves in the kitchen for a few moments. A mustache would be manly, but that would just attract more attention. Spitballing, he asks if he could get a potion to increase his muscle mass.

"Nah, that wouldn't be feasible. You'd need to take the potion constantly to keep up the effect, like every few hours, and I wouldn't feel good about doing that. You'd almost certainly get potion sickness."

Emerald just recently learned what potion sickness is from his studies. It's from a build up of magic and alchemical ingredients that can cause serious problems in your body.

Emerald leans on his hooves. He is out of ideas.

Emerald just throws up his hooves and decides to go girly then. He supposes it doesn't matter what he looks like as long as he doesn't get kidnapped again.

"See? Doesn't it feel good to just say you are a little pervert who wants to wear women's clothing? So, shall we go dress shopping, or was there a different kind of girly clothing you wanted?" Joyride says, smirking.

What does Emerald do?

Emerald is a little wary, but decides to hit a dress shop just to check.

Joyride and Emerald make their way to the fountain area and look around for a dress shop, and find one quickly almost directly next to the fountain.

Upon entering Emerald must admit that it's not as girly as he thought it was going to be. It's just rows and rows of dresses on racks, with a few choice ones displayed on dummies.

The shopkeep approaches and says, "Hello darlings, how can I help you today?"

"Just a simple dress I'm guessing. We can start there and maybe go up if we are feeling it." Joyride says before Emerald can say anything.

The shopkeep directs the pair to four dummies near the back.

Emerald asks if the shopkeep has anything that would go with his hat.

"Well, it's funny you should ask!" The shopkeep says dashing dramatically across the room and dragging Emerald with her, "I call this one the 'Arrow Flynn'! What do you think?"

Emerald loves it, and purchases it immediately for 70 bits and puts it on.

After Emerald gets the leggings buttoned together Joyride pulls him close and says, "Heyyy lil' perv. How about we get one more dress while we are here for you."

Emerald asks if she is going to get him something perverted.

"Of course not! Well, unless you want something like that. I was thinking a party dress, a big, fancy, frilly one. I'll even purchase it myself. It is a special occasion after all... I found some Love Hibiscus that I can get for free. We just need to go to a party tonight to get it. What do you say?" Joyride says, smiling broadly.

Emerald says he'll get the dress. He wants to help her get the Love Hibiscus, and if that's what he needs to do why not?

Emerald comments that she just wants to see him in a frilly dress.

"Well yeah, but I wasn't trying to hide that or anything." Joyride says somehow smiling even bigger.

Joyride pushes Emerald into a changing room and makes him try on a bunch of party dresses before deciding on one that comes with a very pointy crown.

Suddenly Emerald remembers that he was supposed to meet up with Hope tonight, and tells Joyride.

"Well hey, you can just go after the party. It shouldn't take all night. Probably, I dunno." Joyride says, tilting her head and scanning the way the colt looks in the dress.

>>
>>25498128
I'm not feeling the waifu approach, but I'd be down for another paid servicing.

That and we can probably recruit her for any nearby adventures we might plan. She would make a fun party member.
>>
>>25498126

I actually think Joyride is a succubus and that her previous partners were her "familiars" or perhaps "acolytes" that she used over time. She's so old because she uses sexual energy of others to keep alive. It also explains her vast ability to pimp out fillies and colts and her network of royal patrons, and her keys that access any door anywhere.

The reason we cannot satisfy her is because she is beyond satisfying. She oozes sex and perversion, from vanilla to obscene, because it's like air to her. At this point I doubt she even has a moral compas, good or evil. Not because she's a bad pony per-se, but because she relies on sex for entertainment and as an outlet for herself and at this point is willing to do whatever.

Hence her name. It's quite obvious that "Joyride" is to be taken quite literally.

Now I'm not saying she cannot form emotional attachments. But she has been through so many partners that at best, she has grown cold to the ideas of actual intimacy and at worst only creates emotional attachments that mirror a dog's fascination for its favorite toy, or how someone might look at a favorite car. She might take care of it, and keep it "safe" to an extent, but at the end of the day, it is still her toy to play with, or her car to tweak and customize however she desires.

Which is why I be live Emerald is setting himself up for some long term issues when getting too invested with Joy. Interesting and compelling story issues, but issues nonetheless.
>>
>>25498187

Also I agree that we should go see hope FIRST, then the party.

>>
>>25497996

(Last for the night.)

Emerald says he wants to see Hope before the party.

"Or you could see her at the party. I'm sure she'll be there. Maybe. A lot of the bigwigs and hotshots like her will be there." Joyride remarks, fluffing Emerald's hair.

Emerald is surprised but happy he might see her. Is Hope really that important though?

"Whether she likes it or not, she is from an important family and is well connected. I have no doubt she is under lot's of pressure to attend, considering what the party is about." Joyride says, tugging at one of the colt's dress sleeves to straighten it.

Emerald asks what the party is about.

"A fundraiser for Ponycare. It's being thrown by Marquess Chaser at his mansion up near the castle." Joyride says, then straightens the crown she made lean by fluffing his hair.

Emerald nods with a small frown. He's concerned he might be recognized.

"Maybe? I don't know. We can just make up a story. You can be my cousin or the like. I guess we could do more. Did you say you wanted a mane cut or something? We should probably get some make-up on you too. Hmm..." Joyride says, finally stepping back and looking Emerald over again.

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>25498585
That party is a bad idea. We should stay home and read books.
>>
>>25498568
The problem is that she could always out-resource Emerald. Emerald has his own priorities and not all of them seem to line up with Joy.

I'd like to point out that we have already gotten the ring off so why even continue to pimp ourselves at all? I get the feeling that Joy is going to be like working with the mob. Over time, she will find new ways for Emerald to be indebted to her, and therefore find new ways to manipulate Emerald for her own purposes.
>>
>>25498585
Going to the party is staring to feel riskier and riskier. Also, I find it suspicious that Hope never mentioned that she'd be there. Hel, if there is so much time before the party, then we would have more than enough time to see Hope in private where she's staying, and perhaps even enlist her help in looking more feminine to blend in better.

At this point, Joy fees more manipulative than helpful. What can she offer us no that we are free? She's never really expressed interested in helping us get vengeance against our wicked family for torturing us like this.
>>
>>25498606
Part of the reason we pimped ourselves out at all was to get money. If we want to stop we can just tell her. As of right now she's splitting the whoring bits with us and we've promised her semen. As soon as she starts claiming we owe her as a reason to do things when we never agreed to that it's time to cut our losses.

