For me its the GM, simple yet so amazing.

The GM Command is my favorite but it gets such little screentime.

I like the zaku, but I like the geara doga more, although the zaku does look like a machine that might actually be used in combat.

GM and Zaku have similar versatility.

Gouf were hard to handle and only favoured by veterans. Doms were heavy and hit and run specific.

Gelgoogs were meant to replace the Zaku line, but don't know what happened.

I like everything about the GuAIZ except its pointy hat and the series it's in. It's armoured, imposing without looking evil, general purpose, and has big back-mounted verniers that aren't overly excessive. Also I have a thing for melee weapons on shields.

The Crouda's tied for the spot. Big back mounted weapons are almost as good as verniers, especially oversized melee ones. The literal target on its centre of mass is unfortunate.

It was a case of too little, too late
They were introduced too late to make much of a difference, and most veteran zeon pilots were dead by then so the mobile suit was piloted by inexperienced newbies who didn't have the capability to let the MS shine

Even Neo Zeon didn't care about the Gelgoog too much, it became obscure just like the Gyan.

The Zaku and Dom remained as mainstays in the form of the Zaku III, Gear Doga and Dreissen. Gouf became the Gallus J, and R Jaja and the Regulu saw limited use.

I will once again reiterate my love for the Javelin. Mainstay grunt suit of the Feddies at the time of Victory and serving for at least 30 years (judging from it's model number), yet still capable of holding it's own against Zanscare's best.

It's not that. The problem with the Gelgoog was that it was released toward the end of the One Year War... when most of their seasoned pilots were already fucking dead.

As a result, the Gelgoogs were way WAY less formidable as they should have been on the battlefield, as most of them were piloted by amateurs. That's probably why they were seen as kind of not worth the time. Their combat experience alone showed them as being kind of terrible. Meanwhile, you saw amazing pilots do great things in Zakus, and Doms.

The thing is, that says something about how powerful the Gelgoogs were. Axis, Neo Zeon, and The Sleeves used the Gelgoog, a mobile suit that was over ten years old, with only needing to make some minor modernization adjustments to make the salvaged Gelgoog into the ReGelgu and it was still useful on the battlefield

He masterminded OZ's coupe to take over the alliance, set the gundam pilots up to kill the alliance's top brass (Blaming him for Septem doesn't count since Lady Une is just that kind of derp), and then took his position as the leader of earth after it became apparent that the romefellar foundation were incompetent rich white guys.

Also he didn't kill himself because Epyon told him to, he threw the duel to show Wufei how sincere he was about all the deaths he caused. It was to prove a point that someone like Wufei deserves to live more than he does.

They really don't. I do like though how in Victory, despite largely being cannon fodder, Javelins still get a few moments to shine here and there. Like that scene where 3 Javelins combine their beam shields to block Katejina's huge beam cannon. A favorite of mine is this scene where a few Javelins stop Fualla from finishing off a damaged V2. Sure most of them get vaporised a second later, but it's a bunch of nameless, faceless grunts saving a Gundam Main Character. How often does something like that happen?

I don't see him as any kind of grand mastermind personally, but I do think he had a point with the whole "removing humans from war" thing; since his whole point was that if you make armies of drones then war just becomes a game between two rich assholes throwing money at each other until one runs out of cash, and civilians with no actual choice are the only ones facing any kind of consequence, not soldiers who specifically chose to do it. It trivializes the choice to go to war, since why wouldn't you when you have nothing to lose beyond some drones and no-one to nay say you? Who cares about all the people you don't know who'll probably die after all? Something he tries to demonstrate by piloting against mobile dolls, especially when Tuborov orders them to kill Treize and Treize countermands that order by ordering the men programming the dolls to kill Tuborov instead. Which they stand up and are willing to do, demonstrating that humans have advantages over machines because they have loyalty and can interpret orders in a way machines can't.

Trieze to me doesn't romanticize war so much as he romanticizes soldiers, especially the Gundam pilots, who he sees as fighting against the onset of technology like mobile dolls and despite being abandoned and reviled by the colonies because of actions like killing the peaceful members of the alliance. They keep fighting to settle things between the Earth and colonies regardless of the odds or how people perceive them, which fits his image of an ideal soldier.
