It has better pacing than Black, but some people are annoyed by how it pretty much shoves aside almost everything Black related. The plot turns into a mess later on when they start setting up the final arc and just pretend some earlier stuff didn't exist.

Big spoilers

They'll introduce the concept that Earth's and Crisis' atmosphere are incompatible, even though people had no issues going from one world to another earlier in the show. They explain that away with a special treatment given to Crisis officers, which doesn't work well with the resistance members that did the same - so they just pretend they never mentioned a Crisis resistance later.

Crisis population is too big to be brought to Earth anyway, so only humanity or the demon world people could survive and the show end with the Crisis Emperor defeated and blowing up alongside the entire Demon world and everyone who was there, and the show hopes you take that as a good ending which is why they stop introducing or mentioning sympathetic people from the demon world when they start setting up this ending.

Everyone except the people in the show itself hate him. He's a wet blanket. He exists solely for people to wank off about how great he is while he essentially just "exists" throughout the plot. Takeru's friends hold on to the pieces of the Ore Eyecon and put their feelings for him into it hoping it calls out to him. My favorite part about watching the original series is getting to see literally every single person involved learn how to make a tv show.

The actors get more convincing, the dialogue gets better, the director and cameramen learn how to do better shots, they figure out better ways to convey special effects, the lighting gets better, the fight choreography gets better, it's great.

Shocker weren't just an evil organization, any time any Shocker member was around suddenly the entire world turned psychadelic and freaky, using chords straight out of horror movies, bizarre cinematography, and an overall much more leering nature. I'll admit that the show got a bit watered down once they made the switch, especially compared to the intensity of the first 7 episodes, but on a technical level the rate at which they learned and improved is astonishing. They went from shit like reversed foam and uncurling beads to crossfades, explosions, blowtorches and clever use of scale.