Really, you're preemptively worrying. There is a point where things will eventually come to a head, until then passing up the opportunity to learn as much as possible and make connections would be fool-hardy.
>>
>>25497605
Sounds like Emerald is just trading one abuser for another these days.
>>
>>25498585
We did intend to have a mane cut and a dye job to complete our disguise.
>>
>>25498585
Dye hair and coat to make us look like Joy's child.
>>
>>25498647
We prefer our integrity ad our freedom in general, which is why it is so important that Emerald is aware before being led into any trap, or being molded into a sort of slave.

Also, why are we not asking her what Love Hibiscus is?
>>
>>25498670
Anyone ho knows Joy would probably be suspicious as fuck if she suddenly had a kid. She doesn't strike me as the child rearing type, and frankly, I'm happy that she never reproduced after all these years of being alive. She'd be a terrible mother.
>>
>>25498677
If Joy wanted to sell us out she easily could have done so by now; if she's got any ill will towards us it's probably a long term game. Honestly, I think she's just manipulative, which isn't the worst thing right now.

Also, love hibiscus is one of the ingredients in her super sex potion she wants to make.

Going to the Marquess' gala is such a bad plan. Someone is bound to realize that we are a colt at some point, especially due to our voice.
>>
>>25498703
Why do you think she wants to make a super sex potion though? Certainly not for her benefit.

Also I cannot believe that you'd tolerate being around a manipulative bitch like that. It reeks of disingenuous feelings, and means that Emerald is investing himself in her care and in his own emotions all for naught.

Also, that brings up another interesting point Did Joy lie about a muscle potion just so she could make us look like a trap? Shame she is only supportive when it benefits herself or her own fetishes at the time.

Please. Joy plays everything for the long-game. She's been around for ages. Don't you think she's able to plan for longer than an "instant reward" mentality?

That's why she'll just use Emerald until she gets what she really wants from him.

Every thread has been salty, senpai. Lots of controversial decisions and topics.

From Emerald's sexuality, to how he should dress, to who he should have sex with, to railroading accusations towards the OP, all threads had a fair bit of salt. Hell, those were the just the major issues that I noticed people fighting about. People were bitching about everything. Did you expect anything different?

While I think it's wise to be somewhat weary of Joyride, I don't think she's looking to harm us either.

She's ALWAYS in it for herself. What the fuck will she be like after she has her orgasm? Still manipulative, and now just hungry for the next one.

Maybe Joy would benefit from the female version of our ring: a fucking chastity belt. Some sexual denial for a couple years (or dozens, if she' s a succubus) should find her in a far greater mood for a rapid "climax".

Sex isn't inherently a personal/meaningful thing for him, he'll fuck who or what he needs to fuck.
Traps might as well trap, though I hate floofy dresses on principle, male or female.
Whoever he needs to fuck. And Hope.
So far there's been no railroading that wasn't done properly, IE through the environment instead of ignoring decisions. We also haven't gone hard enough against the tracks to see if he'll compensate.

My primary goal is impregnating Hope, secondary is getting enough skills and contacts that Emerald isn't as painfully useless as he is now.
As for the Joyride situation, we're using her as much as she's using us. While she is in the position of power, you can bet your ass that she recognizes that we'll run if she pushes too hard. Emerald seems to like her, but he's not invested in her like he is with Hope.

I don't know where you're getting this from, to be honest. Emerald is pretty much willing to go along with whatever Joy says, mostly. Notice also how he never vets what Joy says, or questions her flimsy retorts to his perfectly valid concerns. I'm pretty positive Joy isn't getting nearly as bad of a deal as Emerald is out of this arrangement. Why would she?

Also, how is Emerald even invested with Hope? She might not even like Emerald in a sexual sense anymore. She seemed pretty guilty and platonic at the bar.
>>
>>25498934
We can see her before the party. Ever wonder why she didn't mention it? Probably because she wasn't interested in going. She's clearly going to be at home at this time.

Why not just make a beeline for the house and ask her herself?

Can't we even sen her a dragonfire letter? Surely Joy has that capability.
>>
>>25498949
>Also, how is Emerald even invested with Hope? She might not even like Emerald in a sexual sense anymore. She seemed pretty guilty and platonic at the bar.
That doesn't say anything about how invested Emerald is in Hope. That says something about Hope's investment in Emerald, which is probably low.

Neither one of them are getting a bad deal out of this arrangement so far. And there's no indication that either will in the future.

>That doesn't say anything about how invested Emerald is in Hope. That says something about Hope's investment in Emerald, which is probably low.

That's what I'm saying. I bet that Emerald won't even be able to win Hope's affections. It's actually sad, but I think that Hope might have lost interest in Emerald awhile ago. If we'd chosen to travel with her instead of Joy, that might not have been the case, as we could have shown her more about ourselves and how w could be mature.

Joy obviously just wants Emerald to get slutted up for her own kicks.

>And there's no indication that either will in the future.

With all due respect, I'm absolutely fascinated that you are so willing to trust Joy when she's done nothing but take Emerald into seedy scenario after seedy scenario. Add that into the QM already claiming that Emerald's route will be filled with the most suffering and disappointment, and you have a fair tell imo about how the quest is going to play out unless the players (us) selected clearly good choices for Emerald from the get-go.

And you misunderstand my position on Joyride entirely. Given your replies so far, I doubt the nuance of what I'm saying will get across, so I'll leave that portion of the conversation right there.

>It's actually sad, but I think that Hope might have lost interest in Emerald awhile ago.
Doubtful, you're pushing it farther than I was meaning to imply. Think about it more in character. Hope obviously cares somewhat about the little colt she saved. And if he just up and vanished she'd probably be worried. But that doesn't mean she'd be heartbroken over it.

If Hope suddenly turned Emerald in, he'd be heartbroken if his actions and desires so far are any indication.

It's more about different levels of investment than none at all on either side. Emerald is significantly more invested in Hope than she is in him. Which doesn't mean she isn't at all (she is, the story pretty much shows she cares), nor does it mean we can't convince the coltfucker to fuck a colt. Or get more invested by bonding with her more.
>>

This really encapsulates what's wrong with you. You are that guy that doesn't realize the fun of an adventure is trying interesting things, getting into sticky situations and having to figure a way out of them. Winning isn't the object.

I'd actually be interested in hearing more detailed opinions about where others want this story to go, rather than just bickering about the topic at hand and past events.

Stuff like Emerald's long-term goals, his sexual interests (not about hetero or homo, but who he might be interested in seeing in a more romantic light), and how he wants to grow as a stallion (or not).

