When the fuck did the Zaku II get vulcans?

In the Origin, the Zaku II always had vulcans.

No. Look up the Origin Type C zaku. No chest vulcans. Only Char's Commander-type Zaku has chest vulcans. In fact, the Origin Char's Zaku kit even included extra chest pieces without the chest vulcan so you could make a regular Zaku.

There isn't just one Origin Zaku, there's several variants. I wouldn't call the C-5 a regular type.

Type C-5 Zaku II is a special upgraded variant of the Zaku IIC (the first mass-produced Zaku II), equipped with auto-cannons on the left arm for use against light armor targets.

The initial Guncannons were a secondary project conducted by Anaheim and the EFSF. At that point, the top brass was convinced that they curbstomp anything Zeon might be planning using their Salamis/Magellan fleets.
