Almost all of the Jaegers were too good for the plebs. Pacific Rim deserved to sell better. And most maddening of all, the DVD release has fucked up audio. Nothing like the theater.

The word "mech" is awful to me. I was not and am not a big fan of Pacific Rim's robots.

When I want good American robots specifically it typically turns into less "find American robots I like" as much as finding anything to do with them at all and then having to go over the same (very few) examples over again.

Western mech designs usually do nothing for me, but Gipsy Danger is unquestionably one of my favorite giant robots ever.

He's a Mexican and did say that all of this was to satisfy his childhood boner for Mazinger and the like.
He, thankfully, had a strict policy to not make direct references to anything in the designs. So aside from the Mazinger chest on Gypsy Alpha, everything is original and frankly, great.

I separate giant robots into two categories only. Bad ones and good ones. Couldn't give less of a fuck if they were designed by a Leaf, Burger, Chinese, Korean concept artist, studied Japanese engineer or a guy from Italy.

Imperial Knights are British designs even if you consider the fact they are basically just stolen from Warmachine which is made by Americans.

It's kinda weird there's no greater output of mecha from the Spaniards.

Remind me again, what did Western mecha designers come up with first? Variable Fighters were Japanese. Kaiju busters were Japanese (Or at least I'm pretty sure they were Japanese). I just want a genuine list, I'm not going to just put up tunnel vision if someone offers a good response. Even two or three entries would do, because I know there's something out there I don't know about.

I'm the last person on earth to defend Games Workshop, but those are upscaled modernisations of designs that existed in Epic (6mm massive battle system) as far back as 1994.