Then I think we could really all find some common ground to agree on, and then split hairs over the other little stuff as we please It would probably make things easier on the OP as well, since we'd have an established common interest for Emerald then.
>>
>>25499048
>>25499065
Yeah, desu you're turning more people against your position(s) by being so harsh and single minded about it. I'm fine with having a conversation, but not everything needs to be end of the world serious or written as such.

Always remember "Fuck that guy in particular" can be as strong a decision maker as anything else.
>>
>>25499088
>You are that guy that doesn't realize the fun of an adventure is trying interesting things, getting into sticky situations and having to figure a way out of them. Winning isn't the object.

I can see that. The old saying sometimes goes "no risk, no reward", yes?

To be fair, this also is I feel is wrong with your argument (because if refuse to say it is something "wrong with you"). It almost reads like the mentality of a still innocent child, or a backpacking ten through Europe who's never really been betrayed in any critical way that taught them to be more suspicious of the wiles of others. In fact, Joy, moreso than any other mare seems to justify that very level of distrust. Is she is truly so powerful, what on earth does she want with Emerald? Any colt would do. He's just the one that was silly enough to encourage her "interest" in him.
>>
>>25499118
>Always remember "Fuck that guy in particular" can be as strong a decision maker as anything else.

I don't understand this argument. Though I get everything else. I'm pretty sure that the position is tainted anyway (though I have multiple positions, so I'm not quite sure which ones we are talking about).
>>
>>25499108
The problem with that is that there's no real direction. The biggest driver for the story was some random comment on one of the first few threads that got a ton of support. And after we potentially impregnate Hope, that main focus will be gone.

The other long term goal proffered is Joyride's sexual potion but, and I can't speak for anyone else, I'm not terribly invested in it. It's a nice thing to do for Joyride, but it's not really story driving material.

Any long-term goal, for me, will probably be nailed in the ass by the story at this point because Emerald can't do anything on his own. He has no value in his person, except as the child of the Jewel family. Wherever he runs he's going to be reliant on others' generosity to help him. So my current goal is to build up some sort of skill so that if worse comes to worse, he can go somewhere and find a place to sell his skill. Get an apprenticeship or something. So it's harder to plan long term since it'll take a little while for him to build up his skills and by that time the environment will have completely shifted.
>>
>>25499180
The real endgame is getting revenge on our step-parents and reclaiming our birthright, isn't it?

You're right though, Emerald is pretty weak. Going along with others is a good thing for now since it gets us friendship and connections that can help us win in the end.
>>
>>25499157
That's just it, it's not an argument. It's petty. I dislike this guy enough so I'm going to vote against his position even if I agree with him.

How you conduct your argument really affects how strongly someone will support/oppose your position. If you conduct yourself well then even someone that disagrees with you won't fight as hard against it. Instead of a strongly stated command it'll be weaker, which, if you had that effect on enough people, can sway the decision. And if you conduct yourself in a negative way it can completely turn people against you only because they don't like you personally. In spite of what they think is the good or bad thing to do.

Tone matters if you want to get your decisions implemented more than you want to be 'right'.
>>
Joy seems like more and more bad news all the time.

>>
>>25499201

>>
>>25499201

>>25499201
I get the vibe that Emerald and his special "charisma" are suited to diplomatic/political solution by getting powerful friends to help us out.

Little miss Emerald making her debut in high society sounds like a perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling on that, with some help from our pervy mentor.
>>
>>25498585
We should go to the party. Hop is most definitly going to be there since she is both a noble and a member of the organization the party is for. We should either meet Hope during of after the party since if we met her before she might be to busy preparing and going with her might attract to much attention since she is a noble she might be the representative for the organization. Not going to the party might interfere with Joy's attempt to get the ingredient. We should trust Joy since it was our decision to go with her in the first place and to become her apprentice. She has helped us in the past and when we've done things for her it was always our choice.
>>
>>25499230
Hence why I want to stay with Joyride. It's not about trusting her at all, it's about using her while she's using us so that we can both get benefits. Until the relationship becomes too strained, if it does so.

And like I said, Joyride is most likely well aware that she has what amounts to a rabbit in her hooves. She'd have to be completely retarded to press to far too fast if we ever put up a resistance to something she wants. As soon as Emerald says no to something and she pushes it hard, Emerald's likely to just bolt.
>>
>>25499223
Lets make it a serious goal then. Joy has an incredible amount of connections we could start looking into. Heck, we have already: Sensoria is part of a crack military unit, and That one griffon chick was obviously well off screw her though

>Instead of a strongly stated command it'll be weaker, which, if you had that effect on enough people, can sway the decision.

Pretty much everyone who is above a certain age who has experience with debating is aware of this tactic. I'm certainly aware, and while it might work for some, I think it is passive-aggressive and disingenuous. I think it's obvious when someone is trying to subtly change opinions of others, using words like "we" and not "I", "us" and not "me", and when disagreeing, using the term "you" to label a singular person who is vocal about having the opposing point (which is obviously not true), and labeling the topic unpopular. The minds of lurkers and other posters who agree with the vocal individual will know that they agree with them, but not the sharpest opinions has been labels as a smaller group, and those who are indifferent will be willing to see them as such for the sake of progression.

>Tone matters if you want to get your decisions implemented more than you want to be 'right'.

I don't believe I've been exceptionally harsh, and certainly not crass or insulting. I just don't believe that the argument "everything will be OK, so why are you so down on 'xyz'?" is a good argument in the first place. I suppose that I'd rather be convincing and convinced via hard evidential points and how manipulative people react to others rather than resort to smoozing it up in order to see things through.

Guess it's just a philosophical thing.

>>
>>25499259
It's not about a singular position. It's about how you've conducted yourself for this thread and presumably the other threads.

I don't think the people labeling samefag and claiming majorityship are using an intentional tactic. It's a commonplace thing to do on 4chan because, you know, anonymous. The only thing you can really base it on is whether you think posts sound similar, which is too commonplace when arguments get heated. And if people think they're part of a group, they'll use 'we' and if they think you're alone, they'll say 'you'.

Accusations of samefag (not necessarily samefagging) are why IDs are a good thing on debate heavy boards.

I don't think it's intentional, but then, I tend to expect incompetence over malice.

>I suppose that I'd rather be convincing and convinced via hard evidential points and how manipulative people react to others rather than resort to smoozing it up in order to see things through.
Same. But that's not generally how it works when working with groups. Playing nicy-nice is simply more likely to get you what you want. It also has the side effect of just making a more enjoyable overall environment for most people.

I mean, at the end of the day you're free to use any tone you like, I'm just reminding you of the effects. Not everyone has the debater mentality.
>>
>>25499263
Rolling with Hope, even as a nobody, means we'll be targeted by people hoping to get closer to her. If she's a somebody and we're next to her it doesn't really matter who we are.

