I think the next season will be lighter than IBO.

Fans complained that G Reco was too light, then we got IBO which was much more serious.

Most of IBO's criticism were about its failed attempt at grey morality, the actions of the protagonists(Tekkedan was mostly justified) and the whitewashing of Rustal.

Next series will probably have a lighter tone, no attempts at grey morality and more mainstream protagonists.

They ended a dark age caused by Gjallhorn's incompetence and corruption.

What made the ending so bogus was the fact that the writers had Rustal(who was involved in all of Gjallhorn's corruption)do what should have been done by Kudelia.

The ending would have been better and made more sense if it was Kudelia who carried out the reforms. Rustal being a reformer made no sense.

The second season would have probably been improved if Kudelia had a bigger role. She would have been able to keep Orga from making some bad decisions.

Okada was trying so hard to create a story that was "dark" when she's never done that before outside of M3 (which wasn't anywhere as heavy as IBO tried to be)

The next gundam series needs to look back at the original and build off of it, basically we need another SEED-esque attempt at reviving the series, but by making an actually good entry this time.
0079 was not a dark show, but it was able to touch on some mature themes and handled those subjects without being in your face about it.

I don't know why, but I've noticed that anime is really bad at being subtle with thematic content.
