This is my take on Altair's power.

If it has any weakness and Altair has a fan autistic enough to describe a battle between her and demonbane and her subsequent victory Altair gains a chance to abuse it and defeat any foe. Fiction works on many different levels and a cosmic creature "deleting" Altair makes as much sense as her undeleting herself, in this she has an advantage since her canon is that she has no set canon.

I always thought that was ambiguous. The dude clearly hung himself. Megane might have been responsible for that, but she doesn't have enough appreciation for subtlety to have killed him and made it look like an accident.

I'm guessing either he suicided before she even got there for his own reasons, or he killed himself after he realized Megane was real and what that meant.

She's a wildcard with no investment in either side. Her contribution early on is padding out the Alice arc, because without her interference Alice would have swapped sides much sooner and we wouldn't have gotten that second big fight at all. Also, Alice would have died almost immediately after Mamika.

She poked Souta into spilling his backstory to the rest of the team, and recently she is the plot excuse for their latest 'last ditch hail mary never will work' plan actually having enough juice to run.

She isn't a major player or anything, but she fills in the gaps and greases the wheels, which isn't a bad role for a side character.