I disagree. Until it stops being mutually beneficial we don't owe her anything.
>>
>>25499306
Nobody pays attention to arm candy, Hope and Joy isn't proof that we're worth spit.

mutually beneficial is highly debatable. We've sold our body and soul to someone happy to drug us and use us as a resource. Alchemy won't help us if we're nothing but her puppet by the end of it. We already know she's bitter that her last apprentice left her.

Besides, I'm not seeing any actual long term benefit of alchemy to our revenge plot. What are we going to do, sneak in with an invisibility potion and cut throats? we can do that already.

I feel lie this is debatable depending on both the situation you're in and who you're talking to, but sure. It just makes me feel awful having to say false things about an opinion. It reminds me of that SJW poster that has someone posting as a middleman in a debate, with a "normie" mask on, but subtly plants ideas of doubt in the person's mind that he's conversing with. It's a BS tactic hat I dislike, and is far more obvious than even adults believe it to be. It just seems like we don't call one another out on it, and when someone does, then that person chastised by all parties because they broke the "immersion" effect for both sides.

I'm not really hearing a tone from most people here. Most seem like civilized posters. I don;t think we'd be having this discussion if I did not make a point at some time that you disagreed with.

Oh certainly. I find that's how it is for general group dynamics when interpretation is more of a factor than facts. You'd never see me try to point this out on /pol/ for example, it just doesn't apply to that kind of conversation. Nor for something like, say, discussion on whether a comic is good. They can't act against you in any way, so it simply doesn't matter.

It's not really about lying either, it's just toned down language. Instead of saying "This is this way" it's "This is most likely this way". It's the hard edges and lines that make people disgruntled.

>I'm not really hearing a tone from most people here.
Most debaters don't read into tone easily I've found. They've trained themselves to care only about what is being said instead of the tone. Which is good most of the time, but they do lose something in it.

> I don;t think we'd be having this discussion if I did not make a point at some time that you disagreed with.
I'll point out people's tones regardless of agreement or not if it seems like they're setting people against them unintentionally. I've done it before I'll do it again. I have the benefits of seeing from both sides for reasons unrelated to each other, so I like to be helpful to people that like to argue as well.

Emerald decides he wants to go see Hope first.

"Yeah, let's go show her the dress! I'll bet she'll get a kick out of it!"

Emerald decides he wants to go see Hope first... In the other outfit he bought. He quickly changes and then Joyride leads him to her apartment. It's much deeper in the city and in an even nicer neighborhood than Joyride's. While Coursewalk was clean this place is exquisite. To Emerald's eyes, everyone is dressed up to go to a party already, with many of the stallions wearing top hats and nice vests, while the mares sport long, frilly dresses much like the one he was wearing just a little while ago. There isn't a building or edifice that doesn't have some piece of master crafted stonework, and the grass and trees are both vibrant green and obviously trimmed and well cared for.

Joyride points up at a door and Emerald walks up a small set of stairs and knocks.

A donkey wearing a maid uniform answers. She has a feather duster in her mouth, and upon seeing Emerald removes it and asks, "Can I help you?"

Emerald asks if Hope is home.

"I'm afraid Mistress has returned to her family residence to get ready for a party she is attending later. Would you like to leave her a message?" The maid asks nicely.

What does Emerald do?

Emerald asks the maid to inform Hope that he had stopped by, and that he'll be at the party too. He then bids her a farewell and goes back to Joyride, who is standing near the sidewalk.

"No dice, eh?"

Emerald nods and they begin to walk back towards #304 Coursewalk.

"So you still had stuff you wanted to do as a disguise right?"

Emerald agrees. He says maybe a dye job and... Perhaps something with his mane.

"Well I have potions that can do that kind of stuff temporarily. What color were you thinking? What kind of mane? Long or short? You gotta be more specific." Joyride says, and then thinking on it continues, "Magic is all about specifics, so you better get used to it."

Emerald thinks for a second on what he wants done.

Emerald asks Joyride to turn him blue and to grow out his mane. Additionally, it'd be best if he could be called something else, and thinking about it for only a split second, he decides on the name "Sapphire".

"Ah, is that going to be your stage name? Well, best get started early I guess, I can teach you some pole dancing if you like." Joyride says, and then seeing that Emerald seemingly doesn't get the joke continues, "Well, I can make a potion to make your hair grow and to turn your fur blue. No more potions for a while after that though. Like I said, potion sickness and all."

Emerald and Joyride return to #304 Coursewalk and Joyride pulls out a long, pointed key and puts it in the lock. When the door opens all Emerald can see are various cabinets haphazardly stacked and stuffed into every corner of the room. Joyride walks in and immediately walks to an old chest of drawers near the back and pulls out a potion, and then turns slightly and opens a chest on the ground and retrieves another. He pushes them into Emerald's hooves and tells him to drink.

He complies, and the effects are instant. His mane and fur turn a deep and light blue respectively, and mane hair sprouts from his head so suddenly it pops his hat off.

"Okay, that should do for your 'disguise'. The mane dye should last about a day, but the length is permanent. We still have some time before we have to start getting ready for the party. Anything you wanted to do? I was thinking of just being lazy myself. Maybe make a sandwich and read a raunchy novel." Joyride says, suddenly burping.

We definitely need to go find a gift for Hope. We might have hurt her feelings ditching her for Sensoria (worth it to get the ring off.). Surprising her with a gift at this party is the perfect way to make it up to her.

Plus we'll get to dance with her there hopefully.
>>
>>25513151
I dunno about this party thing. If she's really as well to do as Joyride says then she won't be able to be seen in public with us.
We still could give her the gift, but we probably won't get to speak to her much.

Emerlad scoops up his hat and then asks Joyride when she is going to get ready for the party, and asks if he can help. Maybe he can get some revenge.

"Not for a while, and I don't need much help. I've been to enough fancy parties just knowing Hope alone that I've become an expert at this."

Emerald's mind wanders to what Hope might look like dressed up, and suddenly has the urge to get her a present. Emerald asks Joyride what a good present for Hope would be.

"Heh, trying to win some favor are you? Well, Hope isn't really a material objects kind of person, and even if she was she could probably buy whatever it is she wants herself. Just put some thought into whatever you want to give her and I'm sure she'll like it." Joyride says, already slipping a key out and putting it into the door, "Now don't bug me, I'm going to veg out for a little bit. I'll come get you when we need to start getting ready."

What does Emerald do?
>>
>>25515488
I think a good gift idea would be to enchant something ourselves and give it to her. That way we can show her what we've been learning.

