Hello, /m/! I know here is not /co/ but in one of the earlier threads I promised that I will storytime this comic and I am back. I don't have Hiroshimoot pass so it will take some time to finish it. Anyway, let's do this.

Modern comics are full of CGI art. A huge amount of backgrounds, for instance, are traced 3d models that they'll rotate to show different angles, etc.

I was there at the time this was released. Every other comic reader I knew thought this book was ugly as sin and couldn't understand why it wasn't hand-drawn with traced 3D armour models like the previous volume.

That can be a good or a bad thing depending on the artist. Some make it seamless and use it to create huge compelling scenes (mostly Japanese artists, come to think of it), others just lazily slap stock assets into the background and throw a phototexture down for the ground plane.
