I don't know if you've played the game or not, but pilots are less vehicle crew and more special forces with an intelligent tank following around for backup. The titan can withstand heavy fire, use heavier weapons, and move faster in open terrain, but can't enter small spaces. Likewise, pilots have jumpjets and can do all kinds of Mirror's Edge shit in a cluttered environment, on top of being able to seriously damage a titan in close quarters and being able to use grappling hooks/cloaking/holographic projectors/etc.

Titanfall 2 is the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game in recent memory. PS4 is still pretty active, I play a little every night. The new horde mode is a lot of fun too for experimenting with titan playstyles.

They should. That article is the only reason I didn't get the game or its sequel. Every time I even heard the title, I got a little pissed off inside. Turns out I was missing out on something really cool.
People think marketing is an easy job, but its really not. You can turn your brand into poison for thousands of people in the space of a few seconds. And fixing that brand is with those people after the damage is done is nigh impossible.

no your dead right the campaign is well done. but that's not Titan fall markets hence why most people gave it a miss. that and EA for some reason launched it and battle field 1 in the same month that would have stung the sales.

I want a single-player Titanfall game where you can customize your Titan to the degree you can customize your pilot.

Pick chassis type, weapon + modifications, tactical/defensive/utility abilities. Long story-driven game with progression, though not necessarily full RPG.

The setting is interesting and well-populated enough that you can make an expansive story spread across multiple worlds.
