That giant eye doesn't really fit in the skull right. I'm aware it's a "chibi style" but even chibi style is based on real life and stylized. It's hard to comment on this because it's really hard to see any defining shapes to judge. I have no clue what's going on with the feet.

I made luna's neck a little too long but I'm beginning to enjoy these results. Luna's face came out a little elongated but I'm still refining. Figuring drawing is helping immensely when it comes to finding the forms of the bodies. Still a work in progress.

Luna's neck is fine. You made her chain very low. It should be raised higher. Her horn is very tiny. I've notice you have this problem where you make them very tiny. It should be thicker and go through her bang, otherwise it looks weird. Her tail is also low. Make it up towards the top of her cutie mark.

You're shading all of the eye one color. This is the part where you need to start practicing different shadings. The pupil should be darker than the iris. Shading it all one solid color makes them looked coked out. The shading also includes overly dark contours (her nostril).

If you think you haven't improved you're wrong. From the day you posted those head studies to now, youve improved greately. Good job!

I think you're over thinking about alicorns. They have smaller heads than their smaller pony friends, but longer snouts than their female equivalent. If you're using a reference, try and draw it without applying your style. It might help you gain the confidence to manipulate alicorn snouts. You could also try drawing bigger.

As I said before, you need to start working on your different hues of shades. Her eyes still looked drugged out. If shading sounds lame, try cross hatching.

Her horn is still very thin. Think realistically about horns. Don't make them too thin or they might break to trauma, and don't make them too thick or they might be too heavy. I don't know!


As always good work! Keep it up and watch for mistakes yourself, knowing your faults will help you become a better artist.

If you're having an art block I recommend you keep drawing even if you don't want to. Just find random references and begin copying. Whether it be a facial expression you find interesting, a color pallet you like, or an pose you want to try, keep drawing.

Taking a hot shower or going for a walk helps me but I haven't had an art block in about 2 months since I've been focused on studying the human figure and perspective. I always have something new to try now so I'm never bored. When I was desperate I would just begin drawing spirals and circles as exercise or turning blobs into 3D forms.

Fill in a random request if you have to.