Another idea would be a poem or something else written. Emerald reads a lot, I'm sure he's a good writer.

Of course, we could always do both.

A poem does seem to speak to our strengths.
Something that tells her how she was the first friend we ever had, and maybe subtly hinting how much she means to us.

Don't know what we could enchant for her, but it would be nice.
Maybe we can find something in town to buy her, something with a flower-theme to go with her last name, "Blossom".

Emerald decides to go looking for some enchantment or easy potion he could give to Hope to show her how much he has learned a about magic.

He goes to the library and scours the easier alchemy or enchantment books. Just from a cursory scanning of enchantments though he can tell that it will be no good. They require a lot of time, preparation, and skill to do.

He instead focuses on an easy potion, and finds one that might fit the bill. It's a "mini-starlight" potion. All it needs is powdered metal, glowing fungus, and honey.

He needs to hit an apothecary for that stuff. but maybe he could keep looking for a different kind of potion.

What does Emerald do?
>>
That starlight potion could work. Especially if the poem we include with it includes a line about how she "lights up our life".

Emerald packs up his things and starts to walk towards the apothecary. He opens the door with confidence and strides outside.

The colt feels much safer walking around with his new disguise. And whether it's because it's working or not, he does feel that there are a lot less eyes on him. Emerald returns to the fountain once again asks a street vendor where the nearest apothecary is. He is pointed down a street and comes across a shop named "Antimony's Apothecary" and enters.

The smell hits him immediately, even before the shopkeeps vibrant greeting. It's not an unpleasant smell, but it's one so full that it overloads the senses. While it isn't anything compared to Joyride's alchemy room he must admit it's probably just as cluttered. Bags and jars full of reagents line the shelves all the way to the ceiling and in some cases to the barrels on the floor.

A robed, bespectacled shopkeeper sits smiling at the counter, and Emerald approaches, asking for powdered metal, glowing fungus, and honey.

"Ah, a mini-starlight potion huh?" The shopkeeper says happily, scooping and weighing out ingredients, "That's certainly a fun potion! What's this for, a school project? Perhaps a Magical science fair?"

"My glasses." She says, tapping them, "I'm always on the look-out for thieves. It just so happens that my glasses let me see... Other things as well. But don't worry, you are very convincing otherwise."

For some reason, this makes Emerald blush in the face slightly, and he finally manages to yank the bag out of the mare's hooves. He says that he is on the move a lot so it's unlikely a newsletter will reach him.

"Alright then! Thank you for-" The shopkeep starts, but Emerald is already out the door before she can finish.

Whew, that was close. Or maybe it wasn't. She obviously didn't know who he was, but the shopkeep was asking a lot of questions... Worried, Emerald heads back to #304 Coursewalk and heads into the studio. He takes all the ingredients out, and finding a large pot begins the process of making the potion.

Following the instructions in the book, he powders the glowing fungus and heats it with a small amount of water and the honey. When it congeals into a soft lump he adds the powdered metal and... Oh!

Emerald grimaces... He forgot he needs a magically infused stirring rod like the one Joyride had in her alchemy room to complete the process. He bites his lip. Where is he going to get something like that?

Emerald decides he needs to head back to the shop, or perhaps Joyride to borrow one. However as he thinks this the potion starts to smoke heavily sputter, and in his panic Emerald sticks the only magical thing he has on him, his amulet, into the potion and stirs.

After a moment a soft glow starts to emit from the mixture, and removing his amulet from it the colt looks down and sees something that looks like the night sky.

He did it... Somehow! Well, Emerald is too thankful at the moment to think about it much.

Instead, Emerald finds some containers in the kitchen, and after filling a small vial and stoppering it he pours the rest of the glittering starlight into a big glass jug and screws the top on.

Emerald decides to go back to the apothecary and ask about getting stirring rods, and ask about the ramifications of using his amulet as one.

As he enters he sees the shopkeeper smile at him and say, "Oh! Back already? Did you need more ingredients or perhaps change your mind about the newsletter?"

Emerald asks how much stirring rods are for alchemy potions.

"Ah, well the rods are quite cheap, but the infusion can be quite costly depending on what you want to use. Dragon blood lasts the longest but is the most expensive, down to magic slime puree, which will last you a few potions at most. We even got rodbugs, but they are single use."

They discuss prices, and it turns out even a single stickbug is quite expensive at 15 bits. Maybe Emerald can just borrow Joyride's whenever he needs one...

Moving on, Emerald asks if there is any detrimental effects to using a magic item as a potion stirrer, since that's what he did for his potion.

The shopkeeper raises an eyebrow and then says, "Perhaps, let's see the amulet."

Emerald takes it out and shows it to the shopkeep. She pulls it up to her eyes and stares at it for a second.

"Hmm... It does seem a bit tarnished. One sec, let me grab something to help you with that."

The shopkeeper then disappears through the door into the backroom. Emerald taps his hooves, waiting, and begins to look around the store. Minutes pass, and she still hasn't come back.

What does Emerald do?

Emerald is tired of waiting. He decides to check on the shopkeeper. He makes his way to the door and opens it a crack and peers inside. It leads into a large backroom, but even from the crack he can tell the shopkeeper isn't there.

This seems bad. Emerald's first instinct is to run, but he cools his head a bit, and looking around takes what he assumes is a rodbug. It's a large silver bug in the shape of a spoon. He then runs out the door and hides around the corner behind some barrels.

After a few more minutes the shopkeep returns, but flanked on two sides by guards. They enter the store, her through the back and them through the front.

Emerald rushes back to #304 Coursewalk. he pounds on the door. He isn't sure how to get in touch with Joyride from this side, but knocking is the best he can think of.

Luckily Joyride answers the door.

"Yeah? What is it lil' perv? I'm busy."

Emerald says how he was almost caught again, tearing up as he does so.

"Whoa whoa, calm down. Jeez, okay, come in and start from the beginning."

Emerald tells the story of making the potion, and when he mentions which apothecary he went to Joyride interrupts him with a snort and says, "Well there was your first problem. The government here is really antsy about alchemy. It's technically legal, but if you want to do any sort of business without people butting their noses in it you have to find some of the... More hidden dealers. I'll introduce you to some next time."

Emerald nods, and continues about how he made the potion by using the amulet as a stirring rod. When he mentions this Joyride interrupts him again.

"Wait what? Your necklace worked?"

Emerald, confused, asks what is wrong with that. It's magical right so it should work!

"No, it really shouldn't have. Being infused with magical energy is different from using something that is enchanted. With enchantments all the energy is being used to maintain the enchantment. With an infused item there is an excess of energy that can be used to bind and enhance alchemical ingredients." Joyride says, holding her hoof out, "Let me see that pendant again."

