Thoughts on Rom Stol(MATTE) in terms of protagonist characters/roles?
Also, what do you think of his design in terms of aesthethics?

Typical martial arts story protagonist with a spaghetti western musical theme, a jidai-geki style catchphrase, cool robots and a cute sister.
Also those segmented mouth guards he has are the sickest shit, nothing says time for battle like a metal plate covering up your mouth on cue. More mechs should do it. Casshern isn't enough.
All I know of Rom is his characterization in the SRW games, and he's pretty much just your boilerplate SR hero. I like his attitude, and his penchant for showing up when it's least convenient for the antagonists, but past the action and badassery there's not a lot of depth to analyze. That being said, if what you want is action and badassery, he's got you covered.
Revenge of Cronos still only has crabs, right?

After the first fifteen episodes, yes. It's really not that good of a show anyway, you just tune in every week to watch Rom say and do cool shit.

You should watch the anime, SRW only shows the serious Rom and not his goofy side, which is a shame since Rom in the show's actually really entertaining.

From that description, actually, it sounds great.

Hey it's fine when he's doing and saying cool shit. The problem is that that's only 40% of every episode
