Are there any Gundam pilots out there that aren't incompetent emotional wrecks that do good stuff?
Banagher is not one of these btw

Uso, Domon, Garrod and Loran I suppose. Depends on how you define those things though I suppose.

Crossbone Ghost, his Gundam is equipped with a special radar and hearing system that basically lets him see like Daredevil. If that fails, he can see through the eyes of a newtype girl.
Kinda really autistic to call him a Sue seeing how he struggles in every battle that isn't against grunts.
>>15868198
He's a good kid.
>>15868285
Neil Dylandy was an emotional wreck though, he was just way better at hiding it than his crewmates. It was what got him killed after all.

Lockon Stratos (1) is definitely more of a good guy pilot than Setsuna
>Intentionally tries not to kill pilots, instead aims for armaments or hands
>Hasn't killed anyone as a child soldier like Setsuna did
>Gave his life for the cause
>Goes hard on terrorists
>Not emotionally stunted or insane pyscho like every other CB pilot
Truly the good guy.Wish we got MGs of other Celestial Being MS besides all the fucking Exia/Raiser/QanT variants

>Intentionally tries not to kill pilots, instead aims for armaments or hands
He did that like once, against glorified forklifts that were so far outclassed even by CB's standards that he felt bad for them.
>Gave his life for the cause
If by that you mean his own cause, sure. He died because he insisted on pursuing his personal vendetta against Ali, proving that it meant more to him than his commitment to CB.
>Not emotionally stunted or insane pyscho like every other CB pilot
He's plenty damaged, he just doesn't show it outwardly, and his inability to move on with his life cost him that life because he had such a vengeanceboner for Ali that he went off after him on foot.
Don't get me wrong, I love Lockon, he's an all round cool dude and whenever anyone in the crew is going through a rough patch he's infallibly there for them with some sage advice and emotional support. But everybody else regarding him as the ship's designated shoulder to lean on led to them buying into the emotionally healthy front he put up, so nobody noticed his own issues or was able to be there for him in turn, so his issues went unaddressed, leading to his untimely demise. All of which is good writing, but doesn't make him not an emotional wreck. A good guy sure, but not a healthy one.