Emerald hands the pendant over, and she almost shoves it right into her eye with how close she brings it to her face.

"Hmm... Maybe a demon? But I'd be able to tell..." Joyride says to the room at large.

Emerald waits, but she seems absorbed in the amulet. What does Emerald do?

(Last for the night.)

Emerald waits patiently for Joyride to finish. She stares for a really long time at the amulet, and then suddenly says, "Hey, anyone in there?"

Emerald, shocked by the noise, looks to Joyride, who is still staring at the amulet.

Joyride repeats these words two or three times, and then she turns to Emerald and says, "Okay, follow me lil' perv."

They step outside, and Joyride flicks through her keys again, and opens up the door to the fire room.

She snatches the amulet from around Emerald's neck and holds it up high.

"You see this, amulet? This is daemon fire. Answer me or I'm tossing you in."

Emerald scrambles at Joyride, trying to snatch the amulet back, but Joyride holds him at arms length. He cries how it's the only thing he has left from his mother and she can't toss it in, she just can't!

Joyride ignores this, and after a few more moments hurls the amulet into the fire.

Emerald has a fleeting urge to toss himself after it, but just hangs by the door and breaks into sobs.

Joyride lifts Emerald and pulls the front of his clothes down, and Emerald is relieved to see that the amulet is back where it should be.

"Damn it." Joyride says, rubbing her eyes, "Emerald... I have some questions for you."

Emerald, thoroughly confused and a bit shocked by this emotional roller coaster just nods dumbly and wipes his eyes and nose.

"How do I describe this... Have you had the feeling that you aren't in control of your actions? Like, has there been a voice, or maybe a powerful unwanted urge to do things that may be against your wishes?"

Emerald is a bit shocked by this question, and isn't sure how to answer.

This was a joke, don't take this seriously GM
>>
>>25523259
Am I the only one that's completely horrified by this revelation?

I assumed that Emerald was in control of his own actions. Sure, we control him, but we don't exist within the story. We were just a narrative device. We weren't an actual entity that exists within the quests canon.

Normally, we players effectively are the character we control, in the sense that we were roleplaying as him. Now, we're not Emerald at all, but instead some other beings that are controlling him from within the amulet. We thought our link to Emerald was purely meta, but now it turns out we actually do control him as part of the established canon.

This might seem like an insignificant difference, but this is actually a huge deal. We're not just co-authors of the story, we're now character within it. We are some malevolent being that actually exists in their universe.

And we are violating Emerald's free will. What the fuck.
Do you guys have any idea how unethical it is to mind control a child into having sex? Emerald can't truly consent to anything as long as we're manipulating him. We're accessories to rape.

We're forcing a child to live out our sexual fantasies. We're the bad guys.

I know, you probably think I'm just rambling. I'm struggling to explain significant difference between us being characters within the stories narrative and merely being players.
But trust me, this is all kind of fucked up.

As Emerald, I command you to say 'Yes, sometimes I do feel like I'm being compelled to do things. Sometimes thoughts and desires pop into my head and I don't know where they come from. Right now it feels like something wants me to say 'hello."
Joyride can't get rid of or destroy us. I think we should try to talk to her directly if we can.
I know this seems like a risky move, but I don't think it's morally right to continue as we have been.
>>
>>25523898
Ok, but, and hear me out here, BUT!
BUT! But...
This is fictional
>>
>>25523898
Now i wonder if choosing to allow Emerald to do what he wants would influence the story somehow, like instead of picking between yes and no we just say "do your thing" and he does for us
>>25523921
>implying fiction is nonexistant
>implying there isn't a plane of existence that only exists because of GM's imagination, that is influenced by our decisions
>>
>>25523921
Yeah, but I think you missed my point.

In this fictional story, we thought we were Emerald. But we're not Emerald, we're actually some demon stuck in the amulet.

If we continue controlling Emerald then we are evil. Or, at the very least, the fiction demons in the amulet are evil. Regardless, if we keep exploiting Emerald for sex then we will be playing as an evil entity from now.

If you guys are okay with that, then that's fine. I just hope you're prepared to go full BBEG when Joyride tries to save Emerald from us.
>>
>>25523968
Emerald still is just a kid, even if we explored him sexually, our decisions helped him with surviving at this point, who knows? Maybe Emerald would have chosen to drink the soup, maybe he wouldn't have met Hope and eventually Joyride, maybe he would refuse to use his appearance to his advantage and get caught because of this, even if we are some evil demon we DID helped him in some ways
>>
>>25523259

Yeah, like, all the time. Like right now. And now. And now. Still now.
>>
Does anybody else realize that this means we can exploit meta knowledge?
Previously, we thought we were Emerald, so we roleplayed and didn't use knowledge or skills that he wouldn't have. Now that we know that we're not Emerald, we're free to say whatever we want.

Emerald might not know how to build a musket rifle, but we do. If we're not Emerald, then why would we be limited by his lack of knowledge?

Goddamn, this twist is shaking things up too much for my liking.

>>25523994
A few good deeds don't cancel out our crimes.

Look, we didn't know that Emerald was a separate character to us. We were misinformed, and we did some unethical things in our ignorance.
We didn't knowingly or deliberately do anything wrong, so our previous crimes can be forgiven.

But things are different now. Now we know the truth. We shouldn't keep manipulating him as we did before.

From now on, we should not tell Emerald what to feel or do. Instead, we should ask him how he feels and advice him what do.

If we do choose to keep violating his mind, emotions and his will, then I don't want anybody pretending that it isn't fucked up. If we don't change how we act despite knowing what we know now, then we will be a villain. I don't want to see people trying to justify it with flimsy excuses.
>>
>>25524167
>musket rifle
Rifle musket is the preferred term, and those require very specialized ammo...
>>
>>25524199

>>
>>25524219
I know, I was just busting your balls on obscure terminology.

>>
>>25524167
So, does that mean we can turn Emerald into a super saiyan, fly to our parent's mansion and kill them by shitting apples through our ass?
>>25524167
I believe our ignorance ended up saving his ass multiple times, since the first day we were only doing what we do because we considered that the best for him, because as we roleplayed as him we looked for the best solutions and choices to make sure we would survive, Emerald was always a problem magnet as Joyride said, all the sex was just us taking the opportunity because selfishness, but that also ended up indirectly helping him many times

I agree with what you said (partially) though, giving a shit about his mental state would be nice
>>
>>25524167
>Emerald might not know how to build a musket rifle, but we do. If we're not Emerald, then why would we be limited by his lack of knowledge?
Technically, there is also the chance of us being not well...us, but rather whatever is inside the gem, if instead of a vessel the gem is actually its own thing, its own being, and we were just roleplaying as him this whole time thinking we were Emerald, our choices are still limited to whatever this entity may know, so breaking the 4th wall and using meta knowledge wouldn't work if the creature we are truly roleplaying as doesn't have this level of self awareness in the first place, maybe when Joyride said that thing about mind control she was referring to the entity inside the gem, our character, not us
>>
>>25524302
>So, does that mean we can turn Emerald into a super saiyan, fly to our parent's mansion and kill them by shitting apples through our ass?
No no, it simply means that we can use knowledge that Emerald doesn't have.

