Rebellion has "vague" homages to the AE love sim. Mostly the AE girls having a Haro, them completing Unit 4 and Yuri-fying some of the 0083 AE girl designs.

Rebellion also has a few chapters detailing the Albion chasing Gato's Jukon sub from Australia to Africa. That's where the G-Armor II (piloted by Allen) and the aqua armor for Unit 1 shine.

I think that's the worst part. She traveled with these guys the entire time, and even if she didn't recognize Gato the first time, doesn't ANY of that time she spent with the Albion's crew mean ANYTHING? You mean, after finding out that her fanatical EX-boyfriend is about to drop a fucking colony, she shows up and stabs Kou in the back to save him?

I mean, did she forget about Lucette? She must have. Because she fucking died to help out the Albion Crew, and she goes well out of her way to ruin everything for them.

She may as well have been a fucking Zeon spy the entire time! In fact, maybe that would have been better, because I could at least understand why she did it. Here, she just stabs everyone in the back over a fling with a guy so dedicated to Zeon, he told her to leave.

Then, she has the nerve to smile at Kou at the end! Fuck whoever wrote that scene in!

its not canon but Rebellion did take cues from certain ideas like AE girls having a Haro & them working on Unit 4 till completion

Also for people complaining about Nina's portrayal in the end of 0083. The OVA suffers from the same fate as 08th MST in that the director was changed after episode 7 (Kelly's introduction and him knowing Nina). The second director dropped that plot point but Rebellion explains it.
The second director Takashi Imanishi is known for directing 2 episodes of ZZ Gundam: "The Second Coming of Sarasa" & "Dublin Afternoon" which were horrible episodes. He also worked on the 1st two MS Igloos and the 1st three The Origin OVAs
