That's Yzak's girl; Shiho. Who has a dedicated fandom of her own considering she isn't voiced, and was spared death as a result of it.

She was supposed to be Nami Tamaki's character, and be the main reason Yzak goes on warpath. Instead, due to Nami being unable to voice her, she was mostly relegated to unvoiced background character. However, she remained popular enough that she was given her own manga short. She also hates skirts, and has feelings for Yzak. Yzak also gave her her nickname.

Destiny was a shitty remaster as compared to SEED. Nothing was done about the filler flashbacks. In SEED's case the episode count was lower since they cut out the rubbish.

Yzak was supposed to be a somewhat hotheaded and impulsive individual, with a certain rivalry with Athrun as both competed for the top marks. But would grow and mature out of that phase after seeing the cost of war.

If I'm not misremembering old interviews, Yzak was originally intended to become an especially angsty and borderline anti-Natural member of the team after Shiho's death. But as things didn't pan out that way, they moderated him into just an aggressive and competitive rival to Athrun.

There were episodes or at least parts of episodes cuts, one I remember is when Cagalli launches in the Akatsuki and the next was a filler with Athrun remembering things, in the remaster the story continues directly. Also, the longer ending that was made after i divided in the two last episodes of the remaster.