For example, I'm a skilled sailor. I could give Emerald detailed instructions on how to sail a yacht and talk him through any mistakes he makes.

Or, let's say that Emerald comes across a snake headed gorgon. Emerald might not know anything about these creatures, but we can exploit our meta-knowledge and tell him not to look in their eyes.

We could tell Emerald about the Elements of Harmony, or we could perform mental feats that no child should be able to do.

Basically, we don't have to roleplay as Emerald anymore. We don't have to keep our suggestions contained within his knowledge or experiences.

>>25524323
>Technically, there is also the chance of us being not well...us, but rather whatever is inside the gem
Yeah, there's also the chance that we're not whatever is inside the gem. We might actually be Emerald after all, and the gem just contains some random minor demon that has nothing to do with us.
>>
This is a fun reveal, but all I'm concerned with is Emerald producing as much seed as he can and knocking up as many mares and fillies as possible.

We're not communicating with him, we're controlling him. You're assuming we have a closer level of communication than we actually have.
>>
The amulet isn't us. We've never had direct control over Emerald. In almost all instances of actions or dialogue it's altered and filtered by the QM. If this were, say, Anonpone where we have direct control that would make sense. The amulet is the QM. At best we have influence, not control.

But no, I'm actually a malevolent, invading force in his mind making him do things he may not want to do. Makes me feel like my attempts to roleplay ended up unnecessary and hollow, like, it takes me out of the whole narrative.

Emerald shrugs and says he doesn't think there is anyone controlling his actions but himself. He's pretty sure anyway, but Joyride is making him worried.

Joyride frowns and says, "Okay, but if you ever get that feeling you come and tell me immediately, alright?"

Emerald gets back to the task at hand, and says he thinks he'll need a new disguise now since they found him again.

"Hmm..." Joyride says, still frowning, "I don't think it was so much they knew who you were. I'm convinced more than ever that the amulet around your neck is cursed, and more over may even have the soul of some unknown, powerful creature bound to it. Binding souls is very highly illegal and the soldiers were probably going to interrogate you to find out where you got it. Probably didn't help that you were such a young colt interested in alchemy either."

Emerald nods, and asks if he can keep the clothes then.

"It should be fine, but I wouldn't go back to that apothecary again." Joyride says smiling, "But if you are looking for an excuse to get some more girly clothes than that's a good of one as any.

Emerald rolls his eyss, and then asks if she has a copy of the wanted poster he could take a look at. He's really curious what's on it.

"Nah, I don't have one on me, but if we wander the town some we'll probably find one. We can keep a lookout when we go out to the party tonight. Anyway, if we are done freaking out I'm going to go back to my business." Joyride says, fumbling with her keys again.

He tries to remember everything he can about the amulet. Where did he get it? Where did his mother get it? Did she always wear it? Did she ever act strange while she had it on?

Where can we get some proper alchemy tools? Even if the amulet works we shouldn't put our head so close to potentially hazardous materials.

I'm not saying you're wrong about the party being risky, and I'm certainly not trying to start an argument, but this is an adventure after all, so let's adventure.
I mostly want to go to meet Hope, and help Joyride, since we've already promised to help her find ingredients and backing out now would be dickish.

Joyride asks where he can get some proper alchemy tools so that he doesn't have to get his face so close to a pot in order to make anything again.

"You can borrow some of mine I guess. Just make sure to ask me first. We'll get you set-up with your own once you earn me more money." She winks at this, and then unlocks the door and enters, shutting it sharply behind her.

Emerald uses the own key he was given to go back to the small studio. He sits down at the small table near it and thinks.

Where did he get this amulet exactly anyway? Who was his mother? He was so young when she died that he has no idea where he got the piece of jewelry. He wracks his brains, but nothing comes up, and all it makes him do is remind himself of his past.

He lays his head on the table with a sigh. He pulls out the small vial with the starlight potion in it and looks at it for a while, and then puts it back in his pocket. Maybe he should just go read more.

Well, maybe we should just read up until we head out for the party. That way we can learn a bit more about what other basic potions and whatnot we can try out.

Emerald wonders about the party for a second. All he knows is that it's a fundraiser and there will be a lot of important people there, and that Hope and Joyride will be there as well.

Sighing again, Emerald heads for Joyride's library. He wants to get his mind off things. He goes out the door, closes it, takes out a key, and enters the gigantic study hall. Pulling a piece of parchment and pen from a nearby table he begins to scrawl what potions he reasonably thinks he could make.

-Chilling Potion
-Cleaning Potion
-Dampening Potion
-Drying Potion
-Pest Potion (Mouse/Spider/Flies)
-Polishing Potion
-Flavor Enhancer (Sweet/Salty/Bitter, etc.) Potion
-Starlight Potion
-Warm Potion
-Tangle Potion
-Distraction Potion
-Wilting Potion
-Coughing Potion
-Itching Potion
-Giggling Potion
-Yawning Potion
-Potion of Curing Scraps and Bruises
-Slippery Potion
-Sticky Potion

Happy with his progress, he puts the pen down at reads the list again, and then wonders how long until he needs to start getting ready.

Emerald refreshes himself on the process of the distraction and the dampness potion.

The distraction potion is either thrown like the fireball potion Joyride mentioned before or shaken and set on a surface. The jostling makes a random, loud noise and causes the potion to explode in a bright, though relatively harmless, light.

The dampness potion simply makes things damp for an extended period of time, even if it is wiped or cleaned by conventional means.

Emerald puts the book down and pulls out the starlight potion again, and quickly writes a poem for Hope.

"The beauty seen in the night skies,
Is mirrored only by your eyes.
I could not capture all that view
But this reminds me now of you.
So take this as a simple boon
And now I'll always be there soon."

He attaches this piece of paper to the vial and smiles at his gift. He hopes that Hope will like it!

He sets the gift down and reads about potions a bit more before a knock comes at the door. Joyride pops in a second later and says,

"Heyyy lil' perv. Time to get your girl on."

