What do you think about SF3D/Maschinen Krieger /m/en?
I always think of it as Gundam's UC Hardgraph with power armour instead of giant robots.

I have a whole folder of images of M.K. I like the retro style of the majority of the designs, especially the SDR machines. I also like the plot, even if is nothing really special, it is pretty creative.

They make me feel a vague sense of discomfort that I do not enjoy.
>Ned Kelly Future Wars
>>15798942
IT's like an universe of Zaku-variants, yes.
>>15798942
It's also a Gundam but with Zeon's and Fed's roles got reversed.
Seriously, this franchise has it potential.
>>15798942
There are some giant robots.
I've read that SF3D began as a response to Gundam in an attempt to push the "real robot" idea further.
This article is pretty neat: http://www.zimmerit.moe/kow-yokoyama-sf3d-original/

I've seen it here and there, but never know what it is. Is it just a setting for models?
Pretty cool stuff, I like the weathered/WWII approach to the mecha. I have 3 of the SF3D kits but I have not built them yet, I am practicing my weathering/painting techniques on Gunpla to be able to make my SF3D kits have that Kow Yokaya worn/weathered look when I build them.
Weathering kits realistically is a lot harder than I thought it would be

More or less...
Its served mostly for foundation of its modelling theme, but there was several attemp to expand it, from board games to live action movie. Then, copyright issue happened....

more details on the story?

So its happens after the event World War IV in 2807 that kills most of Earth's population and renders the planet uninhabitable, forcing everyone that survive to evacuate the planet.
Fifty-two years after the war, a research team from interstellar community called Galactic Federation is sent to Earth and discovers that the planet's heal itself. The Federation decides to repopulate the planet and sends over colonists. Cities and towns are eventually reformed over the next 20 years, but this also attracts attentions of criminals, military deserters, and other lawless scum who wanted to hide on Earth, away from authorities.
Fearing civil unrest caused by such ruckuss and the colonists forming their own government, the Federation gives the Strahl Democratic Republic (or SDR) the right to govern the planet in the late 2870s.
But, the usage of heavy-handed tactics such as uptight law and forced labour spark a massive reaction from the colonist, creating the Earth Independent Provisional Government as a declaration independence from the SDR. The SDR immediately establishes a puppet government and attempts to quell the uprising. The wealthy colonists hire mercenaries who are descendants of WWIV veterans to form the Independent Mercenary Army (or IMA), which is bolstered by the presence of SDR Foreign Legion defectors. They attack the SDR forces and the battle to control Earth begins in 2882.

The war between SDR and IMA continue for four years, while developing new technologies along the way. One of them is Armored Fighting Suit (or AFS), first deployed by IMA in 2883 to devastating effect. The SDR eventually builds their own AFS units to counter it, along with anti-gravity tech and powerfull unmanned robot such as Großer Hund (Big Dog), Nutrocker (Nutcracker) and Kröte (Toad).
tl;dr : space Australian colonist (IMA) fighting the space German (SDR) with power armors, hover tanks and big unmanned robots.

There's some kind of eeriness to the designs that I can't quite place. It's weird. A lot of them are pretty neat, though.
>>15798942
anyone got the book for building these?
kow yokoyama is a fucking genius. love this series
>>15803765
By the way the pic related is Nutrocker
This is Goßer Hund, the 10 feet tall murderbot.

There was Ma. K artbooks being sold in Amazon and HLJ, featuring how-to, paint scheme, backstory and such.

>I have a whole folder of images of M.K.
mind uploading your folder, it's surprisingly hard to find images for this stuff
SF3D/Ma.K out-Kobayashis Kobayashi. I love the unglamorous, almost-alien style, but SF3D/Ma.K takes things down to SUCH an unglamorous level that I just can't get into it.

>tfw ywn pilot a kangaroo from your cozy wwii cockpit
Cool, Ma.K thread, I'll dump some of the kit's I've built.

Some fellas really goes beyond when it is to represent the cockpits.

I dont think that will be needed. It is not really a large folder, and I already been dumping some images here, anyway. Is also not that difficult to find models and dioramas images, pinterest have tons of them.
This blog have some photos and translated info in some of the models:

No, not that I know.

I love everything power armor.

>Dat creepy ass armor.
Did she get raped?
>>15803806
Reminds me of the Matrix animated movie power armor, and then that reminds me of that scene where the guy gets fucking ripped clean out of his armor by the robits.

This is the stupidest shit I ever read please dont compare the two u Gundam fags

Is there really not a single manga, game or anime of these? I think I'm going to cry.

Pretty ironic considering Makoto Kobayashi actually worked on a lot of these designs. Don't say such ignorant things.
>>15830975
Don't compare kits that literally use gundam model parts to gundam? What are you, retarded?
really wish we had a well made Wiki for Maschinen Krieger
