The fact that stuff like Taka/Harinezumi/Soujiki/etc.only only turn into English in Best Matches feels like a pretty deliberate choice. How will the non-TV-N sub groups reflect that, if at all. Maybe just leave them untranslated I suppose. That's what they did with Gashat names, after all.

I just finished Gaim.
I have watched OOOs and Fourze before this, but I was not ready or prepared for this ride about dancing fruit samurai.

I really liked that the plot was constantly moving and had little to no motw segments whatsoever.
The final battle with Kaito and Kouta was sick as fuck, I have real hard on for shit like when the last battle is between the MC and his rival.
As I watched the show I came to know that Urobuchi wrote this which you can kinda see when you see the ending and know the true identity of the Inves, but I
It was still really good nonetheless.
I like this one the best from the shows 3 series I have seen up untill now.
Fourze and OOOs were fun, but they never had me really on the edge of my seat like gaim.
I have some petpeeves like kaito not having enough forms or every energy lock having the same bow weapon to name a few, but those are just nitpicks from me.

Dan the Man is the tale of a villain done right. He has a reason for his mental health declining (the Proto-Gashat destroyed his mind), and his motives are heavily selfish, to make Kamen Rider Chronicle. When he's dead, that's the first part of his whole arc. Then he comes back, but the best thing is that... he's still himself.

When Dan is revived he's still the same person, but circumstances are forcing him to play for the other side now. He believes that everyone that died was fine because they weren't really dead, and their sacrifices were needed for his "art." He makes small strides in heroism, but they're mainly selfish. Saving Poppy is for her, because she's what's left of his dead mother. He created her from the life of his dying mother, the only one Dan probably loved. Dan's probably the most interesting Rider there is because he really falls in the grey zone of whether or not he's truly evil.

That's why Micchy fails as a character. His descent into madness has no real reason or trigger outside of "MAI-SAN". And at the end there are no repercussions for what he did. Dan gets under house arrest because he earned it. The other Riders come to realize Dan, in his insanity, is probably their best asset. What does Micchy do? Nothing. Kouta forgives him for trying to murder everyone. Dan? Gets placed in a digital jail and is only allowed out when Momma Poppy lets him.

i don't really remember complaints about the fruit or the suits, the whole fruit concept was embraced pretty well. lots of talk about more fruit suits we didn't get and what they'd do/look like, i remember blueberry and even tomato coming up. there was a LOT of hype for the melonbowl. a lot of talk about how fucking dumb Kouta could be at times, 'Micchy a shit' posting, lots of talk about what would happen with Kaito, with some calling out that he'd be the final boss pretty early and others me included saying it wouldn't come to that...

oh, and some Redyue stuff. mostly awkward boners because she was voiced by a dude.

Watching Chou Super Hero Taisen right now and its pretty good. Thank God they put Momotaros and Amu in the main cast.

It has little to do with Mai. His crush on Mai is just the reason he never turns against her unlike everyone else. Remember, his disagreements with Kouta start when Kouta, after the Christmas incident, continues fighting as a Rider to protect people, which makes Micchy worried about Yggdrazil finding them out. That had nothing to do with Mai. He's also shown to be genuinely impacted by the Helheim ruins (with tears on his eyes). The whole point with Micchy was that he had given up hope at that point and just wanted to protect his small circle, and saw Kouta's actions more and more going against that, but was too much of a coward to confront him directly. It's the reason the final episode for example focuses on his lack of hope as his mistake, nothing about Mai.

So now that Ex-Aid is over, what do you think was the best episode in the series?

Personally, I think it's Episode 31. It had a great mixture of humor (CHARLIE, MY FRIEND!) and drama all while perfectly encapsulating the core conflicts of the story (Saving Lives vs. Cheapening Them, Humans vs. Bugsters, Kuroto's Schemes, etc.) and reminding you who the major players in it were (at the time). Also, between the continue pipe lives and the heavy use of platform blocks during the climactic fight, it was one of the chapters in the story's second half that really played up the show's video game gimmick.