Emerald is led out of the library and then Joyride produces a bright pink key. Inserting this leads to a small room with a door on the other side. The room contains a mirror that stretches from the floor to the ceiling and has a small pedestal in front of it. Around the mirror are various combs and other beauty products. Joyride hurries to the other side of the room and opens the door, and even from where he stands in the entrance of the room he can see that it leads to a huge walk-in closet. Joyride returns a second later with Emerald's dress.

Joyride hurriedly gets Emerald into the dress before he can speak more than a few words, and then pushing him up onto the stage says.

"Okay, now what to do with your hair, my lil' perv. Any suggestions?" Joyride says, summoning combs and clippers from a nearby drawer.

Emerald asks about the makeup she says she was going to put on.

"Oh right, I forgot about that! Where would my lil' sissy be without his makeup?" Joyride says, magically opening another drawer and pulling out supplies.

The brushes fly around Emerald's head like a swarm of bees, puffing, drawing, and applying their wears on his face.

When this flurry subsides Emerald notices that Joyride is gone, though he quickly hears her fussing around the closet. She quickly emerges with sleeked down hair and a fancy black and white dress. She seems to have applied makeup herself. The bags under her eyes are gone. He also notices with some disdain that though it's perhaps just as frilly, it's not nearly as poofy and much more stylish.

Emerald says that he just needs to grab a few things and then he'll meet Joyride outside. He then goes to his studio and grabs his bits and Hope's gift and heads for the door. He stops before opening it though.

He walks over to the drawer of the kitchenette and grabs one of the kitchen knives out of it. He looks at the blade for a second. He can't even imagine bringing himself to ever use it, and he shakes and swallows hard just thinking about it... But at the same he's tired of being in situations where he can't defend himself.

Exiting #304 Coursewalk he sees Joyride standing outside levitating a mirror and cleaning her teeth with her tongue.

"Took you long enough. Let's get going."

It's mid-day, closer to night, and there is a slight chill in the air. Emerald only really feels it on his face however, as his dress keeps him snug and warm.

They make their way to the castle, and on the way some of the less savory individuals they pass by give cat calls. Joyride is quick with a quip or a flirt back, but Emerald isn't used to this, and blushes a deep red every time it happens.

"Oh hey. Told you we'd find one." Joyride says, halting in front of a large community board set outside a building.

Among the fliers for help wanted and the dates of various events around the city is one very large poster of Emerald. A missing person's poster.

Emerald gawks at the wanted poster. He almost wants to tear it down, but there are too many people around for that to go unnoticed. Sheepishly, he asks Joyride why she never turned him in for all that money.

"At first it was because you were Hope's lil' fuck toy and I didn't want to take that away from her. Now though, it's because you are my lil' apprentice. You've grown on me squirt." Joyride says, punching Emerald on the shoulder.

"Come on, let's get going to the party." Joyride says, continuing to walk.

Eventually the pair approach their destination and Emerald gets a good look at it. The place is huge, easily taking up a whole half a citiy block by itself, a good quarter of which is a garden. The rest is a wide, two story manor with a sloping roof and marble white columns. The windows are lit up, assumedly for the party. Emerald can hear the partygoers, and the sounds of a band and the smells of exotic foods reach his nostrils.

When they get to the entrance they see two guard ponies standing outside a rounded entrance. Joyride gives her name and the Guard checks a list, nods, and then says, "Okay, through the detector."

As Joyride walks through, Emerald asks what the arch-like structure is.

"Well lil' lady, it makes sure no bad people with weapons try to come through. We have lot's of important people here after all.

If we can't find a way to ditch it then look timid and embarrassed. Tell the guard stallion that this was our first big social event so we were wary and brought a kitchen knife. Hand it over and then look at him with big watery eyes and ask if we're in trouble.

Emerald mentions how he was almost kidnapped yesterday and that he was a little scared about going out so he brought a knife with him, which he then pulls out and hands to the guard. He says that he didn't want to hurt anybody and that he was just scared and that he hopes he's not in trouble. He can feel the start of tears welling up in his eyes.

The guard gives a piteous smile when the knife is pulled out, and he takes it and gives the knife to the second guard.

"Don't worry lil' missy. I assure you this party is one of the safest places in all of Whitherwater right now. I will have to take the knife though, but if you want it back you can come get it after you leave, alright?"

Emerald nods and hurries up to meet Joyride, who is clearly trying very hard to surppress laughter.

"Man, you had more balls than I thought, bringing a knife to a party like this!"

Emerald hangs his head in shame, and after Joyride's chortles disappear she says, "Hey, come on now. If you were really that worried about getting kidnapped I'll give you a knife. A better one that you can actually sneak through those shitty detectors."

Emerald and Joyride walk through the door into a ballroom filled with people. The din of the happy party goers drowns out all the sound except for the band, which is playing a nice waltzy sorty of music. The guests are gathered into big groups and speaking about one thing or another. Joyride starts walking and after Emerald asks where she is going she says,

"Food. Food and then gossip."

Emerald looks around, he doesn't see Hope anywhere. He supposes he'll have to search for her if he wants to find her. Just looking around though he sees the food table Joyride spoke of, as well as some kids his own age sitting around looking bored in a corner.

So what are the chances Shock Top and parents have staked out this party, and Hope, in an attempt to catch Emerald. Because someone noticed Emerald and Hope at the bar together or something.

The problem with just walking away is that we're the one who approached them. If we just walked away it would be suspicious.

Now i wonder, perhaps we should talk about this with Joy just in case? At least mention the fact that the colt's family was the one who tried to kidnap us?
>>
>>25533567
I wonder what would happen if we snagged a guard and pointed him out.
>>
>>25533567
Remember that he wasn't a colt.
>>
>>25533581
Might as well tell them we're Emerald while we're at it.

>"Hey, look out for that innocent looking colt, his family tried to kidnap me for a reward since i am currently running away from my evil step parents who put a ring on my balls"
Yeah, no
>>25533585
Yes, we should also mention that later if possible
>>
>>25533563
We could at least try to be less suspicious.

Watch the previous Shock Top to just have been an illusion cast based on this Shock Top's look.

Eh, being an apprentice is pretty cool.

I still dislike that there's this 'club' of QM's over on Picarto. And I'm a QM..

prenteds he doesn't know him. Your name is emerald. you like to play at the park. do you like playing at the park too shock top? Who are the rest of them?
>>
>>25534160
If we talk at all we're not gonna give him our actual name. It is on the wanted poster after all, and he already caught us once. I'd rather not have to interact with this at all, but if we do then we can give him either the alternate name we came up with or something else entirely, since the alternate one might still be too easy to see through.
