I live in Florida, so only got a 80% partial eclipse. Neat, but not as spectacular.

I used a projecting telescope to look at it. Only got about 60-70% of it here, and the effect wasn't even noticeable aside from it being a bit cooler for a short period of time.

You may well be fine, but human sight's pretty good at editing out imperfections in the data it's getting.
Also, the blindness thing is more about the eclipse ending and getting a blast of full sunlight while your pupils are still dilated from the darkness. Even then I think "blind" is probably an exaggeration.
